Rare **Bistro 44 Burger RARE
Barbara S.

I will never return to this place. I ordered a medium hamburger and it came rare. The manager sent two different waitresses over to try to convince me that it was medium and said if they make another burger for me, they're going to charge me for two burgers. Needless to say, I sent the burger back and left. Their food is pretty good, but Dina, Tracy and Shelly have no idea how to treat customers. It was really unbelievable actually.

This place has a couple of specials that were awesome. They have a Sunday burger special and an early bird special. The group I was with enjoyed their meals as did I. Service was good and the price was fair.

Wedge salad

After a long morning in Sabino Canyon, we were able to walk to this bar for happy hour and wine/beer. I had a wedge salad and was amazed at the amount of bacon and cheese on it! Husband had three sliders and I had one and he finished the salad. Lots of locals here, and a few tourists. Would totally recommend the establishment, especially for HH. Service was incredibly attentive, too.

Top notch service and food, especially the salmon salad and burger. Patio is perfect for enjoying the nice weather.

We sat in the bar for dinner. The food was great and our server was awesome and attentive especially considering it was busy.

Feast - Brined roasted pork chop 9/2026

I really need to visit here more often. For Sonoran Restaurant Week 9/2026 Feast had a nice tasting…read moresequence so it made our list for this 10 day event and all was terrific. We had a primary server who was excellent but several staff will circulate to check on drinks, food. We each ordered something different, allowing us to turn a 3 course sampling into six! The sheeted carrot "lasagne" was probably our least favorite, though by no means bad. And that is partly because the other appetizer (grilled swordfish chilaquiles) was sooo good. For entrees we got the Brined and roasted pork chop, and the Petrale sole. The pork chop was a solid, 1+ inch thick and surprisingly juicy (brining!). The sole was tender, delicate, and delicious with its gribiche sauce. Each came with excellent "breads" - super airy biscuits with the Sole and amazing pear and taleggio cheese fritters with the pork. We split a pair of desserts as well: Verrine: parfait of pistachio mousse - incredibly inventive and (nicely) barely sweet. And the Frangipane fruit tart - think of a light marzipan tart. Needless to say we loved both desserts for their unconventional riff on a standard. A definite winner from among the 125 options this year! Reservations are advised. Parking is easy in their just-right-sized private lot.

As always creative and good food. Great service. Wonderful wine selection…read more The dishes have great imagination. The rabbit was over cooked (which was unfortunate) however the pearl cous cous flavor was absolutely amazing. The lobster Benedict Sauce was wonderful. Egg perfectly cooked.

There was no wait and our order was taken about 15 minutes after we were seated. That was a sign of things to come. We received our order ~40 minutes later. We needed to get to an appointment in 1.5 hours and had to push that to a later time because... good luck paying out or getting iced tea refills or pretty much anything after receiving your order. After our server finally stopped by and said she would bring our check, we watched her run out to the outdoor dining area five or so times and deliver three other checks, but not ours. I cornered her in the kitchen where she was with a manager and asked for our check. There was no apology from her or the manager. Thankfully, we could scan a QR code to pay. Any manager who does not step in when a customer has to ask for their check (in the freaking kitchen!) needs improvement. I doubt anything will change considering her lack of concern.

There was a…read moreshort waitlist when we arrived and the restaurant erected a pop-up canopy to wait outside out of direct sun. Seating is tables and chairs (no booths) in two dining rooms. A pet friendly patio is at the back. Menus are pretty big with a variety of preconceived dishes although they seem OK with substitutions. My friend tells me they have a turkey sausage option for those who don't eat pork sausage. Our waitress was very friendly, kept our waters filled and checked in on us often. All our food was well prepared and there were plenty of left overs. My mocha cold brew was full of flavor and not too sweet with lots of that coffee flavor shining through. So glad I ordered that with the optional whipped cream on top! Thanks to our friends information we received a military discount on our order. We won't see our friends for a while and we sat at the table talking. After paying our tab the waitress let us know we could stay to visit and offered to refill our waters if wanted. Very sweet. Two gender neutral restroom are down a hallway at the back. Highchairs and booster seats are available. A pet friendly outdoor patio is at the back.
