The place is pretty much a diner with standard American food fare. The place is always clean and always busy. It's fixed up in a country/farm décor with both booths a tables. The staff are great. They always have smiles and are happy to see you. They are hard workers and are efficient. The food always comes out tasty and the same every time. I love the burgers and the Patty Melt is my favorite. The sides can be French fries, onion rings, salads, or fruit. The breakfast menu has omelettes, hot cakes, waffles, and the standard breakfast with eggs, choice of ham, sausage, or bacon. It's a great spot to stop in and get whatever it is that you are craving, plus knowing that it will come out the same every time. read more

I love, love, love liver and onions with mashed potatoes and green beans or peas. But many years have passed since my last mouthwatering meal. When a friend recommended Jerry Bob's my mind became fixated. Two days later 5/25/25, I called placing an order along with the fried chicken breast lunch special. Seems I misread the online menu because the location didn't have green beans. So, I opted for a side salad with Italian salad dressing. Disappointed, "Yes." Anyway, I took an Uber because I'm visiting. The driver mentioned hearing about Jerry Bob's but never eating there. "The place looks nice inside. What's good?' he asked. I confessed it was my first time and I ordered liver & onions and mashed potatoes. He cracked up laughing. "Liver and onions you gotta be kidding. And this isn't a soul food restaurant either. Wait until I tell me sister. Our grandmother used to throw down. I know we'll try it." I opened the container and felt like crying. Both piece where overcooked, black/burnt, and when cut dry in sections. I tried chewing a piece that appeared okay. Wrong!! It was incredibly tough. I called the restaurant speaking to either Claudia or Clorrisa. I was told the liver had been frozen and it took me around 30 minutes to get there. Acknowledging liver is frozen in most restaurants, "It's a matter of how its cut and tooked. And who ever did this didn't know what they were doing." The woman asked if I wanted to come back for a replacement. "No, the restaurant cloes at 2 and it's almost that time." When she stated the manager would call me in the morning I replied: "Fine, I'll hermetically seal this and bring it back so he can see how bad it looks and tastes. Maybe I'll get an omelette but I damn sure won't try liver and onions again." Well, no one called. It's 5/28/25 and the two slices of BURNT, TOUGH, DRY as ----liver (that cost $12.99, plus $3.49 for the salad) lays somewhere in my sister's trash/garbage awaiting a ride to the dump. Awesome restaurant! We were greeted immediately. Our waitress took our drink order right away and brought everything just as ordered. The single order of biscuits and gravy was huge and the biscuits were warm and fluffy. I got the corned beef which was really delicious, next time I would maybe ask for a crisp on them. If you are looking for your next breakfast spot, this is it. The people that work here are great. If you are open to it, they will chat with you, get to know you and treat you like family. I have been to most all of the Jerry Bobs locations in town, with the one year Broadway and Rosemont being my favorite. I can safely say that of all the locations, this one -- likely because it is new -- is the cleanest of them all. This Jerry Bobs does not have the lived-in feeling of the other locations. The booth cushions are somewhat firm and tear-free. The tables still have the factory sheen. The walls are bright. There's bound to be country music playing on the radio. There are plenty of wall hangings and are some old fashioned trinkets, a couple of which encourage you to "drink more milk." There also seems to be quite a few fake plants. Wait...maybe they are real. I will need to touch one next time. OK, for now fake-looking plants. Likely because of its location, this place draws a lot of families, especially on the weekends. So be forewarned: The volume level can get high and the wait can be 15 minutes or so. I've been a few times and there always seems to be the lengthy weekend wait, which seems to be typical of most Jerry Bobs. And some folks let their little ones run all over the place. But these things are not unusual. So, yes, with this particular location, there is noting especially different from any of the other locations, other than the fact that it is immaculate at the moment. They've got omelets, hash browns, grits, gravy and biscuits, stacks, waffles, Huevos Garcia, corned beef hash, chicken fried steak and a ton more on the breakfast menu. Thinking about lunch or dinner? They've got Cajun chicken, liver, catfish, beef, sandwiches, salads and soups and a bunch of other things. This location also has a nice sized bar, in case you don't care to sit in a booth or at one of the tables, which always seem to be set for larger parties. They also have daily specials and, on Fridays, a fish fry with cod that runs 2-8 p.m. And the staff is cordial and attentive, though they are old school. So don't get all annoyed if you find someone yelling to you from across the dining hall about whether or not you want more coffee, or if you find that someone is waving you toward an open seat. Remember, this is a family-styled diner. It's all good. All that to say that I imagine that if you have been to any other Jerry Bobs in town, you should expect a similar experience and treatment. And that's fine by me. I don't go to Jerry Bobs for 5-star treatment, or quiet ambiance, or to be pampered and have my ego stroked. I go for the good, reasonably priced home cooking. It's the kind of cooking that reminds me of the brief time I spent living in the south. It's the type of cooking that goes well after a good exercise, especially a moderate hike. And it's the type of cooking you want when you find you're missing home. read more

Went to the location on valencia and I was not impressed stood around for a few minutes no one said anything I understand it was busy but a simple ill be right with you would have been nice I asked a woman cleaning a table if we need to wait to be seated she just said she doesn't speak English and continued cleaning so we left after being side eyed by a waiter several times I was really looking forward to this so we went to the location on calle Santa Cruz. I've been waiting over half an hour just to get seated without a single person in line. The 3 Mexican waitress seem to be confused and flustered unaware of what's going on. The food was ok, Nothing wrong with it. It just didn't WOW me. Which is ok! I'm definitely coming back. I had the green chili and cheese omelet and a single pancake. I asked to add mushrooms to my omelet, and they forgot. I'm not mad and I'm not going to bash them. It's an easy mistake to make. They're so used to the way its made 99% of the time. Its ok. The coffee was good, i enjoyed it for sure. The waiter was very nice, apologized when I mention that the mushrooms were not added, Which i appreciate. This is the WORST Jerry Bobs In Tucson! I will NEVER go back! The last two times we have been there the cook has screwed up my order!! This time I asked to talk to the manager who comes over admitting she knew about the screw up and didn't come over to apologize or take the meal Off my tab! This location of Jerry Bobs isn't like the others around town. Each time I've been here they are extremely opinionated. For instance, I drink hot chocolate year-round. Whether it is in the 100s or the 60s, if you have it on the menu I'm ordering it. Whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner...I LOVE IT. Anyway, eachtime (about 6 times) I've been to this location the waitresses literally make fun of my hot chocolate loving self with rude comments that go beyond the joking question about who drinks hot chocolate at this time of year. During my last encounter the waitress (NOTE: a new one each visit) even went as far as telling me, "if you want hot chocolate go to McDonald's they serve all the time...we don't." I just come from having breakfast at this location. I have been going to this location for breakfast since it opened several years ago, and have never been disappointed. Today my waitress was Jennifer , she has waited on me several times, and has always given me excellent service. Customer service is about Zero whever you go now, but Jennifer goes above and beyond to give excellent service. Jerry Bob's should be proud to have her on their team. I am not one to pass judgement on a place on the first visit unless I'm outta town and. Not likely to come back anytime soon. Call a spade a spade, everybody has a bad day. This is my 3rd time here. I've said it before, it's tough to screw up breakfast, and even harder to make an awesome breakfast. Each time it has been a good breakfast. Nothing fantastic, but good. That's usually what I hope for. The O.J. Was actually better than I remember even though I'm sure it comes from the fountain. (Not positive, but it is good) The bacon isn't as thin as the "chains" but not as this as my favorite place in town, although it is the same price. My go-to dish (chicken fried steak) has been not to shabby all three times. My biscuits and gravy, I won't be getting that here again. Could be cause they were a little stingy with the gravy. If it is in the title of the meal, it should be a little more plentiful than it was. One thing I REALLY liked this last visit was that Tonya, my server actually listened to me when I ordered my eggs "really well done scrambled brown well done". I heard her ask the cook to please cook these eggs some more cause "he wants them Really well done". That was a first anywhere I have been. Big score Tonya. The place looks pretty clean, nice and bright and its pretty cool inside. The floor staff all seemed very friendly and my water wasn't empty for to long at all. Good job there. Quick service, friendly staff, good food= 4 stars. Portion and price are relative I think. I would expect a little lower price for the bacon, or bigger portions. Either way doesn't matter. Just what you expect in a local diner. Excellent grilled cheese sandwich and fries. My brother in laws pancakes looked perfect, just the right fluff and texture, no flat and rubbery pancakes here. My sister stumped the waitress when she asked what kind of gravy was on the open faced turkey sandwich, the response was "brown or white." When pressed for further info, we were told the gravys were exactly the same, only one brown and one white... Yes, sit and ponder that for a minute... My sister went with brown which ended up beef. Odd choice for turkey on the restaurants part, I'm really surprised they didn't have that one right. We suspect the white gravy may have been either turkey gravy or possibly the cream gravy you put on sausage biscuits. Who knows if it would have made more sense, the concern over white being sausage gravy made the choice difficult. Gravy conundrum aside, good prices, solid diner menu, friendly staff. I have been regularly having breakfast here for several years. Recently I was told to substitute tomatoes for potatoes would be a $1.50 charge per the owner. I asked to speak to the owner or manager but was told the owner comes in once a month and the manager has no set schedule. This charge is exorbitant and it is the only Jerry Bobs charging for the substitution that I know of. Tomatoes are selling year round for about $ .99/ lb. retail in the food markets. Went in today for a family lunch and it was a very good experience. We all came and and were quickly seated and had our orders taken. The drinks and appetizers (a few salads) came out almost immediately. The food was pretty good, nothing amazing, but definitely worth another visit some time. I must say that kaylee, our server, was amazing. There was six of us and not a cup went empty, and all our food was exactly how we asked for it. It is hard to find really good servers now and days but she is one of them. So all in all the food was good, and the service was outstanding. I will definitely be back some time. read more

My husband and I ate here on New Years Day, both a little hung over and needing a hearty breakfast for continuing on our road trip. We were looking for something that "did the trick" and this place did just that. The staff was obviously busy as the place was crowded, but they were efficient, and working together. Lots of warm-ups offered on the coffee, which does not always happen in a busy diner. The food was basic diner fare, but good and exactly what we wanted. Food was as good as any other place, but the service was lacking. At first, waitress asked too frequently for our order (like, two minutes from taking our drink order), but then never seem to come back for it (about 10+ minutes). I had a Buy One Get One Free entree coupon but found on my receipt that the cashier only gave me my kids meal for free, despite the fact that there were four adult entrees at my table. I understand that the kids meal was the cheapest item on the menu, but the coupon says " Enjoy one complimentary ENTREE when a second ENTREE of equal or greater value is purchased - Up to $7 Maximum Discount" That means my two $6.50 entrees should be valid, the same way that sort of deal works at other places. I know she applied the discount manually, so I know she intentionally chose which item to deduct, I'm just mad I didn't catch it until after I had left. The $3 difference may not be enough for me to go back for, but it is enough for me to complain about. Nickel and diming your customers does not make them happy. read more
