Pollo Milanese, note that it was cooked in a pan, seasoned and tasted so good. Gemelli Genovese was very good!

Went to New York last weekend for an Event at Peloton studios. No plan for where to eat afterwards, we did a quick check on Yelp and found this place. No reservation, but they were not busy that early about 5PM. By the time we left the place was almost full. The Service, Food and Ambiance were all great. So happy we found this place. If we are ever back that way, we will return. A gentleman did come out from the Kitchen to talk to the table next to us, they clearly knew each other, but his demeanor was kind and genuine towards the couple.

04/25/23: Another great dine. Arrived around 6:45 pretty crowded but we had reservations and was seated immediately. Ordered pretty much the same items as previous visit only different was todays scallops special. Tasty, felt it could have been cooked a tad more. Accompanying sauce great blend. Food was yummy as usual. Please staff, definitely will continue as long as they sustain these delicious meals. Lastly I asked to see bottle of dessert wine to determine if the same I had while in Italy. The bottle was different but what a surprise asked if we would like to sample. Yuuum it definitely tasted like the one in Italy. May need to order next time I visit.

My friend and I were going to meet at the start time of Sleep No More. I was free before then to grab a delicious dinner for myself. I literally stumbled upon Birrichino. And I was glad I did. A somewhat earlier dinner, they were getting crowded by the time I left. Upon entering, I couldn't help but noticing the cozy and Christmas-y welcoming atmosphere. The rustic, exposed brick added to the charm. Service (via Jordan and thank you) was attentive. I kept it simple and quick. I started with a smooth Chianti as a warm bread basket made its way to my table. The aroma of the bread coupled with the olive oil was quite good. Shortly after placing my order of Shrimp Arrabiata, the pasta arrived. A hearty portion that included 6 large shrimp in a spicy sauce allowed me to savor its deliciousness. Oh my, it was really good. I wish I had a plate of it now as I write this review. No time for dessert or anything else, I quietly and happily left this charming restaurant to meet my friend. Excellent and looking forward to returning.

I came here for dinner with a small group of friends. Our waitress was super friendly and sweet. They provided a generous amount of complimentary bread, sesame breadsticks, and olive oil for the table. We loved the arugula pear salad. The blue cheese, walnuts, and slightly sweet dressing paired perfectly together. For my main, I had the pappardelle ai funghi. It had a good amount of mushrooms and nice flavor from the shallots and rich cream sauce. My friends also enjoyed the orecchiette salumeria biellese and said the linguine nere was very flavorful. Their bottles of red wine start around $46. We enjoyed the Chianti. Though the restaurant is in a crowded neighborhood, it felt very under the radar so it's a nice option for a low key, satisfying Italian meal.

This is the last restaurant we ate at from our trip in Chelsea / Manhattan NYC. Biricchino Italian family run restaurant that open in 1987 has been in business for over 30 years, the owner Salumeria B. started out serving the community by making homemade cured meats plus sausages. The bar is right there on the right as you enter, we were led o our table, the table's and the floor are made of cobblestone marble, the decor of the walls is rustic bricks..."so Italian looking" Our waitress brought an assortment of bread with bread sticks along with some olive oil, we ordered pear salad, Crosini con Fontina, Fettuccine Cacio e pepe, Shrimp Arrabbiata, Custard tart, Tiramisu and last a couple glasses of Mosacto wine, all of our food was very flavorful. We were here on a Wednesday night and the restaurant wasn't crowded at all, but we had to wait for our food a pretty long time. The name Biricchino meaning is mischievous / naughty.

Great place in Chelsea for an Italian meal. Apparently the owners started out making Italian cold cuts so I thought either the sausages or salumeria plate was a good start. We chose the sausages and boy were they good. We ordered the small platter an md it was still a huge amount. All the sausages we obviously freshly made and full of labor with different spices. The platter had Aragua and grilled onions. A must get. We also got of their house salads which was wonderfully fresh and nicely garnished. For an entre we had the pappardelle Al fungi. This dish is jus mason yne blend of the heavy cream, pancetta and mushrooms with the pasta is just perfect. Truly an outstanding dish. Today on. Wednesday we found only 3 other tables occupied so this not the NYC I remember but the dining room is very mice with brick walls and granite tables and floor. They have a nice wine list l, cocktails and a few Italian beers. The cannoli was the only semi miss. It was just ok. All around a very good place to get your Italian fix

I ordered the Lamb Ragù pasta, and every bite was packed with rich, slow-cooked flavor. To start, my brother and I shared a pizza and the lobster appetizer, and both were incredible. My brother ordered the truffle pasta, and after stealing a few bites, I can honestly say it was just as unforgettable. The atmosphere was on another level. Management was very accommodating on various levels - no need to describe the details as it's not relevant for an average review. know before you go - you literally have no other cheese but to have cheese in your pasta. Note that this is not a place for lactose intolerant kinds. I thought the concept was fresh pasta (which it is) but their ultimate menu items must include that cheese wheel. So fine. I figured they can at least give a non-cheese dish but rules are the rules. The place was packed on a weekend early evening. Lines were not forming (like it showed in the viral videos) but they were cooking up quite a bit at the front, because of carry out orders. Either way, on all angles - literally pretty much everything is ALL good and very positive. However, the one thing that needs to be addressed is that wheel made of cheese. Whoever created that chunk of a wheel, kudos to them/company. By golly - that gargantuan of a wheel was so filled with calories - I kid you not, it almost converted me to being lactose intolerant! So if you're about to have triple bypass the next day, I do not recommend this joint until you're fully healed. Yes, the flavors were good, but the cheesey elements were just too too rich. You also cannot tell them to lessen it, it's just set the way they cook the pasta within that barrel. Otherwise, the decor/ambience was nice, and tidy aspects really show through. Customer service was wonderful. Support your local businesses!

Was also thoughtful in handing us our orders correctly which was nice. For the food itself I heard good things and was hoping to love it more-- but I think I was slightly disappointed. The flavors aren't so bad overall and if you have a pasta itch it'll scratch. But I've tried other places better at a similar or even cheaper price point with protein added in. I got the "some like it hot" while my friend got "midnight desire" with burrata added in. I paid about 22 for each dish. Now for my thoughts - flavor for "some like it hot" was not bad, sauce was a slight bit watery for my liking. The spice was nice and I liked that part the most. Pasta was "OK". The ravioli was stuck together for some, filling was adequate but, I would've liked a little more. I don't want to sound harsh, but it was all around just an ok spot. Maybe it was just that day. Burrata added is nice, I took mine to go do sadly it was melted on top (recommend to pack the burrata separately for to go orders) - "midnight desire" is basically vodka and the flavor for this one was kind of odd for me. Not the normal vodka I am used to. I personally wouldn't really get it again. It wasn't a bad sauce, just not like vodka I know. Had a slight "bitter(?)" aftertaste from some seasoning I guess. I'm not a pasta connoisseur but I AM Italian and I've tasted a wide ranger of pastas lol-- I think yummy cheese pasta in Hell's Kitchen offers a similar concept, portion but is more filling, diverse options for adding and overall, slightly cheaper. Perhaps I'll give this place another try on another day..
