The pizza is delicious, and you can genuinely taste the care and quality ingredients they put into the dough. You absolutely must get the "Gotta Get Them All" box,it's the best way to try their unique range! They were once just a pizza spot, but the word is out: their Smashburgers are now legendary (I'm trying one next!). A quick note: they focus strictly on pizza and burgers, so no alcohol is served. The owner/chef is incredibly nice and makes every visit feel like a true experience. It's the kind of place where you get high-quality food served with top-notch hospitality. Go!

Walking into Big Trouble felt like being transported back in time to an old school diner with old school vibes. They have their slices available and burgers made to order. Service was great, friendly staff and everything was done well by them. As for the food, they had 5 different pizza slices available and opted for the burger and pizza combo with the homemade ranch. Got the MF Prashoots which had good truffle flavour. Probably didn't need the ranch to go with it especially with all the flavours, but the ranch was still amazing. As for the burger, just opted for the Big Trouble burger. It had the nice lacey edges and good flavour without being dry. The special sauce was a bit on the sweeter side, but it's a no frills burger and it was a good portion. Overall, a nice spot if you're deciding between smash burgers and pizza, or just want both.

4.5/5 Prior to COVID, Big Trouble Pizza was one of my favorite pizza spots in Toronto, known for its unique pizza combinations like Raspberry Jam, Balsamic Reduction, and Mozzarella or Prosciutto, Cremini Mushrooms, and Truffle-Infused Ricotta. After closing their previous location, they've now reopened bigger and better, expanding their menu to include not only pizza but also burgers. Since I had previously reviewed their pizza a few years back, this review will focus primarily on their burgers. Upon recommendation from one of the workers, I decided to try the Big Trouble Burger (the original), even though I've sampled many smash burgers across Toronto. The first bite was a revelation--the soft potato bun, the crispy crust of the beef patty with the perfect fat-to-meat ratio, and the standout element, the sauce. That extra sweetness, which may go unnoticed by most, made my eyes widen in awe. Aside from Extra Burger, I have not had a burger that has impressed me this much in a long time, 9.5/10. The burger was so exceptional that I had to compliment the chef, who insisted I try the other two burgers on the menu--the Kwispy Wanch Burger and the Roast-Lahoma Burger. Firstly, I must express my abhorrent disdain for the name of the Kwispy Wanch Burger. However, setting the name aside, the burger has all the makings of a top-tier burger. I would rate this burger a 7.5/10. What it lacks is the tanginess, which can come from the ranch or the pickled onions, or from pickling the jalapeños. Though, I did really like the fresh crunch the jalapeños provided. The Roast-Lahoma Burger also earns a 7.5/10 rating from me. The essence of the Oklahoma Burger lies in letting the sweetness of the onions shine, where the vapour of the onions would perfume the beef. Unfortunately, the onions naturally sweetness was overshadowed by the dijonnaise. Although roasting the onions was a good idea, I felt there was a lack of onion flavour which can come from cooking the onions a bit longer to bring out their natural sweetness. In conversation with Eddie, the mastermind behind these burgers, I gained insight into his dedication to quality and consistency. He emphasized his close collaboration with the butcher next door to ensure a consistent fat-to-meat ratio in each burger. Eddie's meticulous approach involves preparing a small portion of the meat blend each morning and cooking it to perfection to maintain consistent quality. Overall, including both burgers and the pizza, I give Big Trouble a solid 4.5/5. I'm hopeful that they'll become a neighborhood staple and continue to delight customers with their creative and delicious food.

This is a pizza and burger restaurant that recently opened 2023-04-15. They used to have a location in Chinatown (Spadina Ave), but it closed during the pandemic. I was at the Chinatown location on 2018-09-06. Their slices are a descent size and are thick. We ordered the following: 1. The Keanu (slice , $6.00). 2. Crispy Fries ($5.00). 3. Water (bottle, $2.50). The pizza tasted good. The fries are thinly coated and are indeed very crispy. They also serve smash burgers. Next time. The service is courteous and friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is easy-listening music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are two gender-neutral washrooms, but they are not wheelchair accessible. There is 1 hour of free neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-192

Craving carbs? Hidden on the west end of downtown Toronto, you gotta try out Big Trouble Pizza! You can order slices or a box. The MF Prashoots came with mushrooms, truffle, and mozzarella. Can't go wrong with this combination! The Keanu slice came with smoked cheddar, pancetta, pineapple, cream cheese. Super flavourful Lastly, the smashed burgers were simple but delicious. I do wish the bun was toasted more, but overall it was very good! Overall, this spot was nice. Good place to chill with friends and grab a slice of pizza (or a box for yourself, no one is judging). The service was quick and the wait wasn't long at all. 10/10 would come again

Stopped by Big Trouble for a friend's meetup and recommendation. The area around the shop was a lovely and peaceful neighbourhood. Upon entering, it's a very cozy spot with plenty of seating, though most patrons seem to prefer takeout. The service was friendly and quick. Unsure of what to try, we were recommended the "gotta get them all box," which allowed us to sample six different flavours. Each slice had its unique flavour and tang. Overall, an amazing choice thanks to my friend's suggestion. You won't be disappointed!

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

Nice local Italian restaurant that is enjoyed by us locals as well as those who come down for shows…read moreat the St Lawrence ctr for the arts and the Meridian Hall as well as sports fan here for games. They have a great stock of wines and an impressive drink list that we don't get to enjoy as we can't handle drinks these days. We do enjoy the food and the friendly service immensely tho. Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
