    Yup, pretty burnt.

Well, I was in the neighbourhood, and they are a highly rated pizza place, so...what was I supposed to do, NOT go? The vibe inside is slightly upscale classic pizza joint. Formica (?) tables and hard chairs. But who cares if the food is good? They have some classic and some innovative slices. I got a cheese/vodka sauce/pesto combination slice. Also, to justify my fancy Elite title, I got a hot honey dip. Price-wise, it didn't feel too much more ezpensive than one of the many horrible chains our city must suffer with. Service was efficient and pleasant. To get the bad out of the way, the lower part of the crust was burnt. Not well-done, which I can fully support, but burnt. So I've had better first bites fron other places. Beyond that, the pesto was very good. I don't really get vodka sauce, because I really never taste anything special about it. But as a tomato sauce, it was bright and savoury. Tasty cheese, thin crust, good chew. So they lost one star for the burnt portion. I'm sure, though, that if I ordered a full pizza from here, it wouldn't have the same problem.

If you're after the best slices in T.O them meet Mac's and their Tie-Dye pie, it's crispy, excellent sauce and fantastic dough. Definitrly one of the best tie-dye and slices around the city-- this place tops the list.

One of those hidden gems in Toronto and one of my favourite pizza spots to hit up. The limited menu makes it so good with every option being so delicious! I love the customer service, the slices are huge. Ever just craving some good pizza head over here! 9/10 recommend!

3.25/5 Got a slice of the vodka and white pie. The vodka pizza seems to be the most popular order here, but our slice was dry and just seemed kind of ... old? Disappointing wah, the crust was good though! The white pie slice was good though, and I would give it itself a 3.5/5. I loveeee hot honey on pizza though, so maybe I'm biased????

I'd just finished a day at TIFF and I decided to get some fresh air by going for a long walk, and I thought to myself, "you know what would really improve this walk? A nice slice of pizza." So I pulled up Google Maps and did a search for pizza, and Mac's Pizza came up and was highly rated. I walked in and the place was doing quite well, but I didn't have to wait more than a couple minutes to place my order. A quick peek at their slices on offer led me directly to the Angry Pepperoni ("Tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, jalapeño, basil, Mac's Hot Honey, parm"). It was ready within minutes and I began walking again. I didn't expect anything too mind-blowing but that's what I got. It was one of the best slices of pizza I'd had in a while, and I was in New York City just a few short weeks ago. (Actually the place reminded me of a typical NYC pizza joint in terms of ambiance and quality.) All the components worked so well together, from the delicious pepperoni to the zesty sauce to that perfect hot honey. And it didn't have that dry, leftover taste that I usually associate with pizza slices. Mac's Pizza is an obvious winner and undoubtedly one of the best pizza joints in the city. I'll definitely be returning.

I love the ease of Mac's Pizza's online ordering system via their website so that's always my first choice when it comes to placing my order. It offers up their full menu plus descriptions of each pie. You can order for pickup ASAP or scheduled, or be redirected to Skip The Dishes for delivery. There was a hiccup this time around as upon pick up, I inquired about the dip I ordered and was told by the two employees that it was in the box. When it came time to enjoy the pizza though, I opened the box to find no dip. I messaged Mac's Pizza via their Instagram account as I've found it to be an easy and accessible way to get a hold of them and they respond quickly and promptly. They apologized for the error, saying mistakes happen, and was offered a refund for the dip (which is still pending for the following morning) and a free slice on my next visit. Now onto the pizza itself, talk about a photogenic slice! My first impression of this VODKA PEPPERONI SPECIAL was, "wow, what a good looking pizza!" It has a vodka cream sauce base, mozzarella, and then the cutest dollops of ricotta, Ezzo pepperoni, basil, and parmesan. I personally preferred this version of their pepperoni pizza more than the Angry Pepperoni, as it was overall, less salty. Mac's Pizza offers up an unbelievably thin crust, with the crisper undercarriage, meaning NO floppy, soggy slices. I felt like this was definitely a crispier crust than the White Pie I ordered on my last visit. If you love the crispy edges on a grilled cheese, this will be right up your alley.

This spot had some pretty delicious pizza! We tried the angry pepperoni ($30) which came with pepperoni and jalapeños which to my disappointment wasn't actually too spicy. But it was still a good pizza! was simple but super fresh and juicy. The tomato sauce was excellent. Overall, a good spot and wouldn't mind coming back if I'm nearby!

Ordered the 18" "Cheese pie" pie ($27.99, used to be $26). Asked for almost "well-done." The dough was the best aspect: Bottom-side and edges were crisp on the outside without being dry, and bubbly and airy inside (this pie was actually one of the lighest weight 18" pies I've carried!), but the top-side, underneath the cheese, was somewhat under-done, even though the cheese was a thin (yet adequate) layer. Cheese was fine (nothing standout). The weakest aspect of the pie to me, was the tomato sauce: it was boring and almost unappetizing (as if they used Unico tomatoes) and somewhat watery. I appreciate that they dont advertise as "New York style" or any other style. This strip of Bloor, from Dufferin to Lansdowne, is loaded with established pizza restos: (unique and superb) Levant Pizza, (unique and quirky) Ambassador Pizza, (over-rated) Maker Pizza, (old-school and reputable) 241 Pizza, (amazing and reputable) Conzo's Pizza (and Sugo next door), (cheap and unique) Chito's Pizza. In this crowd, I would conclude that Mac's Pizza has easily one of the best doughs of them all, but one of the weaker tomato sauces. Essentially, it is almost, but not quite, as good Conzo's, but in the same league, overall. Definitely a must-try if in the area. And they also offer slices of their signature pies (at least $5 each, and did not try).

    Very small

Friendly staff, it quickly took over another pizza spot, can't recall the name.. MAC'S has great sauce, pepperoni, and especially the crust. Almost $6 fora slice is pretty normal these days, yet this is significantly smaller than just about any slices you'd get elsewhere. More a SNACK, than a MEAL.

Everyone has their opinions on the best pizza in Toronto, Mac's is definitely top 5 for me! Great pizza, no frills! You can grab and go, or there's seating to chat. The staff is friendly and provides good service. This was my first time and it far exceeded my expectations, I didn't think I would enjoy it that much. My friend and I originally ordered 1 slice each but ended up going back for a 2nd! Don't forget to get the hot honey!

Cute little place where you can pizza slices and sit down to eat. I like that the most because no one wants to eat a slice outside when it's cold. We loved the lemon head that one was outstanding. We also got the cheese, vodka and mushroom which were all good. Get the lemon head!

Great pizza find! Went on a Saturday around 6ish and there was no line at all and most of the tables were free. There's about 4 tables plus a bar with stools near the front window. The slices are about $5/$5.50 and they also have local beers and wines. I tried the lemon head and vodka pizza and both were delicious with a perfect crust. I'm so surprised that this place doesn't have a long line like Badialis, but I'm selfish and glad it doesn't so I can get my pizza quicker haha! The workers are also really nice :)

It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

Nice local Italian restaurant that is enjoyed by us locals as well as those who come down for shows…read moreat the St Lawrence ctr for the arts and the Meridian Hall as well as sports fan here for games. They have a great stock of wines and an impressive drink list that we don't get to enjoy as we can't handle drinks these days. We do enjoy the food and the friendly service immensely tho. Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
