I came on a weekend lunch. They have a sit-down section as well as a takeout section. Althogh I made a reservation, the place did not have many people so you may be able to just walk in as well. I ordered the anatra pizza, my friend got the rigatoni aI funghi, and the arancini di asparagi to share. The anatra pizza was surprisingly really good. That's where the expectations were set but the next repeat dish we got one had lesser quantities and two the pasta seemed slightly uncooked. Consistency is key and that's why the start that made me rate them 5 on 5 brought it down to 3. Mushroom pasta barely gave the taste of truffle. I was specifically looking for a good truffle pasta and it was just average. Pizza was nice but little too much dressing for a thin crust making it difficult to grab and eat. It was a small place, but I don't understand why they are charging so much for such a small portion of pasta. I respect that they make the pasta from scratch, because a lot of places buy store bought pasta. I got the papardelle osso bucco, the pasta was good, the sauce was really good and the beef melts in your mouth, the reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because they charged 30 bucks for such small portion of pasta, but I can't claim them I bought pasta in gusto 101 and they also charged 30 bucks for a pasta, and they make their pasta from scratch as well. This weekend i got a chance to visit this cute Italian place on Sunday evening. It is on road side and you can choose a window table and look at the park in front while enjoying your meal. I went with 3 of my friends and we had fun. Food was amazing, staff was sweet and ambience was lively! Oh my, I was excited to try this spot after driving by many, many times. I was not disappointed! We had it for take out so it would have been even better if we had eaten it in. We had the oro pizza, the meat lovers one, and it was awesome. It had a lovely chew to the crust and wonderful basil flavour, the n'udja sausage was also very tasty and not over powering and salty like most are. On the whole spectacular. The caccio e pepe was also very good. It had some truffle in it which is unusual but it wasn't over powering but added a really nice flavour to the dish. On the whole I was suoer impressed. Maybe my favourite pizza in the city, miles ahead of Badiali which people seem to like for some reason. Very authentic atmosphere and just absolutely fantastic food - you know it's the real deal when you walk past the customers and hear almost everyone speaking Italian! This time, we were in the mood for pasta and chose the gnocchi pomodoro and rigatoni ai funghi. The meal was off to a great start with some delicious complimentary bread - not the boring plain ones normally served (somewhat stale) at many restaurants, this was soft, fluffy, and seasoned with something similar to cinnamon. Then, the mains arrived in a cloud of amazing smells (the cheese!) and we hurriedly dug in. The gnocchi had the perfect degree of chewiness and was topped with a richly flavoured tomato sauce. The rigatoni was not to be outdone either, with the pasta cooked al dente and mixed with an earthy, creamy truffle sauce. Although we were stuffed after the generous portions, we made room in our stomach for their refreshing gelato selection - a superb finish to our dinner. Service was exceptional as always - our server was very friendly and attentive: we never needed to raise a hand to get our water glasses refilled as he would inconspicuously come around to check if we needed anything. They were out of their daily mango sorbet, but as I asked about it the green apple sorbet was brought out and defrosted. The interior is modest but relaxing, and prices are extremely reasonable considering it's only a short walk from the downtown core. The food was really just... okay. The service was fine and food came out very fast, but from the bread to the pizza I was just really not impressed, especially given all the good reviews. - The arancini were dry and were reminiscent more of hush puppies. - The pappardelle osso bucco was probably the best dish we had but it just wasn't that flavorful despite the rich looking tomato sauce. - The penne gamberi also looked great but the sauce fell flat... kind of just tasted like plain cream. I will say the shrimp in the dish (4 of them) were cooked very nicely and were plump and succulent. - The Vesuvio pizza was really not good. While I appreciated the density of toppings applied, unfortunately the dough was not strong enough to hold anything and the minute I picked up a piece, everything slid off revealing soggy dough below. The eggplant was so salty it was nearly inedible... I suspect no one rinsed off the eggplant when they were trying to dehydrate it for frying. Pizza Oro: Good portions of toppings and the pizza sauce were delicious. The pizza was thin but wasn't too soggy with the toppings. Rigatoni al Funghi: The sauce was good, lots of flavour with the white truffle sauce. Great option if you're already a fan of rigatoni. Calamari Fritti: Different breading they use for the calamari, which was still crispy yet light which is a nice change from other places. The portions were decent to share with a group of friends. The service was good despite being a busy weekend night. Only downside that the seating is a bit tight that you might likely end up being near the door, but besides that, it's totally worth coming. The gamberetti a la griglia with diavolo sauce were AWESOME! I could have eaten 3 plates of those, actually. We then shared the Prosciutto di Parma and Burrata pizza - it was real Burrata and Prosciutto di Parma, not Mozzarella and ordinary smoked ham - absolutely perfect char on their tasty, slightly chewy dough and their delightfully bright red tomato / basil sauce We also had their pappardelle with ossobucco ragú - pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the sauce... the sauce was every bit as luxurious and tasty as it sounds.
