This restaurant smelt amazing as soon as we walked in and the food did not disappoint. We enjoyed a few of the pasta dishes, Alla Vodka & the Linguine in addition to Arancini and Bruschetta to start. The food was all delicious and reasonably priced. Our service was very friendly, gave honest thoughts about menu items which was appreciated in helping us decide our order. The restaurant's was small, but had a great ambience with views of the busy street ahead. They do not take reservations, it is first come first serve for seating and you must remain on the premises if you are waiting for a table. The location is easily accessible by public transit, I do not recommend driving as the street in front is often gridlocked and there is no easily accessible parking - if you are driving I would recommend taking an Uber. read more

We went here on a last minute last minute, whim, and they were out of the seat us without much trouble. The staff were very friendly, and were always coming around to make sure we were getting good service. There's a lot of pastas and sauces and wines on the wall that you can grab on the way out and added a nice touch to the restaurant. The kitchen was open concept so you could see the kitchen stuff making your food. There was a family with a couple little kids who went to go thank the kitchen staff which was very cute. We got some bruschetta to start which is really tasty and for mains we got a pasta and pasta to share. The portions were really big and I would say a very solid main courses. Small cup of pasta with a nice tomato sauce, 2 thin slices of a baguette, side salad with a vinaigrette and a pretty big veal cutlet. Pasta was nice and they give you some Parmesan on the side. The sauce is quite tasty. The salad was just a salad, but greens are good for you so balances out the meal. The star though was the veal cutlet. Wish I had a proper knife and fork to eat it, plastic wasn't doing to well, but that is no fault of this establishment. The veal was delicious, and I was quite satisfied with it. I've been a loyal customer of Fusaro's Kitchen for 17 years, dining there regularly and ordering catering for events. I don't know if the management has changed, but something certainly has. In October, I hosted a small gathering and ordered paninis, sandwiches, and salad for the evening. I paid for delivery, but a week before, the manager called to say they could no longer deliver and I would need to pick up the food myself. I agreed and was told to arrive at 5:30 p.m. on the day of my event. On the day of the event, when I arrived to pick up the food, the employee told me they were closed. She explained that there had been a break-in the night before, and they hadn't been able to prepare my order. It was just an hour before my event, and I was shocked. I extended my sympathy for what had happened and was very understanding, but asked why I hadn't been notified earlier to make other arrangements. They had the whole day!!! She said they tried calling. When I checked my phone, I saw they had called while I was en route--too late to make a difference. The catering manager arrived, flustered, and I asked why I hadn't been contacted sooner. She responded that she was "dealing with business" and had no time. I reminded her that I was the business--without customers, there is no business. Her response was rude, and she didn't seem to understand that managing customer relations during a crisis is part of her job. She promised a refund, but my main concern was that I had no food for my guests, just an hour before the event. Despite my attempts to remain calm, the manager dismissed me mid-conversation. I reminded them that a part of management responsibility was to manage crisis. How on earth a CATERING MANAGER does not think of calling the clients waiting for food they had ordered for a party? what if this was a milestone birthday or a wedding? I left the restaurant frustrated and upset. A few days later, I was contacted for my credit card details to process the refund. Then I was told the amount was too large to refund via card, and I needed to pick up cash. When I went to the restaurant a week later, the cash wasn't available, and the machine was down. I was told to return on Monday to get the cash, but I was given a narrow window of time during my work hours. It felt disrespectful. I finally went back today (Friday), only to be told the refund had been processed on my card. I picked the receipt after checking my online banking and left without speaking to the manager, as I was fed up. After reading reviews, I realized this wasn't the first time this has happened, and I didn't see the point in providing feedback--if they didn't learn from previous complaints, they wouldn't learn from mine. Fusaro's Kitchen has lost a loyal customer. I know one customer won't bankrupt them, but they've lost someone who trusted them for nearly two decades. Loyal customers are the most important asset of a business and they should be treated with respect. Not only them, but everyone as humans! On the day of my event, all they had to do was apologize and try to make things right. Instead, I got poor service, rude behavior, and dismissiveness. I won't be returning or recommending them to anyone. I'm deeply disappointed, as Fusaro's Kitchen used to be one of my favorite places, a nice family-run business, but now it feels like a shadow of what it used to be.... read more

I needed a quick lunch and came here for a panini. All of their paninis are made fresh and come with a side garden salad. As I waited for my order I browsed around where you can buy all kinds of Italian groceries. I also observed the people enjoying lunch and saw giant plates of pasta that had my mouth water. I've passed by this place so many times but never got to try it until now. The outside looked nothing special but the interior gave off a cozy vibe. The food here is pretty good and the prices are fair. As with most Italian places, we were given a few pieces of bread drenched in olive oil. I like how this place drenched the bread for you instead of you having to dip it yourself because it helps to reduce food waste. But that's just my 2 cents LOL! To start, we had the calamari fritte which is a fried calamari (pretty much the first thing I always order from any Italian place LOL). In comparison, I actually like the ones from Fusaro's the most because it tasted less greasy than other places. The outside was crispy but the inside tasted really fresh. I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely order this again next time. For the pastas, I had the Fiorentina while my bf had the Siciliana. The Fiorentina features rigatoni pasta with chicken in a pesto basil sauce. I enjoyed it a lot but actually ended up liking the Siciliana a lot more. The Siciliana is a penne pasta with hot Italian sausage in a tomato sauce. I liked it more because it's more flavourful than the Fiorentina. As a person who prefers more flavourful foods, I was in the mood for something a bit spicy and Siciliana was able to accomplish that. I'd definitely come back here again to try the different pastas. Wow, gotta say I'm impressed with the food here (note: I've only tried their food through foodora so this review will be based solely on their food quality)! We ordered around 15 dishes from Fusaro's for the office - a slew of pizzas, pastas, paninis, salads, and soups. I ordered the primavera pasta with the chicken add-on and I don't want to brag or anything, but my dish looked the most appetizing out of everyone's. The vegetables (zucchini, red pepper, broccoli, spinach) tasted really fresh and the chicken is real chunks of chicken which is quite worth the addon IMO. The sauce has a good flavour as well, but wasn't a fan of it being on the runny side. They also added a container of parmesan to sprinkle on top of your pasta, which was a nice touch. Minus one star because the bread that came with the pasta did not come with any olive oil or butter, which makes all the difference to me. read more

Interior is really cute and cozy... rustic wooden tables as well as string lights dangling across the ceiling. Perfect for catching up with friends or date night. They have a regular menu as well as a separate one which feature specials. To start we shared the olives which come with a few pieces of bread. Not bad for $6! For my entree I got the seafood linguine and it tasted pretty delicious. Portion was just right for me. My friend ordered a pasta (the name escapes me...) that was supposed to come with capers but unfortunately they missed them in the dish. No worries though because after letting our waitress know she apologized and promptly brought them out on the side. 4 stars is totally accurate for Fusaro's. Fusaro's is a decent Italian lunch-spot. I have only tried the pasta options, since the paninis sit out on the counter. The pasta dishes that I have tried include the alla vodka, the salsiccia e rapini, the acritano, and the gnocchi. The acritano and gnocchi are my favorites. I'm not usually a gnocchi fan, but their potato gnocchi is soft and tasty. Fusaro's gets very busy during the noon lunch-hour, and you can wait 15 minutes or more. Update: I have tried the chef's special risotto and was not impressed. I've had better risotto elsewhere. Tip: There are 2 lines. We were seated at a table that felt like it was a common walk way by the front door so requested if we could be moved and the waitress refused to move us saying she couldn't offer up a four person table to two people, even though there were plenty and the place wasn't even half full. On to the food: Bruschetta: bread used was good nice and toasted not overly hard. The tomatoes were tasteless and bland which ruins this dish no matter how good the bread is. Did not taste like bruschetta at all. My wife ordered the rigatoni Bolognese with a rose sauce. She did not enjoy it at all saying it was watered down sauce with chunks of bland tomatoes. I had the penne ala vodka with meatballs as a sub for the bacon my dish was not bad food came out piping hot, sauce was decent meatballs were small and tasteless. It had meats, cheeses, grilled vegetables, and small sides like pesto sauce and marinated jalapeños. The pasta were all fresh and delicious. It definitely has the homemade taste of newly made sauce. Portions were pretty decent, and I took half of the pasta to go since I had the antipasto already. The service was good and they gave us water whenever we ran out and packed our boxes to take leftovers. I'd say it was just the right level of service without them watching you or ignoring you. Overall the bill came to less than $25 for a pasta and half the antipasto platter. So all that plus the great price makes it 5/5. We came in on an early Friday evening, around 6:30 or so. Restaurant was mostly full but there were one to two tables clear so we didn't have to wait long. Service was great, the waitress came by quickly with waters and told us to take our time. Service remained constant throughout too which I appreciate. I ordered the penne vodka. The plate was huge and came in pipping hot from the kitchen. For the price, it was an absolute steal for fresh Italian food. I went in here to get some takeaway. I had a very basic pasta that was not really worth the effort to me. I was really hoping it would be good, as my co-worker had recommended it to me. But I just found the pasta to be bland and not really flavourful. I've been to Italy now and had some really authentic pasta so perhaps it's tainted my palette.
