I was surprised there was only one unisex washroom to use. The lock didn't lock properly for me. There is minimal decoration. Nothing to wow about. Old school tablecloth for an Italian eatery. The eggplant parmigiana sandwich was chewy and delicious. The portion was good. The side salad had a light vinaigrette, but I felt the portion of it was small. Was pretty weak - thin firm crust with no crunchiness or burn. Toppings were the kind you would get on a grocery store bought Delissio pizza. Cheese tasted like kind you would get in a pizza pop. - Calamari - very small bit rubbery similar to what you would get from M&Ms with a small side dipping sauce. Service (4/5) - servers were attentive and friendly - no issues here. Atmosphere (3/5) - i get they are going for a bit rustic look but the place is a bit run down. Washrooms need updating, tables and floors are a bit beat up. Like the open kitchen concept though. Overall (3/5) - seems like a locals place to me. This unexpected mom and pop restaurant is heavenly. My boyfriend brought me here for dinner one night saying the pasta is amazing and he did not lie! We had wandered by while in the area, looking for a dinner spot and lucked out when a reservation cancelled. It is a small place in port credit with tight sitting on the inside. We sat out on the patio which was roomier but still very casual. We were seated near the back stairs which were covered in spider webs. The view from the back is a building on one side, a shed at the back and a parking lot on the other side. Not much to look at but nice to be outside on a lovely summer day. The staff were super friendly and the food was decent. Service was slow while we were there even though there were only about four other tables being occupied. It took a while for drinks and our orders to be taken. Luckily, the food made up for it! My husband got the olive and cheese platter to start and the Calabrese pizza. The olive and cheese platter was overpriced for what it was. It was $12.99 for a bunch of olives, some cheese slices, a few toasted bread pieces, and fruit. I wouldn't recommend to get that. I ordered the Americano pizza and my sister got the Del Mare pasta. This was a frustrating experience because I really wanted to like this restaurant; it always caught my eye whenever I came to Port Credit. My partner and I shared a Calamari, I got the Smoked Duck Pasta and they got the Pesto Chicken Penne. We waited for around half an hour for the calamari and they came overdone, rubbery on the inside, hard on the outside. We then waited forty minutes... for pasta. Our waiter was kind and reassured us that our food was coming despite the wait. Both pastas came in a thin and watery sauce. I tried a bit of my partners Pesto pasta and it was decent, he ate around 1/4 of it and didn't want to finish it. The duck pasta was not good, it was too salty but also tasted of uncooked alcohol. Papa Guiseppe serves a variety of Italien cuisine but their speciality is the pizza. They have a nice stone oven and the thin crust pizza they make from it are delicious! We ordered a deluxe pizza (pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers - also pretty sure the restaurant called the pizza a different name) and it was fantastic. The crust was thin and crispy and the flavor was excellent. The pizza went very well with the garden salad we ordered (salad + additional chicken). Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant! Due to covid, we ordered outside through the window which was pretty seamless, and we came back in about 10 minutes to receive our food.
