There is a lot of care taken into the bar arrangement, as it is visually stunning as well as containing amazing offerings especially in the wine category. Risotto special featuring shrimp and mushrooms had a nice flavour but the risotto was undercooked and too hard. Malfadie Alla norcina was excellent and heavy. Creamy truffle taste coupled with sausage was the best dish of the day. Spicy pepperoni pizza was the best of the two pizzas. Clearly fresh and good flavour. Pizza dough was nice and thin. Pizza Bianca was a miss for us. The soft texture of the potato on top of the pizza was very strange to us and made the entire pizza feel weird. Overall, a repeatable solid Mississauga Italian place. Interesting experience overall. Food: there was a hair in my food, they replaced the food pretty quickly though and were very apologetic. They did not remove the food automatically from the bill which was surprising but after I asked, they removed it from my entire bill. The food itself was AMAZING tho! Capra's Kitchen offers a solid, if unremarkable, Italian dining experience. It's one of those places that doesn't necessarily do anything wrong but also doesn't quite stand out in the crowded field of Italian eateries. The highlight of our meal was definitely the Beet Salad, which was nothing short of fantastic. A perfect balance of earthy sweetness from the beets, paired with the tang of cheese and fresh greens--it was recommended to us, and I'm glad we took the advice. It easily earns a 10/10. As great as it was, I was looking forward to the mains, but we weren't that impressed. We had the Calabrese Pizza and the Beef and Spinach Cannelloni. Both were fine, but neither left a lasting impression. The pizza was topped with standard ingredients--nothing too exciting--and the flavors were decent but felt a little one-note. They did make it spicy and put some spicy sauce on it for me, but it didn't really do the trick. The cannelloni was hearty but lacked any boldness; the beef filling didn't have the depth of flavor I was hoping for, and the spinach didn't add anything particularly exciting. We were fairly full but not quite impressed with the food, so we opted out of dessert. This place was recommended by a friend. The vibes were great and service was impeccable. But considering this is one of Massimo Capra's restaurants, we expected better tasting food. Overall, Capra's Kitchen is a good option if you're in the area and craving a straightforward Italian meal, but it doesn't quite deliver the wow factor that would make it a standout destination. I've visited a few times for brunch, lunch and dinner in the three years we've lived in the neighbourhood and overall I enjoy Capra's. Service is friendly and professional but can sometimes be a bit slow so would say visit when not in a rush. I like that brunch resos can be made online (may not matter to some but I appreciate it lol). The food I've tried has been delicious. I've enjoyed their hipster avocado toast and beef salad. Most recently I enjoyed a fish feature with a ceasar for lunch with my stepdad. Will return again someday soon! read more

I ordered the wrong menu item accidentally (my fault) and they were so nice to replace it with what I thought I ordered at no charge. Came to celebrate a birthday after a day of non-stop eating, so we decided to share a bunch of items between four people. We started with the bag of bread and the buffala mozzarella, followed by the funghi pizza and gramigna & pistachio pasta. Our bag of bread came in a dish, which was unexpected as the menu specifically said bag..... did they run out of bags? Anyhow, the spicy tomato spread was good with the four types of bread in the dish. The buffala was an excellent choice to have with the bread, as it brought some fresh and creamy flavors. Funghi pizza was perfect to share between four people, a good amount of mushrooms but not as umami as I would expect. The star of the meal was the pasta, which perfectly made curly bucatini in a pistachio pesto. Absolutely delicious and worth coming back for. A few years ago, we took a trip to Niagara Falls and ate a terrific meal at Massimo's. I mean, it was honestly one of the best and tastiest dining experiences of our lives, so when I discovered that Massimo Capra had another restaurant a mere 20 minutes away from our apartment, I knew we'd be eating there sooner or later. We arrived right on time for our reservation and were shown to a small table with two other tables a few inches away on either side. This meant that we could hear every single word uttered by the diners on both sides of us, which ensured that the evening was hardly the romantic dinner we had been counting on and hoping for. (It's also worth noting that the restaurant was really, really hot and humid, to the extent that when I went to the washroom, my face was all flushed. And I was pretty sweaty by the time we left, too.) Adding insult to injury was our server, who was extremely apathetic and unhelpful. I was planning to order a few drinks over the course of the evening, but she didn't even ask if I wanted a cocktail or wine at any point. And then when I took the initiative and said I wanted one of their cocktails, the Purple Butterfly, I was told that they don't have that anymore. Why is it on the menu, then?? Anyway, we decided to start with an order of the Mix Olives ("Warm Gourmet Olives, Rosemary Lemon, Garlic, Peperoncino") and the Insalata Napoletana salad ("Blended Lettuca, Radish, Onions, Tomato, Green & Black Olives, Pickled and Roasted Peppers"). I'll admit that I enjoyed both of these dishes. The warm olives were very tasty, and I liked the inclusion of garlic and peppers in there, too. The salad was just as good, as it contained plenty of tasty components. For my main, I went with the Tagliatelle Al Ragu ("P.G.P. Tagliatelle, Beef & Pork, Pancetta, Crushed Tomatoes, Wine, Soffritto") and it was a disappointment. The sauce itself was decent but hardly spectacular, while the pasta was wildly, wildly overcooked. It was just so soggy. I couldn't believe they felt comfortable serving pasta that badly cooked to a paying customer. So yeah, I guess our experience as Massimo's was an outlier. Either that or the management at Capra's is just completely inept. I doubt we'll ever return. read more

We went to Capra's Kitchen for Mother's Day brunch - three generations of family from a 15-year old niece to an 82-year old gram. Capra's Kitchen did not disappoint. The food is delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is cheerful and bustling if a bit noisy. Gram had trouble hearing at the table. The bar produces some tasty cocktails. Gram and I started off the meal with mimosas. Highlights of the meal were the complimentary amuse bouche (see attached pictures); the Mother's Day special main, lobster's benny (with a generous layer of lobster); the shrimp linguine (their in-house made pasta is amazing); the ricotta pancakes (so pillowy soft); and the reason why I keep coming back, the affogato with a shot of Bailey's (such a simple dessert but so to-die-for). We all had a wonderful time and I know we will be back again to celebrate more family events. read more

Capra's is our regular 'go-to' place for weekend brunch. We've been coming here since it opened (and even before it officially became Capra's Kitchen). The food has been excellent and of consistent quality. Over the years we've tried a variety of menu items. Favourites include Hipster Toast, Eggs Massimo, and Porchetta Benny. Prices are reasonable and service is usually attentive, but of course we have our favourite service staff. Due to COVID and impact on the restaurant industry some of the service staff are newer. We do miss the original 'upscale' dinner menu when Capra's first opened, as menu items have become more 'family oriented.' Tagliatelle Bolognese has been standing favourite. There have been some recent menu additions, so will have to try them soon. Oh, and did I mention that Mississauga's own celebrity chef Massimo Capra is frequently seen behind the scenes? He and his wife Rosa have always been friendly and down to earth. Not surprising, the 3 Chefs: The Kitchen Men (Massimo, Michael Bonacini, and Jason Parsons) is also one of my favourite cookbooks. I've been here a couple times now. My first visit last summer was fairly positive, though it didn't really stand out. I returned a couple weeks ago and the experience was improved. I really enjoy the decor and it's very unique. They have a very large patio which is great for fairweather months. The menu is very much Italian with pasta and pizza making up the bulk of the menu. The accents and food quality are what helps it stand out. It's also slightly priced on the higher side, but nothing exceptionally different from comparable Italian places. All the pasta is made fresh and I really liked the texture of mine. My mother ordered their pizza and it was delicious. The tiramisu was one of the best tasting I've had. There's not much sense breaking down the menu as it's mostly quite familiar. Again, it's the quality and freshness which stands out. They allow the quality of the ingredients to speak rather than going overboard in salt, sugar, etc... And yes, I did see Chef Massimo Capra here (from the Food Network). Our adult children hosted a 40th anniversary party for us last Friday in the private dining room. Our 50 guests including 9 preschool age thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The room was perfect and very private from the rest of the restaurant. The staff, according to our daughter were very helpful getting things set up, prior to the dinner. The menu was amazing and all night long and for days to come, we received compliments on how delicious everything was. Our guests had a choice of roast chicken, braised beef ribs, or scallops and everyone agreed all three were absolutely delicious. The appetizers and desserts were equally as good. I did park illegally (as the other reviews advised not to do) and didn't even realize until I left as the plaza next to it is not for the restaurant. Parking is behind the place itself, not facing Lakeshore Rd W. We ordered burrata and panzanella for the table to start, and everyone either ordered pasta or pizza. As a lactose intolerant person () it's pretty hard for me at Italian restaurants but the waitress was so accommodating and let me know I could choose anything and they could adjust it. I opted for a vegan mushroom risotto which was delicious. My coworkers got pizzas and tagliatelle, some of the dishes had more meat than others but it wasn't a huge issue! 5 stars across the board for Capra's kitchen. When you walk in you are greeted by a lovely waiter/waitress who takes you to your seat. The waiter/waitresses don't rush you and always have a smile. There are a range of drink options from Alcoholic to non- Alcoholic. As well as many different appetizers and entrees. My personal favourite is the tagliatelle bolognese. I get it almost every single time me and my family go and it is always super delicious and very flavoursome. I have also tried many other dishes and they are also a ten out of ten. The lighting inside is very nice not too bright but not too dark. There is also outdoor seating in the summertime. This was my third visit. We arrived with no reservation so we were sat on the patio which was good until it cooled off. Luckily this coincided with us finishing our starters and a table coming up inside. Our waiter, Jason was attentive and knowledgeable.
