Absolutely enjoyed the experience here tonight Our server Alex was amazing! I loved the ambiance; the space is beautiful, especially the bar area! Some highlights: The short ribs were fall-off-the-bone good. I loved the burrata with the roasted grapes, prosciutto, and arugula The beet salad was also refreshing! My favourite go-to wine is the pinot noir from Rosehall Run :) #mustorder
Had one of the best meals I've had in a long time. After going for a walk on Marine Parade Drive, popped in for a light meal. This is a beautiful restaurant with whitewashed brick and old black and white Italian movies projected on a wall with modern furniture. Very nice. Our server Alex the Greek ( as opposed to the other staff members named Alex ) was amazing ... made us laugh ... suggested some dishes which were home runs and was always attentive. I must say, every dish I tried was elevated in a surprisingly good way. For starters had the focaccia and arancini. The focaccia was fresh and crunchy and it came with an olive and sundried tomato tapenade which was really delicious. The arancini was not your typical rice ball stuffed with mozzarella and served with marinara sauce. The peas and smoked mozzarella was a nice combination that made the dish very tasty. At Alex's suggestion, we got a bottle of Pinot Nero which was quite nice. The home-run of the night was the funghi pizza. I am not much of a mushroom fan but tried it on Alex's suggestion. It was phenomenal. It was probably the thinnest crust pizza I have ever had. It was a perfectly baked white pizza topped with a mushroom puree, parmigiana, hazelnuts, truffle crema and chopped portobello. This was one of best things I've eaten this year. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu. This was the lightest tiramisu I have had and it was very tasty. Will definitely be back.
Ambiance : just like Italy's brick walls when you enter their restaurants. They greeted us right away! Service: table service was great and full of jokes. Our friend was allergic to mushrooms and the server just made jokes to make him feel a little better. :) Food: the pastas were great and very cheesy. My only wish is that they would make the pasta al dente. Most of them were a little soggy. Almost like it wasn't quite fresh pasta. Burrata was awesome tho! Would have it again!
We made a reservation for a Saturday brunch on their heated patio and we got lucky that it was a windy day and we could find a parking spot on Lakeshore, close to the restaurant, otherwise we would've needed to park far from the restaurant. The heated patio is a plus; you can enjoy your food and company outside, but in a warm climate. We ordered steak and scrambled egg, avocado + smoked salmon and egg Benedict. The food was healthy and delicious. The service was quick and we even stayed longer to socialize after we paid for our meal and it was okay since they still had tables available.
Came for a sponsored dinner. Focaccia was only ok. I felt like the Caesar salad didn't have enough dressing, but the crusty bacon or crispy prosciutto on top was thin and melts in your mouth and I haven't had anything like that. The ravioli was delicious in a a-la vodka sauce. Tirimisu and sorbet were both delicious as well. Service was great. It's dark and quite busy inside. We had our own room so it was more quiet.
We enjoyed our evening here recently, the service was exceptional. As for the food, I do have to admit the food wasnt anything special but we would return for the ambiance and service. The gnocchi was a simple tomato sauce, the sauce was classic and a vegetarian option. The grilled calamari has a nice touch however portion size was small. Arancini needed a touch more seasoning and the caprese salad was normal. I had the sea bass and really enjoyed it! The side potatoes and rapini were a classic pairing.
I came here for my engagement dinner and this place made my night! They gave us a more private dining area on the side with curtains and service was great the whole time. They were so patient with us as we were too excited from the engagement and were taking time to take pictures of ourselves. Once we finally sat down we took time to order and the waiter was really nice. He kept checking in on us and helping. I ordered the Tagliatelle ai funghi with chicken added as well and it tasted amazing! Better than pasta from Italy hahah. Definitely recommend this place for a nice fancy dinner. The restaurant is very pretty. The only negative would be the smell in the washroom but it was the end of the night so I get why it probably smelled by then.
Great pizzas with an authentic Italian vibe. The ambiance is amazing. I enjoy going there for different occasions--business meetings, dates, or a night out with friends. A solid choice!
Came here based on a recommendation and my friend being a regular. We were all craving Italian and it was the perfect fix that we needed. We got an appetizer to share and they accommodated 3 pieces instead of 2. The dessert was delicious and the portion of the pasta was just enough. The only thing that bothered me was I was waiting for my friends to park and I came in time to not miss my reservations. I was told I had to wait for the full party to show up. When we were finally seated, it took us forever to get served and then right at the 1.5hour mark we were asked to leave and things felt super rushed.
Fantastic ambience, no doubt the place is always booked. So do try to book your table in advance to avoid waiting. It's absolutely with the effort. I will start with the dessert as that's to on my list. Hands down the best tiramisu I have ever had. I loved the pasta for the freshness of the sauce and the herbs with nice olive oil flavor. Truely Italian. Pizza was nice but pasta stole the show. Good bar and wine collections
Thinking of going to La Vecchia -- pass - Go Else where! We ordered Buffala prosciutto pizza and somehow got parmigiano covering the whole pizza. Then we asked about the mozzarella di buffala and foe it was lacking apparently the waitress response "that's how the chief does it". Very disappointing from the manager, no customer service. The waitress did offer us something else.
The pasta was extremely flavourful and at an affordable price I would 100% recommend this restaurant and I definitely will be coming back!
Had a delicious meal here with my friend and her family! As soon as we walked in I smelled garlic and Italian flavors. Great start to the evening! We had reservations and we were seated promptly. We shared the bruschetta. The tomatoes were very fresh and the focaccia bread was wonderful! For my entree I had capellini sardi, but I substituted penne for the capellini. The flavors in this pasta dish were wonderful! Everyone else enjoyed their dishes as well. Service was great. Drinks refilled as needed and we were checked on. read more

Nice ambiance but lacking in flavour Atmosphere: The restaurant has both an indoor space and a covered patio space, which is especially nice over the summer when the weather is warm. Went on a weekday for a work social and people were dressed casual to smart casual. Food: The food was a little disappointing, and was more of a modern interpretation of classic Italian food. The bruschetta had a bit too much tomato, and it was diced very finely and was on the watery side rather than the sweet or acidic side. The grilled calamari was interesting with the char, but the red bell pepper on the side tasted on the acidic/sour side, and could use more sweetness. The linguini was cooked well but didn't have the al dente texture of freshly made pasta and again, the tomato sauce tasted too watery and lacked the sweetness and tartness and there was no white wine taste. Service: The server was friendly and generally out of the way, but had trouble understanding us at times. There were a couple of us who were vegetarian and he had trouble hearing, and suggested pizzas with meat on them to the vegetarians, and so we had to repeat ourselves several times for him to understand. The food also came out quite slowly, especially the mains, and felt like we were sitting for a long time. They did clean the table off between courses, which was appreciated. Okay option if you're in the area, but had better food elsewhere. read more
My wife and I came here on a Friday evening, we did not have a reservation but we were seated right away, it was busy, for larger groups I assume you would have to wait. The manager came as well to ensure we were doing fine. The ambiance is very hip, there is a projector playing old movies, the walls are covered in pictures and tasteful graffiti. The food itself was a bit of a disappointment. The arancini we got as a started was tasty but pretty small. (4 stars) The margarita pizza (3 Stars) was just ok. We would not get it again. The desert was the best thing we tried, the Bannan toffee with icecream was a great (5 stars) combination. The drinks are 15$ for wine. For beer they have some in tap but serve 400ml. If we go back we would go just for desert. For two of us, with 1 glass of wine the bill was 85$. read more

The ambiance was pretty, especially the heated patio area. The food was good. The cocktails were tasty. The service was insanely slow considering it wasn't that busy on a Sunday evening dinner time. We didn't mind too much how slow the service was since we were having a nice conversation but when it came to checking out the bill and credit machine was super quick and we suddenly felt rushed. My only advice is that if you are under a time constraint, best to let your server know. Overall a very nice restaurant in a great location with lake views. read more

A decent restaurant in Etobicoke if you're in the area. My family and I recently went to celebrate my birthday (I won't say which one ! Starting to sound old!). I didn't realize until we were there but it's the same owners as La Vecchia on Yonge St which I have been to many times in the past, but I haven't been in the last few years. The food at this location was pretty good taste wise. We had the Tagliere di Salumi (Extra Cheese for $8) and the Valentino Salad to start. Both were nice quality and tasty. Although we were a little disappointed by the amount of bread and cheese on the Tagliere (which is why we ordered the extra cheese, probably should have opted for some extra bread as well). I had the Scalopine al Limone which was delicious. Although I was very disappointed by the fact that when I requested pasta instead of the potatoes and vegetables, I was informed that it "Is a common request, which is why we don't do it" and was asked to order a side pasta instead (for $10!). It's worth noting that 1) pasta is cheaper than veggies and potatoes so isn't a cost issue, 2) is is a common request, as they said, and many other restaurants in the GTA would accommodate that easily, and 3) they do have the pasta as a side dish so it is readily available. Anyway, back to the food...my family had the Agnolotti al Zucca, the Branzino alla Livornese, and the Agnello al Forno which were all quite tasty as well. The only side note was that the Angello (lamb) was a little bit small for the price compared to other restaurants. The service was friendly. They gave us a table with a nicer view when we asked and they were nice enough to give us a new bottle when the cork broke as they opened it (although it would've been fine with the original). The ambience of the restaurant was quite nice as well. Built recently so all the furnishings were pretty new and located right on the water in Etobicoke you have a good view if you sit on their heated patio. Overall, the restaurant is a decent choice if you're in the area and looking for something on the waterfront. However, there's some room for improvement on the value side and service when it comes to food options. Practical tips: -When using a GPS to get to the restaurant be careful that it doesn't send you down a closed road. There is a lot of construction going on nearby at the moment so some roads are closed. To get there we took Lakeshore Blvd to Marine Parade Drive which goes around the area. There is a faster route straight through but it's closed right now. -There is some parking on the street, but it may be full during peak hours or the summer. There is also public parking in a building down the street. read more

I was looking for a place on lakeshore to enjoy the lake after eating and the fresh breeze. I came across this on Google map. The waitress was good, and you are definitely paying for the service as two managers came by to make sure everything was going well. The waitresses work as a team and help each other out which is a bonus when yours isn't around and you need something. Atmosphere - stunning decoration on the inside. Outside was a bit warm under the patio seating area, even though it was not too sunny. But a bit like a green house effect. Washrooms are unisex and individual (For those who care). Parking - if you're lucky you can find a spot right across the street from the restaurant. Food - I had the Escarola salad. It was basically a large beet sliced, and about 3 lettuce leafs. I was really hungry so I devoured it in no time. Wish I could remember how it tasted. I suppose it was ok but clearly not memorable. For my main meal, I ordered the Linguine ai frutti Di Mare. This took awhile to arrive but when it did it was delicious. Although there were big chunks of tomatoes in there. My guest thought they were canned tomatoes but I'm hoping it wasn't. The linguine had a good amount of seafood medley in it, and was just the right size. At least for me. The basil leaves gave it a nice touch and added flavour. For dessert it was the vanilla ice cream which came with walnuts. A perfect addition to the ice cream. From now on, I will always add walnuts to mine! The only draw back was a dog that was at the patio who kept on barking. Very annoying but who knew the dog was not going to behave. I would definitely return but I would not get the beet salad again. It was $19 for the plate. Not worth it in my eyes. I only noticed this because one of the managers thought we didn't like the portion. It was another table complaining about it and it did make us think twice but I guess if someone else was thinking It then they should change it up. If you want to go on a romantic date this is the place. Eat and then go for a stroll across the street with the Toronto skyline in the background. Bring a light sweater if you do. Oh, my waitress name is Sarah. She's wonderful. You can tell she was working hard. :) read more

My family and I were walking along the Lakeshore and found La Vecchia to have the nicest outdoor patio in the area. The fresh flower garden in front really added to the ambiance of the place, even though it was raining when we went. We ordered a few pasta and pizza dishes, and all were delicious! My favorite dish was the simple Marguerita pizza, as it was baked to thin-crust perfection! Light and crispy, with a light tomato sauce and fresh cheese. Service was quick and very friendly. read more

What a delightful find!! Food was delicious, service divine, decor chic and comfortable. All this within a short, hop, skip and Jump to the waterfront and walking trails. I love a great view when dining out - so this was a bonus for me. Such a nice surprise. By the way- Bring your pickiest Italian critiques- I think they'll be impressed. I ordered the fresh pasta with Salmon along with the pear salad with walnuts and the panna cotta. No complaints here. Every delectable bite was perfect. If meeting up with a large group just be sure to warn them that there is no restaurant parking. It is all street parking ( I guess that's the norm in Toronto). The formal parking lot is about 1/2 km walk away. My friend received a $100 parking fine despite paying for parking. So diners beware. If you go, Let me know what you think of it. -AD read more

WOW! Amazing place beautiful and unique with Sofia Loren films playing up on a back brick wall and Italian music gently playing in the background. Food was outrageous absolutely perfect! Staff was knowledgeable and professional! The bartender was on point with the cocktails and made sure we were all happy with our drinks. And finally the desert tray was a mix of the perfect combo. A restaurant I would like to go for many times. Nice service and tasty food. I've been there for two times, both the daytime and after dark have good conditions for date. I like the lamb shank they provide in the summer menu (I will give the stewed lamb they currently provide a 6/10). I like the pasta and the salad they have. In all, very nice experience in this restaurant read more

Incredible atmosphere - the restaurant has a large indoor and outdoor seating area that gets packed as the sun sets. Perfectly located on the lakeshore, a great space to watch people passing by. The prices are fair, meals cost between 15-20$ for an average portion size. I ordered the 4 cheese gnocchi and it was fantastic, except there were only about 15 pieces so a little small for a dinner meal. It also came dressed with cabbage which was a very odd combination - had to take the toppings right off. I've also tried the funghi pizza which was fairly bland - could have used a pinch of salt or spice. The capriccioza pizza which was very good. All of the pizzas are a great size for one (thin crust) or can be split amongst two for a light meal! read more

Awesome patio, wonderful customer service and good food - sums up this beautiful restaurant! To start with the drinks - Tropicana mocktail was very good, usually with mango but since it was not available the substitute was peach and equally good. The complementary bread is equally good. The contadina in pizza - with sauce , cheese, chicken and spinach was super delicious and the portion was great. The smoked salmon panini comes with salad and goat cheese I suppose this was another level of tasty. Overall wonderful patio experience. I did notice after each guests leave the entire place is sanitized. read more

La Vecchia is the newest Italian restaurant to open at Humber Bay Shores in Etobicoke. Located on the ground floor of Cove at Waterways, La Vecchia is the second location of the original restaurant with over 20 years of history at Yonge and Eglinton. The restaurant offers seating in the main dining room, which has floor-to-ceiling windows letting natural light in, as well as at the long bar running along the back of the dining room, and outdoor patio seating for nice warm days. They've done a nice job with the decor; the ambiance is a step above compared to other restaurants in the area. Melanzane Alla Parmigiana (oven baked eggplant in tomato sauce topped with Parmigiano and fior di latte, topped with basil infusion) was a nice start for the meal. The tomato sauce was tasty and garlicky; the fior di late was nicely melted over the eggplant; the fresh basil leaf on the top was a lovely touch. They did not have lobster for the Pappardelle All'Aragosta, so I opted for the Linguini Ai Frutti di Mare instead (shrimp, PEI mussels, clams and calamari in a white wine tomato sauce); shrimp was fresh, and there was a good amount of seafood in the dish. Panna Cotta (Italian style egg-free creme caramel infused with Grand Marnier liqueur) was the selection to finish the meal. The serving size was on the small side and I was unable to taste any infused Grand Marnier; however, a Grand Marnier sauce was drizzled over the panna cotta, but it was too little. On the positive side, the panna cotta had a nice silky texture and the Grand Marnier sauce was great with the panna cotta. Service was warm, friendly and attentive. Vegan options are available; server will inform you which dishes can be made vegan. Parking is available on the street. TTC access available using line 66B. Finally, the beautiful looking restaurant that I always walk by is open!! Seated in less than 5 minutes by the patio, under staffed it seems, we are served by the amazing Christina. An amazing server with a great personality and a comic at heart! We start with the bruschetta and a Pinot noir for myself. I haven't had good bruschetta since my moms friend in high school made me some. Brings back such good memories! (And taste buds) Then came the Margherita pizza and Penne A La Vodka for the girlfriend. First, I did not expect a restaurant to have pizza THIS good. It's so good I came back a week after to get one for myself! My girlfriend got a pasta dish which she also said was amazing. I will definitely be coming back to LV for their pizza and will try out more dishes! Be warned; La Vecchia will blow EVERY restaurant on this street out the water! read more
