Came Saturday around noon, was about an hour wait but well worth it!!! Was easy to find seating after ordering; and shout out the friendly 16 year old who works at the front door and helps with line management. Really nice neighbourhood and one of the best pizza spots in the city. Recommend the Burata with hot honey, and vodka pizza

There's no Toronto pizzeria more iconic than Badiali's, known for the long lines and salivating pizzas. You know this spot is good when I come back for a 2nd, 3rd or maybe my 4th slice, and the vodka pie features the same beautiful, crispy pizza crust, topped with a fresh, savory and tangy vodka rose sauce with a touch of creaminess, especially when dotted with islands of cheesy fior di latte.

Badiali is truly that girl. We finally got to try the pizza that was so good it inspired a Miss Vickie's chip flavor, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We came around noon and the place was already packed out the door. Since it was our first visit, we went for a mix of slices: Pepperoni: A classic done right. The perfect amount of pepperoni with a crispy yet fluffy crust. Vodka: Creamy and velvety without making the slice soggy. The depth of flavor was surprisingly rich. Burrata Marinara: Light, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The burrata, basil, and marinara make the perfect trio. This was our favorite of the four. Capicola & Pineapple: I loved that the pineapple was sliced thin instead of chunky. The capicola wasn't heavy or overly salty, and the sweet and savory balance worked really well. People were leaving with stacks of pizza boxes, which says a lot. We even debated grabbing a whole pie for later but decided to show a little self restraint. After finally trying it for ourselves, the hype makes complete sense. This is easily some of the best pizza I've had in the city.

Waited 1 hour on a Saturday evening beginning at 8:30 pm. Limited outdoor seating. Good crispy thin pizza. Around $6 CAD per slice. They had to turn people away because they have a hard stop at 10 pm. Would come earlier if I were to come back. The also stopped serving whole pies past a certain time and ran out of some of the menu.

Could there be a more simple, yet perfect slice than the burrata marinara? For me, no. The bright acidity and subtle sweetness of the marinara sauce coats the crisp, light dough, accented by the milky creaminess of the burrata and fragrant highlight of fresh basil. The variety of flavours mingle to give you a good bite through and through. If you're in the neighbourhood and there is a lineup of less than 10 people (trust me, it goes by fast), come on in!! Service is efficient and my order has always been correct. There is very limited space to stand and eat by the windows (...and you get a view of the lineup, the lineup also gets a good view of you, hahah), and there are also a few tables and chairs outside. When the weather is nice, you could walk to the park nearby and have food there. I know you can order ahead, skip the line, by getting a whole pie, but I want variety! Perfect to come with a friend, order 2 slices each, request when they heat up and slice down the middle, allowing you to try 4 types of slices. I also like the mushroom bianco, cacio e pepe, and salami and hot pepper. But whatever you get, get the burrata marinara too and start your meal with that. mmmm... I will be back again and again.

Was craving a good pizza place while visiting Toronto and we ended up with this final choice. Literally the best quality pizza i've had and huge in serving too! We ended up with capicolla & pineapple, vodka, margherita, and burrata marinara. My personal favorite was the capicolla & pineapple as there were even purple onions on it which made it taste in the perfect savory and sweet! Highly recommend trying the ranch and hot honey to pair with your pizzas! There are only bar areas for people to stand and eat. We were so hungry and we got lucky to snag a vacant area to eat our meals right away.

So it's a cold Winter day. So why not go to a place known for its line-up of people waiting for a slice of pizza? I walked over from Ossington, and you can smell the delicious aroma as you get near. It gave me hope of eating some good pizza. The place is tiny, 8 people maximum inside for the slice line. Fortunately I didn't have to wait too long, and was soon ordering a pepperoni and a Margherita slice. Service was pleasant and efficient. The place was packed. There is no seating inside, and the outdoor patio furniture is stacked up for the winter, so if you want to sit while you're eating, bring a car, or decide to live nearby. The crust was the same for both, excellent thin crust with nice chewiness, good browning on the bottom, and a crispy but not roof of the mouth destroying crust. The sauce was also great. Clearly made with love, a little sweet, a lot savoury. The cheese was good quality and had just enough pull to make it fun and not annoying. The pepperoni slice was solid. Nothing amazing, but the slices were quality and had a nice little kick to them. I hesitate to call them cup and char, since some were submerged. The Margherita slice was amazing. The way the fresh uncooked basil hit with the combo of the sauce and cheese to give a floral-tomato kiss inside my mouth...this is my new favourite Margherita slice in town! Crowded, yes, but the hype is real here, and I completely understand the line-ups. If you don't mind standing and eating, or have some way to get a seat somewhere in the neighborhood, then this place gets a high recommendation from me. (Or wait until they put out the patio furniture again when the weather warms up.)

Visited on a Sunday at around 2 and the long line took us about 45 minutes to get our pizza. I saw there was a separate line to order ahead of time and would do that next time. Known for their Vodka one, but I liked the pepperoni more. Mushroom bianco was also good but the carmelizd onions were too sweet. Not a floppy pizza, super thin, super crisp, super nice. Reminds me of pizza in New York.

I've heard so much about Badiali being the best pizza in the city that Miss Vickie's even made a chip out of it, so I definitely had to check it out and it's been a long time coming. As expected, the line was long even at 3 PM with everyone wanting to get their pizza fix. The line moved fairly well but it still took time with the amount of people. Once I got in, it made sense with the size of the place and how much people can actually fit inside. The staff was super friendly and turnaround was quick once you manage to order. Opted for the Vodka and the Burrata Marinara. The vodka was such a revelation, so simple but yet so flavourful. The sauce was amazing and I definitely see why it's so hyped. The burrata was still good, but after tasting the Vodka it didn't quite live up to that standard as much. Definitely well worth the hype and the wait, but for next time will definitely pre-order and get the whole pie to avoid the wait times.

I thought I had the best slice of pizza in NYC. Until I randomly stumbled upon Pizzeria Badiali last night. The cheese slice with vodka sauce was absolute perfection. It wasn't until that first bite that I truly understood why people are willing to wait in line for a slice of pizza in freezing cold weather. Trust me, it's worth it. And for what it's worth, the line moves pretty fast.

Hands down the best authentic pizza I've ever had. This popular pizza spot definitely lives up to the hype. There was a line when we arrived, and we waited about 30 minutes, but it was worth it - the line does move quick. The place is small inside with no indoor seating, but they do have a few patio seats, making it a great option for takeout. The staff were friendly, and the menu is short and simple. We ordered the Spicy Vodka, Burrata, Mushroom Bianco, and Cacio e Pepe pizzas. The Spicy Vodka was the standout for me--so flavorful, perfectly balanced, and easily the favorite. The Burrata pizza was a close second; I love burrata, and this one was incredibly creamy and rich without being too heavy. The Mushroom Bianco had great flavour and was cheesy, while the Cacio e Pepe was good but a bit on the salty side for me and slightly heavy. But would definitely recommend getting the Spicy Vodka for sure if stuck between which pizza to get.

After hearing all the hype I tried Badiali's and I was not disappointed! The restaurant is really small and there was a huge line when I went on a Monday at noon, so I highly recommend ordering online and picking up. The pizza itself was so incredibly good! The pizza crust was to die for, as it was really flakey with a good chew. It was almost like a good croissant. I had a couple different flavors and they were all really good but I was most impressed with the mushroom pizza. I typically don't get mushrooms on my pizza but these mushrooms were so juicy and went so well with the caramelized onions! Delicious!

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

They have a great stock of wines and an impressive drink list that we don't get to enjoy as we can't handle drinks these days. We do enjoy the food and the friendly service immensely tho. Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
