    Pepperoni Pizza Slice

This is one of my favourite finds of this year! I got the chance to try the Pepperoni and Mediterranean Pizzas, the latter of which was my favourite since the ingredients came together so well. Just one con from my experience, despite ordering in advance for pickup I was told to wait for another 15 minutes. It wasn't terribly busy so this irked me a tad.

Three hungry adults ordered delivery through Skip The Dishes the other night. We ordered a large Motor City pizza and to our surprise (via Skip) came with a free small pepperoni pizza. We also got 2 pounds of wings the Cajun spicy and BBQ. The pizza was delicious- well made, well seasoned, well dressed and with fresh ingredients. Both pizzas were excellent but the Motor City was worth the hype. We were told the pizza is very filling and can put you in couch mode if you eat too much. I had 4 pieces overall 3 of Motor City and 1 pepperoni and was very full but not quite the couch-mode. The wings were crispy and flavorful. We loved both kinds but the spicy dry rub was unique and spicy. Delivery didn't help us on learning about the restaurant's ambiance, but the packaging was well done and sustainable. We all agreed we would definitely try this pizza and wing combo again - amazing!!

I'm always a bit wary ordering Detroit or Chicago style pizzas for delivery. There's a whole lotta dough in them that could get soggy or cardboard-y real fast. I'm happy to report that Detroit Pizzeria holds up on delivery. I got a small Motor City pizza and the crust was properly airy/chewy/crispy. While I would have liked it to be just a bit more buttery, it was pretty good. Toppings of pepperoni, mushrooms and ranch dressing were generous, though I would have wanted it to have a bit more bacon and a lot more cheese. Just a personal preference though because overall, Detroit Pizzeria does justice to the Detroit style pizza.

Detroit style pizza is surprisingly good! This was my first time trying Detroit style pizza and it was pretty different, but in a good way. The crust had a nice texture to it, and the sauce was great although I wish there was a bit more of it. Overall I'd say this was definitely worth a try.

The place is pretty small but was willing to accommodate for a group of 10 and that was awesome. Service was on point and price was reasonable. As for pizza, we got 3. In general, it's not the best Detroit style pizza, but it's solid good pizza. The wild mushroom --- easily the group favorite. Flavor was just perfect and truffle was not overpowering kFC --- eh, didn't have the KFC flavor and chicken was just ok. It come with side of kimchi but it wasn't really needed Motorcity --- the most typical pizza and pretty solid. Nothing really stood out .

My review is based on the large Korean fried chicken pizza. Pros: - great flavour! Really yummy - cheese crust was very crunchy - although the bread is THICK, it was not dry or "too bready" - came with a perfect amount of kimchi side. Kimchi wasn't too sour and was good - price was good @ $30. My friend and I were VERY hungry. We stuffed ourselves by eating 6/8 slices for dinner - last 2 slices reheated well. I added more kimchi and sirracha at home Cons: - chicken was mostly batter. I think some "chicken" chunks were entirely batter since they were so small. This was the major con and hence 4 stars. - was not informed they had "plenty of dipping sauces." I found out from a friend when I got home - didn't provide fork for the kimchi or napkins - I also felt like other photos of this pizza had more green onion which would have been nice

    Margherita Pizza ($18.19)

Pros: + Nice texture and weight for a Detroit pie + Food was hot and fresh + Location is clean, simple, and staff were nice Cons: - Price is high - Skimped out on cheese and sauce Felt like a nice Detroit-style pie and decided to finally check this place out. Got the Margherita Pizza ($18.19). The pie wasn't too light or too heavy, but was served up nice and hot. A lot of Detroit pies are skimpy on the sauce, and unfortunately this was one of them. Usually, they're cheesy, but this one also skimped out on the cheese. I did enjoy the texture - it's crunchy on the sides and bottom, but airy and soft in the middle. Really nice. For $18.19 before tax and tip, the value proposition is way out of sync in my opinion. I'd rather get a Pizziolo Large Pepperoni pie for the same price. There are other Detroit-style places like 8 Mile and Descendant with better pizza in my opinion. The place has a nice simple interior with seating for maybe 15 people. It's clean and has music playing so it's not awkward. Very modern design as well. The staff were friendly as well. Overall feeling like this is a 3/5. If the prices were lower or the pizza were better, it'd be a 4 or even 5.

Where has this pizza been all my life? This Detroit style pizza from detroit pizzeria has the most buttery and fluffy crust with toppings right to the edges. If you are defintely looking for a great pizza spot to hit up you won't regret trying detroit pizzeria The Detroit style pizza is typical made in a square/ rectangular shape and has a thicker and deeper crust and baked in a steel pan. It has a thick and airy crust and toppings are edge to edge. I got the Taj Mahal which is has the butter chicken, red peppers, red onions, mozzarella and butter chicken aioli sauce. First impressions was that it was really beautiful and well made pizza. The crust wasn't hard which I appreciated as I normally never eat the crusts on any pizza and the aioli added a nice touch of creaminess to the pizza which I really enjoyed.

I love this pizza spot! I'm a long time fan of Detroit style pizza because of its cheesy, crispy crust and golden brown dough. This place does it right! I tried the motor city & the kfc pizza (pizza of the week) and loved both. One small is more than enough for one person. If you're two people I'd recommend getting two small pies so you can try different toppings! It's priced at around $19-23 per small pie depending on the type you get. There's a small side street nearby that you can park on while you pick up your takeout. I loved supporting local and i will definitely be returning!

A great pizza joint located at Bathurst & DuPont. If you love thick crust, Detroit style.... This is the place to be! Filled with toppings and made to perfection. I also got wings and we almost went back and ordered another LB.... It was that good! If you are looking for more food recos - feel free to check out my food page on instagram (@filledupwithfood)

    This is the website pizza

They are wildly inconsistent. You order the same pizza twice in one week you'll get different toppings each time. They have descriptions on their Uber eats platform and photos of the toppings, the pizza rarely looks this way. it's very frustrating when you pay $20+ for a small pizza and it's not made correctly. I ordered a spring pesto pizza, last week it was perfect. This week it's covered in red sauce and looks completely different. very disappointing.

Finally a pizza arrived without the delivery people screwing it up! My small Mediterranean pizza arrived hot and was super cripsy...actually probably the crispiest crust i have tried! The Mediterranean was one of their "pizza of the week" offerings so may not be available by the time you read this. Now for my thoughts...as others have mentioned, the pizza is on the smaller side. Apart from that, it was quite good. The sauce/toppings were fresh and tasted good and as i mentioned, the crust was super crispy. So would i order from them again? Maybe. The simple fact is that i like spicy food and as such prefer 8Mile's spicy pie. The size of and toppings on that pizza are also more filling so I would prefer to spend my money there if i have to choose. That having been said, Detroit Pizzeria was good enough for me to recommend them if you are interested in Detroit style pizzas and you like their flavour combinations. Also, the fact that have weekly specials makes it more likely for me to give them another try (especially if they come up with something spicy!)

Went there on a mid week day in the afternoon with my family as I was in the mood for thick pizza. The place was empty and the host was surprised we were dining in. Appears more carry out business. Tables are basic but clean. One server may be the owner. He was busy doing a good photo shoot bye was able to accommodate us well. Pizza am out at a reasonable time. We loved the variety in cuisine. The wild mushroom had a creamy garlic sauce drizzle that was great. The Korean chicken had a nice heat spicy factor. The Mediterranean pizza had tasty halal chicken sausage and tangy tahini sauce. Food is 5 star quality as far as pizza crust cheese and toppings cohesiveness. 4 stars in terms of dining in experience, atmosphere and service. I woul return if I am in the mood for pizza for e

The Margherita. So fluffy. Lovely change from the usual.

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

Nice local Italian restaurant that is enjoyed by us locals as well as those who come down for shows…read moreat the St Lawrence ctr for the arts and the Meridian Hall as well as sports fan here for games. They have a great stock of wines and an impressive drink list that we don't get to enjoy as we can't handle drinks these days. We do enjoy the food and the friendly service immensely tho. Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
