a cheese pizza in a box

Pie review for the Corso Italia location ( 1248 St Clair Ave. W.): 3.5-star pizza, with 0.5 extra for phenomenal value. In essence: Fantastic pie at fantastic price at this new 2nd location from FBI Pizza (I've had one "fantastic" pizza and one "decent" pizza at their New Toronto location previously). Specifically at this location, they offer 20% their 21" pizza for walk-ins (was told this has been an ongoing offer with no end date), so the price was $27.00 (regularly $34 before tax, tip) for a plain 21" pie, arguably one of the best pizza deals in the city, especially since FBI Pizza is a reputable pizzeria. Walked in and ordered a plain 21" (just cheese and tomato sauce), and asked for "nearly well-done" and "thin" (which is their style anyway, I was told). I was surprised how great this was for a "plain" 21" pie for a price that is cheaper or the same as what most restaurants charge for an 18" pie (North Of Brooklyn charges min. $26 for their 18" and Superpoint charges $31 for an 18" whos only listed topping is "mozzarella"). The tomato sauce was not too discernable, but had a slight acidic yet lightly concentrated flavour that melded well with the mozzarella, but was not watery nor had an acrid raw tomato taste (their website claims they use San Marzano D.O.P. tomato sauce, which is nice but not a factor in appealing tomato sauce). The website also says they finish their pies off with E.V. olive oil (a nice touch). They definitely did not skimp on the mozzarella, as it clung well to the dough and was plentiful. There was a discernable "umami" flavour to the pie (quite strong, in a good way), which was appealing. The dough was noticeably and impressively thin. It was quite "white" in taste, tiny hint of sweetness, so did not have that "sourdough" hint that North Of Brooklyn amd other recent Canadian/local pizzerias have been using, and there lacked the "thin-yet-airy" appeal of the dough, but not tough to chew. The pizza was cooked very impressively and beautfully for a "well-done" (practically no black char anywhere, and impressive crisp along outside edge). I HIGHLY recommend consuming their "well-done" pie (or anyone else's) immediately, since these types have a bit less moisture than regular pies and stiffen up quicker under any sort of airflow and after a shorter period of time. There is ample seating space (booths) to accomodate immediate consumption inside, luckily. Overall, enjoyed this location's pie more than the 1st/main FBI Pizza location in New Toronto, and with 20% off for 21" pies (for walk-ins only), its a more appealing endeavor. Would say the main comparison with their pie is Conzo's Pizza, but FBI has a less "smokey" flavour overall and more "umami" flavour. Would say this is currently the best pizza on St. Clair W./Corso Italia. [NOTE: Yelp seems to refuse to add the newer St. Clair West location to the directory of restaurants on the site, so I added the review here.] FBI Pizza 1248 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6E 1B7 (416) 652-1111

Chicken pizza, regular crust, with onions, hot peppers, green peppers

This place has one of the best pizzas! Their Crust is perfectly done. Their topping to cheese ratio :) is sooo amazing. It's so flavourful. There is street parking right in front of the restaurant and it's usually free after 9 and on sundays.

    Cheese Pizza!

Ordered a plain cheese pizza delivery which came promptly. It looked amazing when I opened the box. A proper cheese pizza. The cheese was golden brown and bubbly. First thing the cheese stood out alot. It was a nice blend and had a strong cheese taste. The sauce was very tart and had a fresh tomato taste. The crust was thin but the right amount of flop and crisp. The only issue I found was the cheese was a lil clumpy and would pull off with a bite other then that FBI is a total recommend!

My recent delivery left much to be desired. Not only did my pizza arrive looking like it had gone through a tornado, but the employee's rude demeanor made the situation even worse. Despite my attempts to explain the issue, they dismissed my concerns without letting me speak and accused me of lying about the condition of my pizza. The lack of customer service and the subpar quality of the food makes me hesitant to ever order from FBI Pizza again. Although they delivered a new pizza, but waited another HOUR, they would not accommodated adding dipping sauce or reimburse as an apology. We were unable to consume the pizza (got for a family get together) as "they needed to show the manager" after we mentioned we would send in photos. We have eaten here plenty of times, and enjoyed always. This experience left us with a bad taste and will not be coming back. Mistakes happen, but disrespect is a choice. Even if you have been "working there for 15 years."

Chicken + Hot Peppers + Caramelized Onions

Review based on pizza ** FBI has been on the list for quite some time. Initially wanted to try out the Chicken Hoagie sandwich, based on gram pictures. Once we got to the place gave the pizza a shot, place is called FBI pizza might as well. Nice location, great for groups, looks like a good place to catch a game. Rich list of ingredients that you dont normally find at other locations. They had some pre made suggestions but mostly vegetarian and pork combinations. Was advised on the menu that the sizing is one step larger than normal. End of the day decided to go with a large chicken, with half hot peppers and caramelized onions / half portobello mushrooms and sundried tomatoes. To begin with the large size looked like any regular large pizza, not sure what the upsizing was about. The crust and sauce was, meh. The toppings and cheese is where the money's at. Was expecting typical hot peppers, but these things were actually spicy. The portobello mushrooms and sundried tomatoes was a good mix. Good amount of great toppings. That said, I just dont see it. For the commute ( if your going out of your way ), pizza, and more importantly the price its really hard to justify. My colleague and I agreed that Pizza Nova would have been an equal/better alternative at a much lower price. To be fair I want to try out their other options, especially that hoagie. In conclusion I would not recommend or go again solely for the pizza. 1.5/2

    Bombo Pazza!
    Shamae T.

The customer service was great! Once we walked in we were able to review the menu and I was a bit afraid that the Bomba Pizza would be a bit too spicy for me but they were very accommodating by making it medium spice! The pizza was so delicious, I love the honey drizzle on top. Super tasty! And the medium is so filling. I would definitely recommend this place and I will also be returning myself :)

Got the 10 slice thin crust XXL, added MOST WANTED topping of goat cheese & hot soppresSata and PREMIUM topping of Italian sausage. A very good pizza; it was a bit on the expensive side.

I came here with my best friend for a birthday dinner, and I could immediately see why this place has lasted for decades. It's tucked inside an old house on Elm Street, and the whole restaurant has that warm, family-run charm that makes you feel like people have been coming here for years and bringing more people back with them. The tables are definitely close together, so it's a little tight when the restaurant gets busy, but honestly that also adds to the lively energy because there was a steady flow of people coming in all night. Food-wise, there were a few dishes that really stood out. The carpaccio is such a good order, very thinly sliced raw beef, simple and classic, and honestly one of the most reasonably priced versions I've seen. My personal favorite was the prosciutto & melon. It's such a simple dish, but when it's done well, it really hits, and this one did. The real star for me though was the Cozze Marinara. The mussels were plump, tender, and clean, with no sandy bits, and the garlicky tomato sauce was so good that I ended up scooping it up with bread until the plate was basically spotless. We also tried the Vitello Marsala with mushrooms and Penne Arrabbiata, which felt very classic and comforting. If you like traditional Italian flavors, this is the kind of dish that will make you happy. That said, I personally wouldn't recommend mixing the meat and pasta together too much, I think they shine better on their own. Later we also ordered the garlic grilled seafood fettuccine because we were enjoying ourselves so much, and that one was much lighter in flavor. Nice enough, but probably not the best choice if you like richer or bolder pasta dishes. By the end we were completely full and had to leave a few strands of fettuccine behind, which almost never happens for me. Overall, Donatello feels like the kind of neighborhood Italian restaurant people return to for comfort, generous portions, and that warm family run atmosphere. It may not be the most spacious or modern place, but it has heart, and some dishes were genuinely memorable.

There is an upstairs balcony seating but I've never sat there. During warm weather, there is plenty of roadside outdoor seating too. This is my fourth time here but I never wrote a review fir the restaurant before. We ordered the following: 1. Shrimp Perno (daily special $6/shrimp). Jumbo Shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, tomatoes, scallions, and finished off with a shot of perno liquor. 2. Rack of Lamb (daily special $59.95). Four pieces of lamb in a rack, with a rich portion wine reduced sauce, that has a touch of mint to it, and Penne Pasta in a tomato rose sauce. The table bread was really good. The crust was crispy but the inside was fluffy. The soft butter that came it was so tasty. The bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce that came with the shrimp. We asked for a second basket of bread and they put two loafs in the second basket. It was too much so they were willing to let us take it home. The shrimps were definitely jumbo. It was so filling. Two pieces (per person) were good enough as an appetizer. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. We requested the lamb be cooked medium rare. It was definitely medium rare. It was juicy and did not have a gamey taste. It tastes great. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The tomato rose sauce was really good. They offered to grind parmesan cheese and pepper so we got both. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and paid parking lots. Review 2025-187

It's a dining experience you don't see every day in Toronto. Even the washrooms are memorable, tucked away in the basement in what used to be old jail cells, which adds to the charm and gives the whole place a bit of personality. We went for an early Sunday dinner before a concert at Massey Hall. The restaurant got pretty busy as the evening went on, but it never felt chaotic. The atmosphere is lovely and lively, a great choice for a special night out or a pre-show meal. We started with Calamari alla Griglia with mixed greens, capers, onions, and fresh tomatoes. It was a fresh, bright appetizer with good balance. For mains, my date had the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare with clams, mussels, calamari, scallop, and tiger shrimp in a tomato sauce. The menu described it as mildly spicy, but it definitely had a noticeable kick. Still, the flavours were really good. I ordered the Ravioli al Brasato with braised beef, butter, sage, and parmigiano. It was tasty and comforting, though portion-wise I could have used a few more ravioli. I was still a bit hungry after and honestly double the size would have been perfect for me. For dessert we shared the Tiramisu with espresso-soaked savoiardi, mascarpone, and cocoa. I had an amaro while my date finished with zambuca. A sweet and satisfying way to wrap up the meal. The service was friendly, though drinks came out a bit slower than expected. Terroni's food is tasty, the setting is gorgeous, and it's easy to see why locals keep coming back. It's not cheap, but the quality and ambience make it worth trying, especially for dinner before a show or a relaxed date night in one of Toronto's most unique spaces.

There was another two flights of stairs to get to the upper bar (which I was too tired to walk up to). The drinks at the bar were good and the staff were all great. We started with passed apps. Some of the flavour combinations were just off (the skewer with fruit, cheese and something else) - like they paired the wrong cheese with the fruit. The meal itself was a seat down meal (family style) which did take over two hours to complete for the amount of guests that were present (over 200 ppl). My favorite dish was the tomato and mozza salad. My most disappointed dish was the ragu pasta. Though containing a good amount of meat it was not saucy at all. The pizza was the brocolini was good as well. The reason I gave this restaurant three stars is strictly for the lack of elevator and the food quality vs the price. For what you are paying, there is so much higher quality food in the city and I honestly think you can get better bang for buck elsewhere.

The combination of the peach and mint went really well with the burrata. Light and easy to eat. The patio at night is one of the highlights.
