Came here on a random weeknight before a game to have dinner. I was shocked seeing the size of the restaurant one you walk in. I didn't expect it to be as big as it is and it had a cool atmosphere with different parts you could be seated at. Service was good, no complaints- quick and efficient. I wouldn't know how it is on a weekend though. Food was great. They had many pastas or pizzas to choose from. Enjoyed our choices. The pasta texture was good and pizza dough also had good taste! Really enjoyed the calamari as well. They were crisp and battered nicely. Had to order a tiramisu to end the meal to try. It was good but I've had better in the city.

(3.5/5) I had dinner at Torrini and ordered the pork chop with broccolini. The food was solid -- flavorful, nicely cooked, and definitely above average. The service was friendly, and the space has a nice, modern vibe. That said, with so many great restaurants in Toronto, I don't think this one quite stood out enough for me to make it a must-return spot. Good meal, good experience -- just not one that left a lasting impression.

Loved Terroni and all the delicious food I got to try! Had some delicious pasta that I still think about to this day. My favourite is the Ravioli Ricotta e Spinaci, was so delicious. A super cute place to go out with friends or perfect for a date night! 8/10 recommend!

Great vibe with lots of natural light peaking in from glass skylights. The staff is seasoned and atmosphere is loud and buzzing. Great menu options allows for sharing or dependable combinations of flavours.

For our dinner the first night, we met up with an old friend of mine and he suggested going to Terroni. Situated in what was formerly the courthouse and jail of Toronto at one point, this place offered a unique atmosphere. It was a very grand space, very over the top, with lots of large art and lighting to help fill the space. The basement which housed the jail cells were now wine cellars, which was a clever use of the space. The staff were friendly, seating us upon arrival when I told them we had a reservation. They were attentive, checking on us and r offering refills when needed. It was a dimly lit space so getting too many pictures was a bit difficult. The menu offered many tasty Italian options. Being a bit overwhelmed by the menu, I got the spinach and ricotta ravioli, which were good, but a bit lacking with no added protein, or meat option. I would have definitely enjoyed it more with a little more added to it, the cream sauce was rich and delicious, but with only 7 ravioli it just wasn't enough. Do bad choice on my part. Overall, it was good, a fun space, and somewhere I'd check out again, but I'd definitely get something different next time. If you're looking for fine Italian dining, give this spot a try

Lively, warm and elegant ambiance. Came to have a girls dinner with my wonderful cousin. We both had red wine, I had the one recommended for Cab Sav lovers. We shared the oyster mushroom salad, I had the truffle/Italian sausage spaghetti and then we both shared the tiramisu. Wine was lovely, food was delicious and dessert was divine. I wasn't the craziest about the mushroom oyster salad; they were fried but not super warm and then it was just arugula and there wasn't a ton of flavor. My entree absolutely made up for that; positively delicious. And I could have eaten a gallon of the tiramisu! Our server, Jordon, was fast, friendly and attentive. He had excellent recommendations and translated our wine preferences. We loved him!

This unique Italian restaurant has been here for many years and doesn't disappoint if you want good food with great atmosphere. The restaurant is huge with a main dining area and some large private rooms. Built in the old courthouse they have jail cell doors protecting the wine and washrooms, paying homage to the buildings historic past. Service was fantastic- our server was super friendly and helpful. He gave us recommendations on the food and even local things to do. Food wise - the zucchini stuffed flowers were amazing as a starter. Complimentary bread with olive oil and peppers were very good. My wife had the ravioli (good flavours but small portions) and I had the seafood spaghetti. Good portion size and amazing flavours. Also the food came out so quick- think we were in and out in under 40mins. This is a very good place for food and unique ambiance.

Ordered a Capricciosa pizza. Was a thin crust pizza, paper thin, which would have been fine if it wasn't as soggy as it was. Difficult to eat as everything was sliding off the slices as they were picked up and way too greasy. The pistachio ice cream bar was ok, the chocolate on the outside was a bit too sweet for me and the ice cream had no pistachio flavour.

I came here for the first time on Good Friday right before a comedy show at Meridian Hall. We made a reservation a few days before and I'm so glad we did, because it was so busy when we went. I noticed the seating here is a bit tight. We were seated in the area with the skylight and our table felt a little cramped as we were seated so close to other couples. Our server was very kind and attentive, but he was pretty hard to get a hold of at times. We were started off with some fresh bread & olive oil. I wish they would also given us some balsamic vinegar to mix the oil with and possibly warmed up the bread. For drinks, I tried both the Lilli & Terroni Sour. Both were good, but I liked the Lilli better. We decided to share the following: Li Pecuri Pizza Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe Dark Chocolate Lava Cake Overall, it was a pretty good experience. For us it was the best option on a holiday nearby to the venue we went to next. However, I don't think I would come back here.

A lovely spot for lovely fresh Italian food. I liked the food, but was very tight for space. Impressed with the quick service too.

This was a great find for creative Italian food at the edge of Old Toronto. The restaurant is in a historic building with lots of charm and character. The interior at parts is nearly three stories high. It has a lot of visual interest, and they've further embellished with Italian posters. photos and other colorful items. We made a reservation and were seated immediately in a back area. There appear to be an array of interesting rooms. Seating is packed tight, but the vibe is youthful and very energetic. The room seemed to be full of excited conversation. The menu has a good number of choices. We selected to share a Giuggiolosa salad that was excellent. It was fresh, flavorful, and the dressing simple and perfect to not overpower the ingredients. The grilled red peppers and exceptional gorganzola cheese were a highlight. The drizzle of honey was almost undetectable, which was fine as too much could ruin it. I went on to choose the Garganelli Geppetto. Wow, it was good! The pasta is an interesting rolled tube, small but such a great shape. There's spicy sausage, dandelion leaves, and a very light sauce. The dish was superb and just the right portion. The only misstep which I found awkward at best was I was served my dish, and just as I was about to take a bite, a wait person came swooping in and said I had the wrong dish, swept it away and replaced it with another... that frankly didn't look much different. The service, however, was excellent, and our prime waiter was terrific and very astute. We also had the complimentary bread, which was fresh, warm, and quite appealing. It was accompanied by high-quality olive oil for dipping. I now have a craving to go back and try more!

Loved the ambiance. The restaurant was a little bit packed on the day that I went for dinner and quite loud too to have conversations. The food was awesome, here's my rating for everything: Spaghetti - 9/10, the tomatoes were really flavorful & fresh Cacio e Pepe - 6/10 too mild, not enough flavor Pesto - 7/10 kinda mild too, 8.5/10 with chili oil added The flavors were definitely very authentic Italian and I tend to go towards the more spicy route

I knew from previous visits that the food and service were exceptional, but this week reinforced why this has become one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in the city. Max and Trevor behind the bar made the experience seamless from night one. Not only did they remember my name, they recalled my exact order and dietary needs every evening without hesitation. Traveling for work while maintaining a low sodium, heart healthy diet can be challenging, so finding consistency matters. I did not want to chance food remorse or uncertainty with ingredients, and they made sure my burrata and salmon were prepared perfectly each night. By night five, I was basically in a legally recognized relationship with burrata, salmon...and the guys. Sofia, who had provided exceptional service to us on a previous visit months ago, was there as well. I made a point to remind her how memorable and appreciated her hospitality had been, and it was great to see the same professionalism and warmth continue throughout the restaurant team. Five straight nights at the same restaurant says a lot on its own. Consistent food, genuinely attentive staff, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back. I came here with my best friend for a birthday dinner, and I could immediately see why this place has lasted for decades. It's tucked inside an old house on Elm Street, and the whole restaurant has that warm, family-run charm that makes you feel like people have been coming here for years and bringing more people back with them. The tables are definitely close together, so it's a little tight when the restaurant gets busy, but honestly that also adds to the lively energy because there was a steady flow of people coming in all night. Food-wise, there were a few dishes that really stood out. The carpaccio is such a good order, very thinly sliced raw beef, simple and classic, and honestly one of the most reasonably priced versions I've seen. My personal favorite was the prosciutto & melon. It's such a simple dish, but when it's done well, it really hits, and this one did. The real star for me though was the Cozze Marinara. The mussels were plump, tender, and clean, with no sandy bits, and the garlicky tomato sauce was so good that I ended up scooping it up with bread until the plate was basically spotless. We also tried the Vitello Marsala with mushrooms and Penne Arrabbiata, which felt very classic and comforting. If you like traditional Italian flavors, this is the kind of dish that will make you happy. That said, I personally wouldn't recommend mixing the meat and pasta together too much, I think they shine better on their own. Later we also ordered the garlic grilled seafood fettuccine because we were enjoying ourselves so much, and that one was much lighter in flavor. Nice enough, but probably not the best choice if you like richer or bolder pasta dishes. By the end we were completely full and had to leave a few strands of fettuccine behind, which almost never happens for me. Overall, Donatello feels like the kind of neighborhood Italian restaurant people return to for comfort, generous portions, and that warm family run atmosphere. It may not be the most spacious or modern place, but it has heart, and some dishes were genuinely memorable.

There is an upstairs balcony seating but I've never sat there. During warm weather, there is plenty of roadside outdoor seating too. This is my fourth time here but I never wrote a review fir the restaurant before. We ordered the following: 1. Shrimp Perno (daily special $6/shrimp). Jumbo Shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, tomatoes, scallions, and finished off with a shot of perno liquor. 2. Rack of Lamb (daily special $59.95). Four pieces of lamb in a rack, with a rich portion wine reduced sauce, that has a touch of mint to it, and Penne Pasta in a tomato rose sauce. The table bread was really good. The crust was crispy but the inside was fluffy. The soft butter that came it was so tasty. The bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce that came with the shrimp. We asked for a second basket of bread and they put two loafs in the second basket. It was too much so they were willing to let us take it home. The shrimps were definitely jumbo. It was so filling. Two pieces (per person) were good enough as an appetizer. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. We requested the lamb be cooked medium rare. It was definitely medium rare. It was juicy and did not have a gamey taste. It tastes great. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The tomato rose sauce was really good. They offered to grind parmesan cheese and pepper so we got both. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and paid parking lots. Review 2025-187

The artichokes were mediocre (loved the sauce they came with). Worst of all was the "Ontario peaches" with the burrata were totally canned peaches - could've even been dole brand!
