    Tiramisu

I saw mixed reviews but the $25 bottomless mimosas were too good of a deal to pass up. I also ordered the Che Fame eggs and the table shared a tiramisu. The mimosas were great and our server made sure our glasses were never empty. $25. The Che Fame eggs were absolutely delicious. Soft scrambled eggs with a naan-type bread, buratta and truffle oil. Perfectly prepared. I added fresh black pepper and chilli oil to mine. 10/10 and I think it was about $23. The tiramisu was good. Nothing extraordinary but definitely delicious as you can tell by the plate we cleared. Can't recall the exact price but I think it was around $11. I would definitely return for brunch!

Oretta is beautiful on the inside, the ambiance alone makes it worth visiting. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The food was amazing, especially the Piemonte pizza. You could really taste the roasted garlic, and everything felt fresh. The gnocchi was soft and perfectly cooked, with fresh herbs that tied it all together. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

My partner, and I had an amazing experience here a few weeks ago. The food, service, and ambience were incredible. It's quite beautifully decorated as well. For our meal we ordered the RAVIOLI AL TARTUFO, Broccolini, and the PIEMONTE pizza. All the dishes were fantastic. I had the CATANZARO cocktail which was wonderfully spicy. This was all served to us by Emre who was incredible. Bravo Oretta!

We made a reservation for a Sunday dinner and our table was ready upon our arrival. The restaurant is beautiful and bar in the middle of the restaurant is a positive addition to their great vibes. The staff are friendly, but sometimes it's hard to get their attention which makes the service a bit slow. We ordered "Fritto Di Calamari", "Burrata" and "Crudo Di Ricciola" to share. We really loved our choice of appetizers; perfect seasoning and fresh ingredients. For main, we shared "Polpo e Patate" (half grilled octopus), which was perfectly cooked to our liking. And we finished our meal with a delicious "Tiramisu".

Love Oretta on King Street and they have a decent happy hour deal! Was able to get a drink, appetizer, and a small pizza for $30. And I'm a huge fan of their patio and cute decor :)

Gave Oretta another try when I saw on Ritual that they have pizza. Let's make it clear, they're pizzettes, not pizza. It's smaller than a personal size pizza, but still a decent size for an individual. I tried the mushroom and cheese (pizzetta piemonte) pizzette $11.95 which honestly you must eat it there - any taking it outdoors (in this winter weather) it'll be stiff guaranteed. Overall the truffle cream is not obvious but mushroom and cheese is always a nice combo. I also picked up the tiramisu which is a nice dessert but not something you desire to get again right away. $5.50. Staffs are friendly. Space is tight and certainly will not allow for entry of an accessible motor scooter.

It was very lively for a Sunday afternoon but unfortunately the food was lacking. Portions were small and overpriced for what it is. The tuna sandwich was so underwhelming for $22 and didn't come with any sides. We opted for the $25 unlimited mimosa which was pretty good value since we each had more than 4 drinks. Washrooms were disappointing. 5/6 stalls ran out of toilet paper and I had to wait 10 mins for them to restock. Our service was okay. She came around a few times and made sure our drinks were topped. Wheelchair accessible friendly. Limited parking. Easily accessible by public transit.

I came to Oretta on a Thursday night with a friend. Even though we had reservations, the restaurant was not very busy. Oretta is beautifully styled from the ceiling, right down to the napkins. You can immediately tell that so much thought went into decorating it. They also have a large patio, with additional seating, right at the front. Our server was kind, patient and not at all overbearing. We went during happy hour, and had a few cocktails for $10. We also ordered pizzetta, calamari and pappardelle with bolognese. I would give the restaurant 3.5 stars because the food is sub-par. The portions are small for the price and the flavour is lacking. There were about 9 pappardelle in the entire plate, and the calamari were a bit soggy.

Pricey pasta but tasted amazing! We made a reservation for two people at 5pm. Service was great and our server was very friendly! We ordered and shared the Cacio Pepe, Branzino, and the Ravioli for our entrees. Cacio Pepe was made al denté which I liked and found very unique, along with the creaminess and great taste. Portion was slightly small but I would still order it again. It was also pretty cool that they finished it off in front of us by cooking it in a big cheese wheel prior to serving it to us. The ravioli was also just as great! The filling and pieces of truffle on top made the pasta taste very unique. I would also order it again. Branzino tasted good but wasn't outstanding since I had better. I wouldn't order it again and would rather order something else. Also, for dessert we got the tiramisu which they made their own modern twist to it. It was pretty much an espresso gelato with pieces of cake on it. Very yummy and perfect for finishing the experience! Overall very romantic ambiance with very yummy food

It was mid - the food was overall good but relative to the standard dining experience of the area - I expected better. The pizza was very good, quality Ingredients used but the toppings are very slim and scattered so you have to evenly distribute things yourself (8.4/10) - If I had to return, I would get a pizza. The half rack of lamb was seasoned well, cooked medium-rare with no accompanying sides, it is relatively expensive. Too rare for my preference - reminded me of sashimi texture, it was very different from what I expected and am used to (6.9/10) The calamari had a good amount of salt and was battered well but lacked variety without any squid to make it stand out. (8/10) The dining area is loud. The aesthetic is nice for a girls night out - good picture opportunities. Service was good but nothing special. It was our anniversary and it was noted in the reservation, wasn't mentioned. Overall, I don't regret going but I wouldn't return.

Style over substance Walking into Oretta expectations are set high - the staff is super welcoming and interior sets the stage for a great experience- the entry is lined with tins of stylish high quality looking EVOO (relevant to this post) Our waitress was lovely and reccomended a lovely wine ... but from there the food mediocre at best ... I ordered the Nizzara salad - described as "preserved tuna, fingerling potatoes, avocado, tomato, green beans, corn, boiled egg, romaine lettuce" Preserved tuna in a restaurant setting I would interpret as - higher quality than canned, packed in olive oil with visible chunks or fillets- What I got was was a massive bowl of romaine lettuce with tinned tuna a few boiled potatoes, corn, avocado and tomatoes (no green beans) NO SEASONING ON ANYTHING and back to the entrance - not even any olive oil drizzled over the top ... Other members of my party had the burger and the breakfast sandwich both serve with fried potatoes- but when my table asked for ketchup we were told they do not serve it b- how pretentious - if you are against processed condiments - make a homemade ketchup - instead we were offered to purchase a homemade lemon aioli for 2 dollars - which we did - there was nothing lemon about it - The lemon pancakes were flavourless and had way too much cream to pancake ratio - if you want a dish like this go to gusto 101 - way better-- I will say the pineapple with salt & olive oil is delicious and a lovely way to end a meal This restaurant had so much potential but missed the mark on so many points - it is a one and done for me

Great happy hour (aperitivo) until 7pm! They have lots of food items ranging in price from $6-15 for happy hour. We got the croquettes, fried artichoke, a pizza, and calamari. The server was kind and grated extra Parmesan on our pizza. Everything was freshly made and tasted good. The servers refilled our water multiple times even though it was busy, and gave a complimentary almond cookie with a candle for my birthday. Interior is very nice, with high ceilings. Washrooms are upstairs, there is also a large event space there. Will come back!

I knew from previous visits that the food and service were exceptional, but this week reinforced why this has become one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in the city. Max and Trevor behind the bar made the experience seamless from night one. Not only did they remember my name, they recalled my exact order and dietary needs every evening without hesitation. Traveling for work while maintaining a low sodium, heart healthy diet can be challenging, so finding consistency matters. I did not want to chance food remorse or uncertainty with ingredients, and they made sure my burrata and salmon were prepared perfectly each night. By night five, I was basically in a legally recognized relationship with burrata, salmon...and the guys. Sofia, who had provided exceptional service to us on a previous visit months ago, was there as well. I made a point to remind her how memorable and appreciated her hospitality had been, and it was great to see the same professionalism and warmth continue throughout the restaurant team. Five straight nights at the same restaurant says a lot on its own. Consistent food, genuinely attentive staff, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back. I came here with my best friend for a birthday dinner, and I could immediately see why this place has lasted for decades. It's tucked inside an old house on Elm Street, and the whole restaurant has that warm, family-run charm that makes you feel like people have been coming here for years and bringing more people back with them. The tables are definitely close together, so it's a little tight when the restaurant gets busy, but honestly that also adds to the lively energy because there was a steady flow of people coming in all night. Food-wise, there were a few dishes that really stood out. The carpaccio is such a good order, very thinly sliced raw beef, simple and classic, and honestly one of the most reasonably priced versions I've seen. My personal favorite was the prosciutto & melon. It's such a simple dish, but when it's done well, it really hits, and this one did. The real star for me though was the Cozze Marinara. The mussels were plump, tender, and clean, with no sandy bits, and the garlicky tomato sauce was so good that I ended up scooping it up with bread until the plate was basically spotless. We also tried the Vitello Marsala with mushrooms and Penne Arrabbiata, which felt very classic and comforting. If you like traditional Italian flavors, this is the kind of dish that will make you happy. That said, I personally wouldn't recommend mixing the meat and pasta together too much, I think they shine better on their own. Later we also ordered the garlic grilled seafood fettuccine because we were enjoying ourselves so much, and that one was much lighter in flavor. Nice enough, but probably not the best choice if you like richer or bolder pasta dishes. By the end we were completely full and had to leave a few strands of fettuccine behind, which almost never happens for me. Overall, Donatello feels like the kind of neighborhood Italian restaurant people return to for comfort, generous portions, and that warm family run atmosphere. It may not be the most spacious or modern place, but it has heart, and some dishes were genuinely memorable.

There is an upstairs balcony seating but I've never sat there. During warm weather, there is plenty of roadside outdoor seating too. This is my fourth time here but I never wrote a review fir the restaurant before. We ordered the following: 1. Shrimp Perno (daily special $6/shrimp). Jumbo Shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, tomatoes, scallions, and finished off with a shot of perno liquor. 2. Rack of Lamb (daily special $59.95). Four pieces of lamb in a rack, with a rich portion wine reduced sauce, that has a touch of mint to it, and Penne Pasta in a tomato rose sauce. The table bread was really good. The crust was crispy but the inside was fluffy. The soft butter that came it was so tasty. The bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce that came with the shrimp. We asked for a second basket of bread and they put two loafs in the second basket. It was too much so they were willing to let us take it home. The shrimps were definitely jumbo. It was so filling. Two pieces (per person) were good enough as an appetizer. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. We requested the lamb be cooked medium rare. It was definitely medium rare. It was juicy and did not have a gamey taste. It tastes great. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The tomato rose sauce was really good. They offered to grind parmesan cheese and pepper so we got both. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and paid parking lots. Review 2025-187

It's a dining experience you don't see every day in Toronto. Even the washrooms are memorable, tucked away in the basement in what used to be old jail cells, which adds to the charm and gives the whole place a bit of personality. We went for an early Sunday dinner before a concert at Massey Hall. The restaurant got pretty busy as the evening went on, but it never felt chaotic. The atmosphere is lovely and lively, a great choice for a special night out or a pre-show meal. We started with Calamari alla Griglia with mixed greens, capers, onions, and fresh tomatoes. It was a fresh, bright appetizer with good balance. For mains, my date had the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare with clams, mussels, calamari, scallop, and tiger shrimp in a tomato sauce. The menu described it as mildly spicy, but it definitely had a noticeable kick. Still, the flavours were really good. I ordered the Ravioli al Brasato with braised beef, butter, sage, and parmigiano. It was tasty and comforting, though portion-wise I could have used a few more ravioli. I was still a bit hungry after and honestly double the size would have been perfect for me. For dessert we shared the Tiramisu with espresso-soaked savoiardi, mascarpone, and cocoa. I had an amaro while my date finished with zambuca. A sweet and satisfying way to wrap up the meal. The service was friendly, though drinks came out a bit slower than expected. Terroni's food is tasty, the setting is gorgeous, and it's easy to see why locals keep coming back. It's not cheap, but the quality and ambience make it worth trying, especially for dinner before a show or a relaxed date night in one of Toronto's most unique spaces.

Some of the flavour combinations were just off (the skewer with fruit, cheese and something else) - like they paired the wrong cheese with the fruit. The meal itself was a seat down meal (family style) which did take over two hours to complete for the amount of guests that were present (over 200 ppl). My favorite dish was the tomato and mozza salad. My most disappointed dish was the ragu pasta. Though containing a good amount of meat it was not saucy at all. The pizza was the brocolini was good as well. The reason I gave this restaurant three stars is strictly for the lack of elevator and the food quality vs the price. For what you are paying, there is so much higher quality food in the city and I honestly think you can get better bang for buck elsewhere.
