    Sukhothai collab pizza
    Samantha P.

I tried the Maker Pizza and Sukhothai collab through SkipTheDishes and it was a really solid, tasty pizza. It has a thin crust with not much meat, but the flavour makes up for it. The sweet and spicy sauce is great, and the basil and peppers add a really nice fragrance. The dough is especially good, light and pleasant, and honestly I would order the pizza just for the dough and that sweet spicy sauce

Great pizza at Makers! There were a variety of pizzas to chose from. We ordered the Original with pepperoni. The crust was flavourful and had a good undercarriage. The only downside was that the pizza was very oily. The service was quick - it took about 15 minutes from when we ordered. Maker is a smaller restaurant with one high table and 6 seats.

So glad the servers highly recommended a slice of Franks Best OG because my first bite gave me a pizza-gasm!!! I loved the sweet and savoury combo of the flavours. So damn delicious! I'll be back for this real soon. Franks Best OG: Goat cheese, grass-fed mozzarella, caramelized onions, rosemary, sea salt, organic honey, sesame crust (applied with honey)

This dark and unassuming little hole in the wall serves up some delicious garlic and cheese bread. We don't order any pizza (there's no seating to speak of and we don't want to have to haul a lot of food as we walked around Toronto). However, thr cheesy garlic bread hit all the right notes and the friendly quick service was exactly what we needed. If and when I return, I will plan ahead because these pies look divine.

Was in the area and wanted some pizza, so made our way over to Maker Pizza. Been here before and knew they had a parking lot for their guests, so it was perfect that we were able to park there for free while grabbing our pizza. They're more of a take out spot, but have a long communal table if you'd like to sit in to enjoy your pizza. I got there around 1:30pm and there weren't any other customers in there. Ordered the Tropic Thunder and a dip. The Tropic Thunder came with mozzarella, chili infused pineapple, pickled jalapenos, pickled red onion, red chilies and salsa verde. It was good, but definitely not the best topping flavours mixed together that I've had. Personally, I like their pepperoni one better and would probably stick to that again next time. Pizza came out pretty timely, not too long or too short. Eating it in store was definitely a game changer, since it's so hot and fresh! Can't wait to try their margherita next as it's such a classic!

Incredible pizza! And friendly people. Loved the honey sesame crust. What a splendid meal.

Ordered Maker's Pizza on UberEats, went for Tropic Thunder and Frank's Best. Tropic Thunder was the top pick for me; loved how the jalapeños and chilies mixed with pineapple on a red sauce base - really tasty. Frank's Best was great too, with its white sauce, the sweetness from caramelized onions and honey, plus the sesame crust added a nice touch. Both were delicious, definitely worth a try. Looking forward to trying more of their pizzas.

    SIENA MARGHERITA and FRANK'S BEST

My friend is a big pizza fan and mentioned that this as one of his top pizza places to go to. He suggested the SIENA MARGHERITA and FRANK'S BEST. The margherita was very delicious, the flavour was pronounced and I really enjoyed the red sauce. As for the Frank's Best, it was my first time have a sweet pizza and so it was really interesting. I was surprised the crust was sweet but it surprisingly paired really well with the other ingredients like the caramelized onion and goat cheese. If I were to order from this place, I would have never considered to getting this pizza but luckily my friend recommended it to me.

Maker had a lot of hype so I eventually had to try it. The flavours were nice, but the substance wasn't there. Its a thin, floppy slice. It lacked the bite that one usually expects from pizza. There was nothing that jumped out that made it special. There are honestly many other spots in the city I'd go to before maker.

This is hands down the best pizza I've had in all of Canada! We got it fresh out of the oven and it was made to perfection. I've tried all of the sauces and each one has great flavour and compliments the pizza well. The dill ranch however was VERY salty. Too salty. Other than that, they should add an option where you can get the dips pre-added to the pizza (just like a shawarma plate, you can have the dips drizzled on the pizza). It'll just make for less make and make the pizza a little more saucy. If they changed those couple of things, then I'd give them a 5 star rating!

    Dr Pepperoni
    Donna S.

We got to try the Dr Pepperoni, Franks Best, and So Mushroom and all of them were delicious! I'm not even a pepperoni fan but theirs made with pepperoni cups/ ezzo pepperoni was delicious- so generous with the toppings . The mushrooms pizza was unique and very flavourful. I also liked all the sesame seeds on the crust of Franks Best, more pizza places should do this!! First time we ordered it was pick up. Second time we ordered for delivery via their app and it took 2 hrs :( Otherwise the rating would be higher.

It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

Nice local Italian restaurant that is enjoyed by us locals as well as those who come down for shows…read moreat the St Lawrence ctr for the arts and the Meridian Hall as well as sports fan here for games. They have a great stock of wines and an impressive drink list that we don't get to enjoy as we can't handle drinks these days. We do enjoy the food and the friendly service immensely tho. Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
