We had two pizzas, one gluten free and also had a lasagna. The meat lovers was very tasty, as others have said bacon is super crispy which is great. Crust is super thin kind of like flat bread. Very tasty. The gluten free was good too apparnetly. The lasagna was supposedly good and looked amazing, rather than a bechamel sauce which I am always looking for and rarely finding here, they had it sitting in a bath of vodka sauce. I ordered the apple pecan salad and a margherita pizza online when I was in town recently for a work trip and I was not impressed. Honestly, the salad was better than the pizza, which I found to be kind of weird given that pizza is in their name. It was also rather pricy for what I got. If I were to try Jz Pizza again, I would likely skip on delivery and dine in instead. read more

Dinner in Toronto with the family! Cute little place. Friendly service. The garlic shrimp appetizer was so good that we had to order a second one. The gnocchi rose was delicious. The gnocchi was light and fluffy, and the sauce was smooth and rich in flavor. The lasagna was also very good. My son loved the thin crust cheese pizza. This is my second time here. The first time I wasn't even aware Yelp had a coupon here (spend $25 for $50 - essentially 50% off!). Both times my food was very delicious. So far I've tried the Jambalaya pasta and the lasagna, as well as a couple different pizzas. They're all incredible! This restaurant is located pretty centrally to the theatre so it's great for a pre-show (or post-show) meal. They also offer both chilli flakes and chilli oil to top your food, which is the perfect pairing. With the Yelp coupon the food here is an AMAZING deal (most pizzas/pastas are around $20 or less so you can get a dish for $10 essentially). I definitely recommend anyone check this place out and take advantage of this awesome deal while it lasts. This is define one of the better Italian places I've tried in the city. read more

Great Food! The Canadian Pizza was amazing. The environment was very nice and enjoyable. And the it came in less than 15 minutes.

Looking for a quick place to grab lunch in between movies during TIFF, we found Jz's. The very small restaurant had two of the six tables occupied and an empty bar when we arrived on a Sunday in the early afternoon. We split the Canadian pizza, which was topped with cured pork pepperoni, applewood smoked bacon, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese. The 11 inch pizzas are cut in to 8 slices and are enough to share if you aren't too hungry. The pizza didn't take long to bake. The crust was crispy on the edges but the middle of the pizza was a little soggy, which isn't ideal. We checked out the daily specials and on Sundays, they offer half off of desserts. We ordered their raspberry greek yogurt cheesecake and three layer old fashioned chocolate cake, both of which were really good. Prices here are very reasonable and the service was great. read more

The only complaint I have with this dish is that I thought it was going to taste more like peanut butter than it actually ended up tasting like ESPECIALLY because the first two words in the dish title are "peanut butter". Otherwise, still a very dense dessert that was a good ending to the meal ~ [Iced Coffee] $3.50 - somehow, I ordered mine with milk and one sugar, but it tasted worse than the one my boyfriend ordered without sugar? Maybe the quality of the coffee was good enough that it could have done without the sugar but I really needed caffeine to stay awake for the Sound of Music that we were heading to afterwards! Still not a bad cup of coffee, just not the best but like I said, maybe the one sugar I requested to be added into it ruined the whole cup. Jz's is one of my fav pizza places in Toronto. Their food and service both are great. I went there a few times and all the time their service was top notch. I only tried their vegetarian pizza but it was well worth it. The place is pretty small so might not be good for all occasions. They also have outdoor seatings which is fun during summers. read more

I think my disappointment (and I use that term loosely) was that I was expecting a Neapolitan wood-fired pizza experience. Jz's is decidedly not that. The pizza they do provide is certainly delicious and acceptable, but wasn't that I was looking for during a week-day special. I chose the Jz's signature which included homestyle tomato sauce, minced garlic, shredded mozzarella, aged gorgonzola, cured calabrese, salami, sweet roasted red pepper, fresh mushrooms & green onions. Is it a lot going on? Yep, but the toppings were generous and complimentary, with plenty of freshly grated parmesan cheese available to add as you see fit. For the record, the service was attentive and very professional. The Wednesday specials of pasta dishes for a $12 caught my attentions and I'll likely give those options a try in the future. read more

Thank god this place was open. It was quiet and cozy, very inviting. We were welcomed warmly by a man who seated us with menus. I ordered a sub and my boyfriend ordered a pizza. Not bad! Ordered the JZ pizza and the chicken pesto pasta. The pizza crust was a consistent thickness throughout, but it wasn't that chewy/fluffy which is my preference. Lots and lots of raw garlic flavour though which I liked. Penne pasta had a chewy texture and tasted fresh. The sauce was good too. But I thought maybe both dishes were overly seasoned (for my tastes). I tend to like when the seasoning is more subtle, so that I can taste more of the ingredients themselves. They're working on getting a liquor license, so should have alcohol soon! read more

He was incredibly accommodating and hospitable, ensuring that we would get our food and bill before the show starts. The highlight of the salad were the candied pecans (which the owner's mom makes!) and the Quattro carne pizza had the perfect thin crust (FYI, the dough is also made by the owner's mom!) loaded with a generous amounts of protein. If I had to be picky, I would say the pizza could be spicier All in all, I would give this place 5 stars. The owner was accommodating, friendly and professional. Our choices were the Margarita and the Vegetarian and both were great. We paired them with original sugar Coke and ate every last bit. I made a Ritual takeout order from Jz's Pizza yesterday, so I didn't spend more than a few minutes inside, therefore my review is only about the food. Jz's offers a wide variety of pizzas , subs, pasta plates, and desserts to choose from. I went with the Create Your Own Pizza option and was very pleased with the selection of ingredients to choose from. You can pick from 7 different sauces, 6 cheeses, multiple meats, veggies, and seafood options, and also combine them. I ordered a small pizza with many of my favourite vegetables (if you know me you'll know why that's funny ;P). Take a look at my pictures for a full description. I also ordered a very decadent Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie Cheesecake for dessert - which is gluten free if you're looking for that sort of thing. I picked up the pizza, brought it home, and tucked in. It was delicious! Fresh, juicy, flavour-packed, basically just perfect and just what I was looking for. The crust was tasty as well and had a nice crunch around the edges, just the right amount! Thinking about it now, I'm resisting the urge to order another one immediately. This restaurant was an unexpected surprise. We were looking for a lunch place that was close to the city centre, and landed here by chance. The Jz's Signature Pizza had plenty of fresh toppings and bright flavors on a thin crispy base. We also got the braised beef ravioli, which had 7 large ravioli's stuffed with a sizable amount of tender braised beef. Both dishes seemed home made and was perfect for a quick italian lunch. The space itself is small, with one row of bench/table seating opposite the bar. We were only the second group of people there during lunchtime on a weekday, so was free to sit anywhere we wanted. It never got too busy, with the maximum of three groups of people at anytime. The service was friendly and prompt, checking up on us periodically to make sure we were finding everything okay.
