I couldn't wait for the photo! I had already half eaten my blood orange and raspberry sorbet. Soooo delicious!

We tried this restaurant on Sunday evening and we were really pleased. The food is delicious, generous portions, staff really attentive to our needs. Ray was our server and was great at his job We had the ceasar salad, fried calamaris, fish and pasta with seafood and everyone raved about their selection For desert we had the homemade Tiramisu and the sorbet. Desert was amazing! I recommend you try this restaurant for the good food, ambiance and staff

Amazing Italian food. We celebrated a family birthday here recently and everything was amazing. We started with the grilled calamari, and shared the Linguine Pescatore, Quattro Stagioni pizza, Genoa pizza, and the Grilled Fish special of the day. Every dish was different from each other but delicious in their own way. I particularly loved the Linguine and the Genoa pizza, but like the server said "we dug holes in all of the dishes". I would recommend sharing dishes where possible, so you can taste all the different flavors available. Also, they had an extensive wine list and we were able to find an Italian wine that we had never seen before. It paired perfectly with the meal. To finish off the night, we shared the Topsy Turvy Cheesecake and the Tiramisu. The cheesecake was a lovely surprise as it is decorated so uniquely. I personally liked the tiramisu, as the flavors really stand out. You can't go wrong here!

Great Italian food! Came here last Sunday to celebrate my niece's bday. The place was bustling as the restaurant was completely full at 6:30pm. It was partly due to a huge party that took up half the restaurant. I was really impressed with the service. At first, I was a bit concerned that they would be disorganized because the servers were rushing around as the party group was leaving but they still managed to quickly bring us the bread and took our orders. They knew exactly what they needed to do to keep the customers happy. We had 7 orders of mains and we got our food within 15 mins. Wow, that was fast! All the dishes were nicely plated and the portions were huge. The food was excellent! We all enjoyed our dishes especially the linguine shrimp & scallop, mahi mahi fish and mushroom risotto. We will definitely be back!

I mean.. What's left to say? I've been to every italian restaurant in this italian-ass city of mine. Love so many of them, they are so warm and inviting and fresh and amazing. But Farro really is the cream of the crop. The best of the best. The hyperbole of the hyperbole. The food. The atmosphere. The service. THE FOOD. Just stunning. Stop reading this and just go here. Now. Thank me later.

The food was good but the service left a lot to be desired. My boyfriend and I had a 6:30 pm reservation on Saturday night and when we arrived, the restaurant was virtually empty. Despite many 2-4 person tables being empty, we were seated wedged between the second entrance door and the register where servers punched in orders. We didn't think much of it at first but after we got our bread, we noticed that people were walking through the door often, letting the cold air in and hovering around our table while they waited for a server. Also, the phone behind us kept ringing quite loudly and there were people squeezing by our table often to access the register. We kindly asked if we could move to one of the many open tables and they returned saying that they were all reserved. Usually I'd say this is fair, but we arrived long before all those tables were filled and people don't typically book a specific table when making reservations so...I'm not sure why they couldn't accommodate us. Anyways, the food was decent but the service was surprisingly bad. We sat for no longer than 1 hour and made our way out because we simply weren't enjoying ourselves at that horribly placed table. There are plenty of good Italian restaurants in the GTA and we definitely won't be returning to Farro.

Ordered takeout, a classic, prepared 'the traditional way'--veal parmigiana and it was very good. Veal tender, well cooked. Served with vegetable sides. The Caesar salad app was also well done, not creamy and with both the parmesan flakes and crostini, it was well served. We also tried the gnocchi with simple tomato sauce and this is where they failed me. Everything else was well done, however.

Glad that I called ahead to make a reservation. This restaurant is a little gem in the neighbourhood. Very busy since the food and service is great. Food: Lots of choices on their menu. They provide complimentary bread with a homemade hummus after you order. I ordered a lamb stew which was very good. Tender and flavourful, it made you want more. My husband who is not a big fan of lamb also liked it and wished had ordered one for himself. We finished off with tiramisu for dessert. Homemade and very authentic, it was very enjoyable. Service: Service was good. I liked how they checked in periodically to see if everything was okay.

This place is the perfect environment for a cute romantic date, a birthday, dinner with family/large group of friends or even privately (well kind of) discuss about ending a relationship! (2 of the above has happened to me, you can take a wild guess). I've also witnessed the waiter singing for the bday girl/boy, a suggestion if you want to make them feel special or embarrassed. Italian is not my normal go-to so I'm not an expert but there seems to be a quite a few GenX and older Italians who frequent this place. The menu has the traditional Italian meal structure with antipasti, primi, secondi. This place serves large portions in general so you can just order a primi or secondi and be full. Overall good value and taste and would be back for special occasions if it wasn't so far for me. Came here twice a while ago, so my memory is faint but the dishes that stood out: Risotto con Asparagi e Gamberi - Spelt Grain with Asparagus & Tiger Shrimps ($23.95) - If you like rosotto this is worth a try, very interesting grain texture and unique subtle flavour, some people will dig this but it's a bit bland for my taste. I like the mushroom rosotto below much more. Linguine Pescatore- Mussels, Clams, Shrimps & Scallops in a Tomato Sauce ($20.95) - Very generous seafood and pasta portion and great flavour Steamed Mussels with White Wine, Tomato Sauce & a hint of Pernod ($12.95) - Quite a large portion and I love the tomato-based sauce that comes with it Other Items Ordered: Wood Oven Roasted Rack of Lamb with Zesty Mint & Red Wine Sauce ($32.95) - Not the best I've tried but it was perfectly cooked. Always love a good lamb chop Risotto ai Funghi- Italian Rice with Wild Mushrooms, Parmigiano & Truffle Essence ($17.95) - Stronger flavour than the spelt rosotto so I like it more but it's the typical rosotto texture you would expect Shrimps in Love- sautéed Tiger prawns with white wine, garlic & herbs ($14.95) - I'm sure it was good but it was not really memorable Smoked Salmon with Marinated Red Onions & Capers ($14.95) - Smoked salmon is just good but wouldn't say it's better than just buying the frozen packet from the grocery store

Located in Maple this authentic Italian restaurant has good food and friendly service. Went their for lunch. We ordered various appetizers including gluten free pizza. From the pasta to the meat and fish entrees we all ordered, the food was delicious and fresh. They have a good selection of wines. Lots of space for groups or romantic tables for two. Will go back again.

It would be a bit of a pain to get to by transit from Vaughan Metropolitan Centre though. Inside, it's spacious and open, with a massive wine rack right at the front. They also have two separate areas: the main dining room and a "next door" section that's basically its own room, which is nice if you want a slightly different vibe. Service: 3.5/5 They get busy (like "book days in advance" busy), so service can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes it took a while for our server to swing by, but food came out in a reasonable timeframe once we ordered. Definitely recommend reserving ahead. Food: 3.5/5 Big Italian menu with lots of pasta and pizza options, plus mains like chicken parm, lamb chops, and branzino. The wine and cocktail lists are extensive, which fits the whole "giant wine wall" aesthetic. The Caesar salad was honestly the standout, really well done. The starter bread was a miss for us: a bit stale and not warmed, like it had been sitting out for a while. Dessert, though, redeemed things. The dessert menu has a lot of variety, and the toffee dessert our server recommended was great, especially with the vanilla ice cream. Overall, solid spot with real highlights, but I'd love to see more consistency across the rest of the menu.

I had never been here before, so there was a brief hesitation since I thought this could either make me look like a foodie genius or a complete fraud. But then I saw photos of the beautiful olive tree in the dining room and thought, well... any restaurant confident enough to put a tree in the middle probably knows what it's doing. I was sold. The verdict? I'm glad I brought them--though there was one small caveat. The one con: We started with the Vegetarian Board. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked, but I have to call out a small disappointment: the menu clearly says "chef's selection of vegetables and olives." Reader, unfortunately...there were no olives. Not a single olive in sight. In a restaurant with an olive tree, no less. The irony was almost poetic. Minor false advertising aside, the broccolini was also a bit more bitter than I personally enjoy. Now the pros (and there were many): The rest of the meal was exceptional--fresh, satisfying, and very authentically Italian. To start, we had fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The olive oil alone almost stole the show. It was incredibly fragrant, with that bright, crisp olive flavour that lingers on your palate like it was pressed five minutes ago. I may or may not have eaten more bread than dignity allows. For my main, I had the pasta special of the day: oxtail casarecce, and it was fantastic. The sauce was creamy and packed with umami. The oxtail was tender and chewy at the same time, somehow both hearty and melt-in-your-mouth. And the pasta itself was clearly fresh--springy, perfectly textured. Fresh pasta really does make all the difference. My coworker ordered the paccheri con zucchine e gamberetti, which I sampled strictly for research purposes. It was lighter and refreshing, with delicate zucchini that made the whole dish feel balanced and satisfying. My other colleague went with the daily secondi special: pesce alla griglia (sea bream). I also tried a bite of that, and it was excellent--crispy skin on the outside, tender and flaky inside, juicy and full of flavour. The only small drawback was that the sides were the exact same vegetables as the ones from our Vegetarian Board, so by round two my colleague was a little overwhelmed by the déjà-vu of vegetables. Then came dessert--easily everyone's favourite part of the night. Two of us ordered the tiramisu, and honestly, it might be one of the best I've had. When they serve it, they pour a freshly brewed shot of espresso over the top, which soaks into the layers and perfectly complements the mascarpone and cream underneath. It was ridiculously good. Our other coworker ordered the pistachio strawberry cake and absolutely demolished it in about two seconds flat, which I think is the highest possible dessert endorsement. Price-wise: this isn't a cheap casual spot, but it's very reasonable for a high-quality dinner. My pasta, dessert, and service came out to almost $70, which felt fair for the experience. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm, and overall we had a genuinely lovely dinner. Most importantly, bringing my coworkers here made me look like I actually know what I'm doing when recommending restaurants--which is always a win. Olives or not, I'd happily come back. And next time, I'm thinking date night.
