Came here for lunch and it's like going back to the 50s where all the diners are dressed up and of the older generation. We got the mussels, 2 fettucines (one pesto, one cream based) and the tortellini. Each entree is pretty pricey ~$25 but at least the portion sizes were also large as well. I've been to Marcellos multiple times and it never disappoints. Marcellos offers a wide variety of menu options including salads, pizze, pasta, entrees, cocktails and dessert. We started off with the "Italian"'cocktail to drink followed by the pear salad. I really enjoyed the salad and found it light and refreshing. We also ordered the pizza Bianca and the Mozzafiato. Both pizze were delicious, with a perfectly charred crust. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant seems recently renovated and offered and modern and vibrant feel. read more

Located near Vaughn Mills and in a food plaza, there's plenty of parking spots. From outside, it didn't impress, but once you enter the restaurant, it looks classy and elegant with a wall of red wine display. My friends already got us a table at their side patio which is a nice surprise. I couldn't see it from the front of the restaurant. The service was great and the washroom was nice and clean. The bread was chewy and they gave their sauces ready on the table. For our main dishes, we all got pizzas. It all looked delicious. Mine was yummy with non-burned sun-dried tomatoes (that was the highlight of the pizza). The pizza dough did get hard instead of chewy on my last slice of it. This was a great place to stop by when I was here for lunch. The food is quality and their menu is extensive. There was an issue when I ordered a pizza though. I eat pescatarian and there was sausage in my pizza which was an issue because it got mixed up with another customers. The restaurant was quick to fix it and I was thankful for the solution. The only negative note is that I found most of the dishes we ordered lacked salt. But that is an easy fix on my part. Otherwise the situation at Marellos is great! read more

We decided to give this place a try after shopping at Vaughan Mills. When we got there, there was a 30 minute wait. We put our name and gave our phone number and went to wait in the car. We decided to go in around 30 minutes and we got our table almost 5 minutes later. Makes me wonder if they would've called my phone if we were still waiting in the car. Hmmmm.... The restaurant is surprisingly elegant, with the space being the size of a ballroom and the lights being dimmed to evoke a romantic atmosphere. The restaurant follows a white color scheme, with the only non-white item being a coat rack that's situated behind a column. Chandeliers hang over the tables, which seat up to 4 people, and the kitchen can be seen on the side of the restaurant. Wine display cases are also situated behind some of the tables as well. Daughter ordered Orecchiette alla Puglies, which is spicy Italian sausage, rapini, sweet red cherry tomatoes and hot peppers in a garlic EVOO sauce. She loved this a lot and said that the sausage was perfect and she loved the rapini. Everything about this was great. Hubs ordered Pizza di Bufala, which has San Marzano tomato sauce, fior di latte cheese, fresh basil and EVOO. Hubs LOVED this pizza. He was pleasantly surprised. This was our first pizza in Canada and we were very happy it was a great experience. Lastly, I decided to get the Insalata Cesare, which has Caesar dressing, parmigiana, house baked focaccia croutons. We love this salad. Hubs is convinced that they have raw eggs in the salad dressing because caesar salad usually has raw eggs. Nevertheless, it was great. The croutons were crispy and soft. I loved it. Usually, croutons are hard elsewhere but it was obvious they made the croutons in-house. There were still people waiting as we were leaving. I love that this place doesn't rush you out the door. Food is good but they lost a star for a few reasons. Its the onky it is loan place I have been to in 30 years that charged for bread and hot water. Bread is free at every Italian place. I know a few people that felt taken advantage off due to the fact they charge for bread and wont come back here out of principle. I bet they have a lot of customer complaints about this. I came here one weekday afternoon with a few of my colleagues for lunch, the restaurant was quite full but thank goodness we didn't have to wait long for a table. We have ordered grilled calamari as appetizer, pear and prosciutto arugula salad, and black tiger shrimp linguine. The grilled calamari was delicious, and the pesto sauce balanced the saltiness from the calamari. The salad was super refreshing! The pear was crunchy and has the crisp in every bite, together with the prosciutto, it was a well-balanced sweet-and-savory dish! The linguine was cooked al dente, with a strong garlic flavour. Came by for a dinner unplanned. Just had a craving for Italian The mussels hit the spot enough for me but I do wish the marinara was a bit more thick and a touch of wine. It was just a tiny underwhelming. The calamari was good size pieces but lacking a bit in flavor. Pasta was disappointing. I ordered penne ala vodka and the sauce was extremely watery. I can appreciate that if they had seasoned the sauce a bit more and perhaps cooked it to a thicker consistency, it would be drastically different. Sadly this did not hit the spot. I had lunch yesterday at Marcello's Pizzeria. I've had pizza there before and it was good so I ordered a pepperoni pizza ... yum! I took some home. Arthur, my server, asked me if I wanted dessert. I wasn't hungry but it's been busy busy week so I asked what they had. He listed the usual Italian desserts but also said sprinkle cake. I asked him what that was and he said a cake with sprinkles. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the front staff were a bit disoriented and had a lack of strategy for our party of 15. We were told we weren't able to make a reservation so we came earlier in the evening to avoid the main rush. They quoted a 35mins wait which became over an hour because the hostess didn't seat tables accordingly to start prepping for us. We were a bit uncomfortable to wait in their tiny vestibule and with other customers confused with our party waiting. Once we were finally seated, our server was phenomenal. Extremely attentive and mindful and efficient. She was lovely to deal with and took great care of us. Food was delicious as always. Lots of different interesting cool Gourmet pizzas. I had the Pizza Bianca Bianca roasted garlic, gorgonzola, fior di latte cheese, dry figs, arugula, speck (smoked prosciutto) drizzled with balsamic glaze. They charge extra for additions or changes but when I asked to have one of the most expensive items removed from the pizza, they didn't reduce the price. $25. I think the pizza had some pretty cool notes to it with the figs, balsamic vinegar and arugula but something underneath had this powder texture and at other times a sticky paste. I didn't know what it was. You have to eat this fresh because if you take this home to heat it up in the oven, arugula will dry up and become kind of Blackish Brown. This is more a place for adults to come in socialize. The kids won't like the pizza here. read more

Takeout experience review. Many of my friends that live within Vaughan highly recommend Marcellos for Italian. While I didnt try their pizza as I know they're woodfired which can be hard to predict when ordering takeout, so I opted for pasta and soup. Staff were very accommodating on the phone, given we to make some dietary adjustments to our order. When I went to pick it up, they confirmed with me that the dietary adjustments have been made and is written on the boxes etc. Friendly and fast as well! Fried Calamari 5/5 - very soft and had a good springy texture to the calamari. Lightly battered and freshly fried with a hint of herbs for taste. The accompanying sauce was well balanced, not overly salted, and paired well with the calamari. Minestrone Soup 4.5/5 - overall a nice blend of italian flavour profile that I do associate with this soup. Well balanced in seasoning and doesnt taste oily as I sometimes get that experience with soups. Good amount of veggies. Seafood Linguini 5/5 - pasta cooked al-dente and still had a lovely texture even after 30 minutes of travel. A generous amount of mussels, with good portions of other seafood included (scallops, prawns, calamari). Marinara sauce has rich tomato flavours, a nice blend of herbs, good tang but hint of sweetness. Good consistency and not watered down. Coated pasta nicely. Chicken with Spinach, Sundried tomatoes and Rose sauce 4/5 - lovely creamy blend and can taste the wine that they added to enhance the flavour profile. Compared to the seafood linguini, it did get a bit heavy with the cream sauce, but well seasoned, good chunks of chicken (was not dry) and nice sundried tomato flavours shining through. Texture of penne was al dente as well. One downfall was that the bread was a bit hard, probably because it was already lightly toasted and then got cold when arrived back at home. So we were looking for a quick fix and a patio option when we found Marcellos on yelp. Thank you yelp! And we agree Marcellos speaks to its reviews anc standa out in service and food both. We ordered aranchini to be shared between the two for starters it was 3.5/5, my hubby did a chi ken pesto fettuccini pasta he mentioned that it was the best pesto out of italy he ever had, so 5/5. I had burrata san marzano spaghetti pasta vegetarian 4/5 . It was good but nothing out of the world. But what made Marcellos stand out- the service 5/5, the condiments 5/5, the location and seating 5/5. Also how the food was prepared the pasta spaghetti was thin and cooked to a perfection. Al-denta and the sauce was not looking like a garnish on pasta was ample and i could use some complimentary bread to dip in the sauce and enjoy. The bread was refilled if you ask for it. ( it would be nice if they serve it warm, adds a lot of value to the food) Our server was very friendly and was paying attention to us at all times even though he was serving 3 other table i guess. Marcello's has been one of my favourite spots for Italian food for years! I usually always get the pizza; my go to is the pizza al pollo and it never disappoints. The goat cheese, grilled chicken, sun-dried tomato and fresh basil is the most delicious combination! We also got the pizza diavola the last time which was very good as well, I like that it has just a hint of spice. We ended the night with their homemade tiramisu, which was honestly some of the best tiramisu I have ever eaten. The service is always great, servers are always very friendly. This is also a great spot for COVID dining, as the patio has plenty of space. I have also gotten takeout from Marcello's multiple times and I always enjoy it. Thoroughly enjoyed my take-out experience here. Walked in around 6pm and asked for a Margherita. I also wanted to know how long it would take since I have been to stores that take 15-30 minutes for just one pie. To my amaze, after placing my order, my pie was ready in less than 3 minutes. I noticed the waiter taking my take out order go and ask the kitchen to make my food with haste. Regardless, the pizza tasted great and was definitely one of the better ones I've had in this area. The dough was flavourful and tasty, with a good portion of fresh mozzarella. It wasn't extra greasy and the tomato sauce complimented the rest of the pizza well. One thing to note is that the crust does not have the signature "leopard" pattern and charring spots you would find on Neapolitan pizza, nevertheless, it still tastes great. Overall the main complaint was the price of the Margherita. With it being $17 after tax (not tip), I'm not sure I could imagine paying any more if I were to dine in for just a Margherita. read more

But telling me I can't customize my pizza or telling me they can't use a clean cutter is something I could not phantom to have done at ANY restaurant. I paid $95 for 3 pizzas I think you can put in more effort than that to please your customers. There is many other wood oven pizza places out there that I can go to and perhaps have a way better experience. if you're not Caucasian I will give this place a second thought. The service is also nice and friendly. The bad: I ordered the insalata di arugula. I highly don't recommend getting the salad. It was $14 and nothing special except arugula with a few walnuts and goat cheese. I love salad and this was pretty disappointing. I guess this is why it's called a pizzeria. I am writing this in the parking lot of the restaurant as my boyfriend and I just had dinner at Marcello's. First off. The food is good. However the service is a different story. We had Aneliya as our waitress. Friendly but pushy. We were rushed out of the restaurant. We asked for a few min to decide on a main..not 30 seconds later she's back at the table. We had to keep asking her for water refills. We spent over $130 for the two of us on food and alcohol...we were caught by surprise when we paid our bill and she had the audacity to come back to the table to complain about her tip. Ridiculous as we tipped fairly. Tipping is a courtesy. Not an obligation. Marcello's needs to get rid of staff like this. Completely unacceptable. Especially because it was done in front of other customers. We definitely won't be back just for this reason. If you have to visit Marcello's go to the one at St Clair and dufferin because the Woodbridge staffing sucks. read more

The food were decent, we ordered calamari as appetizer, couple of pizzas and pastas to try. Pizza was good oozing with cheese and a nice thin crust. I really want to like this place since everyone always hypes it up. Service here is very slow and they are always in a rush so you can't even get a word in when you need something. My friend and I come here for lunch and we started off with calamari for an appetizer. It arrived cold and tasted burnt so I'm guessing something in the air fryer was burning. We were in the mood for pasta, but have yet to find a place that everyone can agree on, but tonight I think we found it! Marcellos might be a Pizzeria, but their pasta is really great! We ordered the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, which was good but the least exciting of the dishes, a bit too bland and sweet. The Orecchiette alla Pugliese was really good and spicy, with spicy sausage, rapini, cherry tomatoes, and hot peppers. The Linguine di Mazara, was simple but delicious with really big tiger shrimp, cherry tomatoes, baby arugula in a simple olive oil spicy garlic sauce. Everyone's favourite was the Fettuccine Alfonzo, with grilled chicken, porcini mushrooms, baby arugula in a roasted garlic cream sauce - very decadent and so tasty! We asked for bread and received 3 tiny pieces, but the bread wasn't that great so we weren't that disappointed about that. The Caesar salad was really large but we wished it had a bit more garlic and anchovy flavour, and the croutons were really hard instead of crunchy. The true star, and we wish we had ordered more (but will next time) was the Tiramisu. They only have one dessert on the menu here, and we understand why. This was hands down the best Tiramisu we had ever tasted. The Marscapone is so light but so creamy and rich at the same time. The lady fingers might be cake, it was so tender and melts in your mouth. This was a dessert that was big enough to share, but next time, we will order more so we don't have to share! ;) A busy place on the weekend, but every with a packed restaurant and a big table full of orders waiting to be picked up, our order was ready to pick up on time as promised when we placed the order on the website. read more
