The place was packed and we got seated quickly with a reservation. The service was attentive and the food was also quite nice, fresh and flavourful.

We went there for Valentine's dinner and was greeted by a man whom we showed our vaccine passport. It was followed by a friendlier host who sat us even though we were early. To our surprise, there was a gentleman who performed live music in English and Italian. The entrance was dim and romantic with one spectacular chandelier. The rest of the lights were more rustic. I have to say first, the service was not the greatest for an Italian place. And then came the bread which was stale!! Shocked!! Bad bread!!! The menu was extensive and it also had a special menu for tonight. We both ordered pasta dishes. My partner had the veal bolognese which he devoured it. He did say it was too "tomatoey" for him. I had the seafood linguini which had a nice presentation. The pasta was chewy. There was not enough seafood, for a seafood dish! The sauce was good. After I paid, the receipt was thrown at me and no evening salutations. What?? I didn't like that. Leaving the place, I don't think I'll be back. The best part was the live music. Not worth the money and the drive there.

An amazing Italian restaurant, I would definitely recommend it. The main draw is the food. I have tried a few of their pastas so far; the Paccheri Bolognese (as you can see in my Yelp bio Bolognese is my go to!), the Spaghetti with Rapini and sausage, and the Pappardelle al Coniglio, and the Gnocchi Pistaccio and they've all been delicious. It's easily one of my favorite pasta places in the city. For appetizers I would recommend the Polenta Fries (we get them every time), the mascarpone, spinach, and artichoke dip, and the calamari. The location of the restaurant is good as well. Located in the Village at Vaughan Mills it's just off the Hwy 400 at the Bass Pro Mills Drive Exit. I have family living north of the city so it's a great spot for us to meet them and then go to Vaughan Mills after if we have time. The restaurant has a small, well decorated interior and and a patio for the summer. The service has always been great too, they've been very nice every time I've visited. It is a busy restaurant so we usually make reservations and they've been nice enough to fit us in a bit earlier even if they're pretty much full. Just give them a call to make reservations. Overall, I would highly recommend 255 by Alta Rossa. It's a great Italian restaurant. I'm glad I was introduced to it!

Love this Italian restaurant. Food is good with big serving. They were busy when we were here Nothing fancy about the interiors. I liked the apetizers, Calamari and Spinach dip as well as the Chicken Parm.

    Awful experience. Don't go.

Worst customer service ever!!!! Nightmare!!DON'T GO! The food were prepared slow and we ordered July 28th's special T-bone Veal to be cooked as medium. However it came as well-done and tasted really really dry. The waitress said she would ask the manger to do something for it. But we didn't hear back until the bill is ready. After a long wait, one old lady named Pat came as she is the manager, probably she is the owner. After we told her the problem, she asked "did you eat it?" "What would you like me to do about it?". It was so rude to ask customers these questions, like all we want was just getting waive of $29 from the $300 bill. We had been very patient during the whole waiting for their response. She didn't even say any apologized word to show she cares. I have been to many Italian restaurants in the neighborhood but this is the worst experience ever. It was so offended to be treated like this so we just paid them and walk out from this terrible place. Although this is a family owned restaurant, good customer service is always valued and will bring sustainable growth of a business. I have to say the way the manger/owner talk to us was totally unprofessional and outrageous. Her attitude ruined the whole experience. Very disappointed and feel sorry for the staff who work at this restaurant for the poor management. Will never come again for sure and highly not recommend any one to come.

Found locally near Vaughan Mills mall and recently open for Outdoor dining and indoor dining! Was quite excited to try the pasta here based on the previous reviews, however, there were a few things I feel the restaurant can improve on. - Service of food from appetizers to entrees was extremely long. I and many others around us at several tables waited for quite some time just to receive ask for the bill, plus a little longer just to receive it and pay. - The food itself was tasty and the pasta (especially the gnocchi was great). However, it was heavily soaked in sauce that took away from the actual pasta. Let alone the extra $5 charge my friend received for spinach... there were probably a few spinach leaves (not even a handful) but mushrooms were less than a dollar. - The outdoor layout has two separate sections that I think may be a disadvantage to the staff. One part of the outdoor seating is isolated in a corner that isn't seen right when you walk into the tent, and that could be the reason as to why it took so long for this area to receive service.

Nice place. Even better ambiance. They make Covid dinning - comfortable. Carbonara was good but too much onion. Will forgo next time. Simple penne con sugo was good. Pizza was cooked perfectly and pizza dough was fab. The calamari were fantastic. Will come back.

Happy Place I don't think you could make a bad decision here Don't let the signage fool you, the food feels like it should be fresh from nona's kitchen. As per usual, I requested the help of my nice server (who happened to be the owners daughter) 1/ PACCHERI BOLOGNESE Slow simmered lamb and veal in tomato sauce 2/ DIAVOLO Tomato sauce, mozzarella, salami, hot sausage, hot peppers, black olives, arugula Both delicious. I'd have a difficult time not ordering the same thing again - it was SO good!

I don't know why this place doesn't have more reviews, it's a great little restaurant tucked away near Vaughn Mills shopping center! Immediately when I entered, I was impressed by the expansive ceilings and wine menu. We ordered a margherita pizza to share, the butternut squash gnocchi, a vegetarian pesto penne pasta, and the orange & apricot salmon. The margherita pizza was nothing to impress - couldn't really taste the basil on it and the cheese was too runny. Both pasta dishes made up for this though, as they were flavorful and portion sizes were extremely generous. The orange and apricot salmon was also soft and well cooked, but the apricot taste was a little off-putting to be honest. It was on a bed of rice with black beans, which were yummy but perhaps not the best pairing for the citrus salmon. Throughout the dinner, our server was extremely kind and attentive, even when a larger party came in for a dinner party. If you're in the area, I'd recommend this place. If you dine downtown you get half the portions for this price, and you have to pay parking!

This place was bustling at lunch. Amazing service although they were busy. We had the calamari that is some of the best and the bread was served with hot peppers that were delish. I have the lobster pasta in saffron infused brandy sauce that I dream about. Can't wait to go back

    Polenta Fries

Everything that we ordered at this restaurant was amazing and the servers were friendly and accommodating. The highlight for me was the polenta fries, you definitely have to try them. The bolognese and agnolotti pastas were really good too

A good menu. Small place and an excellent wine offering. The staff is friendly and engaging. When in Vaughan, stop by for the Penne.

The restaurant usually closes for special celebrations/events during the day on weekends, so we were very grateful that they could accommodate us this one-time :) The service was A+, very friendly and welcoming host and servers. I absolutely loved the soup of the day: Minestrone. It was so hearty, delicious and filled with so much ingredients. The beet salad with arugula and feta cheese was delicious. The Genoa pizza was nice and thin, and loaded with pesto, pine nuts, chicken, mushrooms and cheeses. I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu (I'm eye that risotto our friend was having that day lol). Can't wait to come back!

My pizza was decent, but the wife's lamb shank was extremely tender and rich. Couldn't really evaluate the seafood pasta....but it seemed pretty good as our kid killed the entire order. The tiramisu was really really good, but what really was impressive was the ambiance and the service. I had never been here before, so there was a brief hesitation since I thought this could either make me look like a foodie genius or a complete fraud. But then I saw photos of the beautiful olive tree in the dining room and thought, well... any restaurant confident enough to put a tree in the middle probably knows what it's doing. I was sold. The verdict? I'm glad I brought them--though there was one small caveat. The one con: We started with the Vegetarian Board. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked, but I have to call out a small disappointment: the menu clearly says "chef's selection of vegetables and olives." Reader, unfortunately...there were no olives. Not a single olive in sight. In a restaurant with an olive tree, no less. The irony was almost poetic. Minor false advertising aside, the broccolini was also a bit more bitter than I personally enjoy. Now the pros (and there were many): The rest of the meal was exceptional--fresh, satisfying, and very authentically Italian. To start, we had fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The olive oil alone almost stole the show. It was incredibly fragrant, with that bright, crisp olive flavour that lingers on your palate like it was pressed five minutes ago. I may or may not have eaten more bread than dignity allows. For my main, I had the pasta special of the day: oxtail casarecce, and it was fantastic. The sauce was creamy and packed with umami. The oxtail was tender and chewy at the same time, somehow both hearty and melt-in-your-mouth. And the pasta itself was clearly fresh--springy, perfectly textured. Fresh pasta really does make all the difference. My coworker ordered the paccheri con zucchine e gamberetti, which I sampled strictly for research purposes. It was lighter and refreshing, with delicate zucchini that made the whole dish feel balanced and satisfying. My other colleague went with the daily secondi special: pesce alla griglia (sea bream). I also tried a bite of that, and it was excellent--crispy skin on the outside, tender and flaky inside, juicy and full of flavour. The only small drawback was that the sides were the exact same vegetables as the ones from our Vegetarian Board, so by round two my colleague was a little overwhelmed by the déjà-vu of vegetables. Then came dessert--easily everyone's favourite part of the night. Two of us ordered the tiramisu, and honestly, it might be one of the best I've had. When they serve it, they pour a freshly brewed shot of espresso over the top, which soaks into the layers and perfectly complements the mascarpone and cream underneath. It was ridiculously good. Our other coworker ordered the pistachio strawberry cake and absolutely demolished it in about two seconds flat, which I think is the highest possible dessert endorsement. Price-wise: this isn't a cheap casual spot, but it's very reasonable for a high-quality dinner. My pasta, dessert, and service came out to almost $70, which felt fair for the experience. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm, and overall we had a genuinely lovely dinner. Most importantly, bringing my coworkers here made me look like I actually know what I'm doing when recommending restaurants--which is always a win. Olives or not, I'd happily come back. And next time, I'm thinking date night.
