    Insalata alla siciliana

Great restaurant to dine at on a date or with family/ friends. It's hard to miss from the outside since the you can't peep through the windows from the outside. Upon arriving they take your jackets to hang at the front so that you're comfortably seated at your table. One of the factors that stood out to me, even until now is how hot the restaurant was. It was winter so I get that the heat was on and they have an open concept kitchen but it was HOT! A little uncomfortable with the heat but the food really made up for it. We can for a birthday celebration with a table of 4. The server was great and the food was even better. Here's what we had: Insalata Alla Siciliana 3/5 - It was a bit heavily dressed in oil. Great crunch and comes with some citrus on the top. Fennel has a heavy licorice flavour so make sure it's something you like before ordering. Fritto Misto 5/5 - This was such a great dish with a variety of different seafood that came fried, like calamari, shrimp, octopus, zucchini and carrots. YUM. So great for sharing and so delicious - a must get! Burrata Prosciutto platter 5/5 - Another great dish for sharing since it's on the larger side. Came with pieces of pita, prosciutto and burrata. So delicious and all ingredients paired so well with one another. Pizza Gucci 3.5/5 - This was recommended by our server, but kind of wish she recommended a red pizza instead. This tasted very similar to our burrata platter that already came with prosciutto, so this wasn't especially fantastic for us. Also didn't taste any truffle as it said on the menu. Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Agnello 5/5 - Deliciously saucey red ragu sauce pasta. This was so velvety and savoury to the palette. Another must get as it's so satisfying to slurp up your pasta. Branzino in Crosta Di Patate 3/5 - Think this lacked some salt/ flavour. It was quite bland even with their sauce on it. Probably wouldn't order it again. Tiramisu 5/5 - Very creamy and delicious. Great end to our meal and would get this again. Great for sharing. Graffe Fritte 5/5 - Fried donuts which were soft and pillowy. Overall it was such a great dining experience and the food was so good. Would definitely come back to try more things on their menu. But would get the fritto misto again for sure - a favourite of the night.

Was super excited to try this restaurant as I heard lots of good things. However, Food was mediocre unfortunately. We ordered the calamari, shrimp etc platter , pasta with funghi and Abruzzo pizza. All dishes lacked flavour and had little to no taste especially the funghi pasta and pizza. Service was good, our server was nice and attentive and explained the menu nicely.

My first time here and the food is delicious and the service is top notch! Each month is a new menu featuring dishes to highlight a specific region in Italy. This month for December, the menu is their top favourites throughout the year. They bring you fresh warm Ciabatta bread with their EVVO and Hot Chilli Oil. You get authentic Italian cuisine! I recommend you start off with insalata Alla Tretina a fresh Arugula, Spinach Salad with apples and dried berries in a light Vinaigrette. The Neapolitan style wood fired pizzas are a must... thin chewy crust with a blistered crust. The Calabrese is delicious with spicy n'duja, smoked provolone, Fior di Latte, fresh basil and EVVO. Ask for more chilli oil ... it's delicious drizzled over pizza. For pasta, we decided on the Parapadelle served in a flavourful boar ragu. The handcrafted pasta is perfect and cooked al dente. The sauce is beautiful and just the right amount. It's a Thursday night and it is packed! No surprise. Our server ANNA was friendly and attentive. She made sure we had clean set of cutlery after each course. Next time we will make room for dessert. We were so stuffed!! I highly recommend you put this list of restaurants to try!

5 stars to Marco the server who had so much enthusiasm and passion for his job - extremely attentive, friendly & helpful. Highly recommend the blu spaghetti & their linguine. The fried calamari is a pass - batter was not that great. Otherwise definitely give this authentic Italian place a try!

    Beef Carpaccio - 10/10

Our boss took us to this place for our office Xmas dinner. I generally don't go out for Italian since I can get authentic Italian food from my mom.. but damn it was pretty good. The restaurant is in a business complex which and you would totally miss it if you weren't looking for it. Inside is on the small side with not a lot of tables but the décor was nice with a big glass wine cellar as the focus. Interesting concept of for this restaurant is that each month it features some dishes from a particular region of Italy. When we went the Piedmont region of Northern Italy but we chose to order of the regular menu. We started off by sharing a few side dishes. The beef carpaccio, fruitti di mare and pizza with 1/2 red with spicy olive and 1/2 white with prosciutto and sausage. Not that I usually order it, but the beef carpaccio was the best I had. The beef was thinly sliced and seasoned very well, so tasty. The dish also had dollops of truffle cream and caviar on top. The truffle cream was so intense and played well with the thinly sliced beef .. 10/10. The Frutti di Mare, very good with nice size shrimp, calamari, and vegetable. Lightly battered and fried perfectly, not oily at all. The 1/2 and 1/2 pizza was made in a pizza oven was very good as well. The crust was thin and had a good chew like a good pizza should have. The topping were simple and straightforward. For the main I chose the the roasted pork belly with a wine reduction sauce. I liked it but didn't blow me away. It was crunchy but tender and the tangy sauce cut through the fat. It came with rappini and roasted potatoes. My only critique is that I noticed with all our mains (salmon, beef cheeks and branzino) it came with the same sides. Although the rappini and roasted potato were good, It seemed that the sides were a bit of an after thought. To finish off I had the pistachio cream with chocolate cookie crumble. I liked the pistachio cream, it was smooth and creamy and good pistachio taste but I kinda wished it didn't come with the chocolate cookie crumble. It kinda overpowered the cream, which was delicious. Overall, it was a great meal. Even better since I didn't have to pay! Lol I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to someone looking for a more upscale Italian resto.

Pretty authentic food for the price. Professional service and the food tastes pretty home made. Their core menu changes each month based on the local favourites of different parts Italy. You won't find this high quality of Italian food in the gta for the price. Book ahead.

Had such high expectations for this place. Massively Disappointed. Since this place regularly changes its menu based on a region in Italy we went to try the Calabrian theme. Apps: Calabrese Zeppele were decent but too dense. Suppli with meat were more like arancini, -ok Mains: The main attraction pasta dish of the month -- Ravioli stuffed with Nduja were billed as amazing. It was undercooked and way too filled with onion - I think all the Nduja May have oozed out during cooking and nowhere to be found. The pizza had good flavors. Toppings wise, but the dough - we all thought was like store bought pita bread. The veal entree and also the Gnocchi with red sauce were the best thing on the table. Although, nothing to rave about so I'll stop here. Funny thing. Seemingly a manager or owner who kept coming by hitting on a table filled with gregarious women was gracious enough to serve them with a nice round of complementary digestivo's to finish their meal. Stupendo! We probably spent double bill wise and were not even offered with a 'how was your meal'.

The takeout cardboard boxes do absolutely no justice to the look or taste of the food - I took the pictures before putting the food on our own dishes as the sauces are on the bottom. We ordered from the regular menu as the monthly menu online wasn't updated yet (Mar. 9? ... although they quickly updated after I placed my order). 1. The mushroom risotto was superb. The risotto was cooked to perfection, and although the pancetta was no longer crispy, the flavours blended nicely together. 2. The branzino, slightly soggy due to take out still had crispy parts. It wasn't overly salty (which I like actually), and the rosemary went so well with it. I would definitely recommend trying it at the restaurant. The carrot and potato puree gave it a bit of sweetness. I loved it! 3. The donuts, also slightly soggy due to take out, texture was light, and airy, and the sauce was heavenly!! None of the sogginess bothered me - that's how good the food was. Would definitely come back.

It would be a bit of a pain to get to by transit from Vaughan Metropolitan Centre though. Inside, it's spacious and open, with a massive wine rack right at the front. They also have two separate areas: the main dining room and a "next door" section that's basically its own room, which is nice if you want a slightly different vibe. Service: 3.5/5 They get busy (like "book days in advance" busy), so service can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes it took a while for our server to swing by, but food came out in a reasonable timeframe once we ordered. Definitely recommend reserving ahead. Food: 3.5/5 Big Italian menu with lots of pasta and pizza options, plus mains like chicken parm, lamb chops, and branzino. The wine and cocktail lists are extensive, which fits the whole "giant wine wall" aesthetic. The Caesar salad was honestly the standout, really well done. The starter bread was a miss for us: a bit stale and not warmed, like it had been sitting out for a while. Dessert, though, redeemed things. The dessert menu has a lot of variety, and the toffee dessert our server recommended was great, especially with the vanilla ice cream. Overall, solid spot with real highlights, but I'd love to see more consistency across the rest of the menu.

I had never been here before, so there was a brief hesitation since I thought this could either make me look like a foodie genius or a complete fraud. But then I saw photos of the beautiful olive tree in the dining room and thought, well... any restaurant confident enough to put a tree in the middle probably knows what it's doing. I was sold. The verdict? I'm glad I brought them--though there was one small caveat. The one con: We started with the Vegetarian Board. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked, but I have to call out a small disappointment: the menu clearly says "chef's selection of vegetables and olives." Reader, unfortunately...there were no olives. Not a single olive in sight. In a restaurant with an olive tree, no less. The irony was almost poetic. Minor false advertising aside, the broccolini was also a bit more bitter than I personally enjoy. Now the pros (and there were many): The rest of the meal was exceptional--fresh, satisfying, and very authentically Italian. To start, we had fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The olive oil alone almost stole the show. It was incredibly fragrant, with that bright, crisp olive flavour that lingers on your palate like it was pressed five minutes ago. I may or may not have eaten more bread than dignity allows. For my main, I had the pasta special of the day: oxtail casarecce, and it was fantastic. The sauce was creamy and packed with umami. The oxtail was tender and chewy at the same time, somehow both hearty and melt-in-your-mouth. And the pasta itself was clearly fresh--springy, perfectly textured. Fresh pasta really does make all the difference. My coworker ordered the paccheri con zucchine e gamberetti, which I sampled strictly for research purposes. It was lighter and refreshing, with delicate zucchini that made the whole dish feel balanced and satisfying. My other colleague went with the daily secondi special: pesce alla griglia (sea bream). I also tried a bite of that, and it was excellent--crispy skin on the outside, tender and flaky inside, juicy and full of flavour. The only small drawback was that the sides were the exact same vegetables as the ones from our Vegetarian Board, so by round two my colleague was a little overwhelmed by the déjà-vu of vegetables. Then came dessert--easily everyone's favourite part of the night. Two of us ordered the tiramisu, and honestly, it might be one of the best I've had. When they serve it, they pour a freshly brewed shot of espresso over the top, which soaks into the layers and perfectly complements the mascarpone and cream underneath. It was ridiculously good. Our other coworker ordered the pistachio strawberry cake and absolutely demolished it in about two seconds flat, which I think is the highest possible dessert endorsement. Price-wise: this isn't a cheap casual spot, but it's very reasonable for a high-quality dinner. My pasta, dessert, and service came out to almost $70, which felt fair for the experience. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm, and overall we had a genuinely lovely dinner. Most importantly, bringing my coworkers here made me look like I actually know what I'm doing when recommending restaurants--which is always a win. Olives or not, I'd happily come back. And next time, I'm thinking date night.
