Had a surprise party for my husband's birthday. The staff. Plus not have been more accommodating and helpful. Everything in the menu was fantastic especially the bread that came straight out of the oven. Isabella did a Fantastic job in Coordinating. We had ordered bruschetta, calamari, Caesar's salad, mista salad. The set menu came also with penne which was fantastic and the majority of the people had ordered steak which was cooked to perfection to everyone's liking. This Italian Restaurant in Brampton was tucked away in a very small plaza (we drove right by it)! Seating inside is limited, and service was slow. When looking at the menu, there was even a disclaimer about the wait time, as they note on the menu that "good food takes time to make". It's understandable that quality food takes time to prepare, but we felt that overall the service was super slow. Taking our order took a while, and evening bringing out bill took an unnecessary 25 minutes after they cleared our plates. The food was also mediocre at best. September 7/2023: Dinner with Tony/Heather/Red/Peggy & of course my Al. This was a super busy & very loud restaurant. The place was packed! The ambiance was good but they missed the mark with the "romantic" setting if that's what they were going for. The service was a team style service. Our primary server "Chris" I thought was mediocre & just didn't have the charisma that a good server should have in a restaurant like this. We had to ask multiple times for both bread & pepper. The food was very tasty. I started off with the Calamari ($16.00). It was tasty but not overly so. It came accented with a red pepper style dip that didn't match the seafood taste. In my opinion it should have been a seafood sauce or tartar sauce. My main was the "Fettuccine with a Twist" ($32.00). The "twist" was 3x shrimp, chicken & peppers. It was a small portion & the pasta was very al-dente but I liked it like that. The rose sauce that was with the fettuccine was superb. I had the tiramisu ($10.00) for dessert. It was VERY mediocre & and very small portion as well (see pic). All in all this isn't a do-over for me. Too high priced with an auto tip of 20% which is why the service was what it was. Very Disappointed! The food was just ok ,tomato sauce completely tasteless , probably watered down too much. Very expensive for this price you hope to get excellent food and the service! Service horrible !!! there was no one to meet us or greed us ??? You can see them on their cell phones messaging and scrolling but not working . After long wait we got the hot buns without the butter ?? when we ask for it we were waiting few min, then I asked for salt that never arrived to the table . The most upsetting part was when they served the pasta beside the fact it was tasteless we all kept asking for a parmesan cheese and no one was coming back with that . Finally my daughter went to the kitchen and came back saying they just grinding it now ! She went back again and brought that cheese to the table by now our pasta was cold. There is absolutely not enough washrooms and they are dirty!!! Train your staff please that the butter should be brought to the table before buns or at least together and same with cheese. Owners please take away the cell phones from your employees before they enter the work place so maybe they will put their mind into their work . We will never go back there !!!! read more

We had our company Christmas party this week. We had pre booked several weeks in advance and requested a private room with a prix fix menu for 18 people. When we arrived, the table was not ready... no issue as I was there 10 minutes early to ensure all was ready for our team. When taken to the table it was two separate tables in the main dining room. This was not the separate dining room that we had requested and was confirmed with our deposit. I indicated that was not going to work. The group in the private area was getting ready to check out so they said if we waited, they would set that area up. No apologies and actually felt very much like an inconvenience. Our group of 18 crowded in the entrance until our tables were ready. To be fair, the food was good, but the service was not what was expected. I refilled the wine for our group and cutlery had to be requested and waited for. We had people go to the front to ask for it and by dessert, gave up on forks and just used the spoons that were on the table. No refills on coffee or water. The issue we had a hard time getting past was the cockroach on the wall by the table. I called the young girl folding napkins on a table in our room ?? and she caught it in the napkin... no idea where it went from there. (or if the napkin was folded for the next guest which we suspect) When our server came back with the bill the second time after adjusting for the deposit that we paid in advance, we asked him if he was aware of the cockroach. He said he would look into it...... No sorry, no acknowledgement of the issue. He actually said, "I hope no one brought it into the restaurant in their purse." WOW I have never written a review like this and in fact we had a similar issue with a dirty wine glass (Red wine residue in bottom of a glass of white wine) and a bug at this restaurant during COVID. As it had been a restaurant we had enjoyed in the past, we wrote only a note to management and not a public review as we didn't want to cause more issues to a small business already struggling during COVID. We had no response and did not plan to go back. We totally regret that we did go back, and this was definitely the last time. We do Christmas dinners for our team every year for the past 20+ years, this was the most disappointing experience by far. read more

I would love to give this restaurant zero stars if I could. The worst customer service at the front door. We had a reservation for 7:30pm for a party of four. We were at the restaurant at 7:30pm. We were told that it would be ten minutes and our table would be ready. Then they had called us up and we thought we would be seated, but then we were told another 10 minutes. So at this point we were waiting 20 minutes. The lobby was full of people and they were being seated, and people without reservations, I realize most of them were couples being seated before us. The woman at the front then told us that they were getting our table ready, We waited. We asked again and we were told it was another ten minutes, at this point we are angry because if the table is going to take 40 minutes or more then be HONEST. I understand a four top table takes a while to turn over but be honest. The woman told us her boss spoke to us and she said it rudely, I may add. No she did not. Her "boss" actually told her oh ten minutes, not us. After an hour of waiting my friends and I ending up leaving. As we were not even sure this table was even ready. If that was the treatment at the front door, how long would it take for the food to be ready? Absolutely terrible. Never going back. read more

One of the few actual restaurants in the entire town not serving sandwiches and pizza, so that on it's own gives it a star. On top of that, the food itself was actually very good (the chef knows what he's doing). There are two main issues holding it back. The first is the price. At 15-20 euros (maybe I was given the tourist menu?), the food is a bit overpriced considering the amount of seafood in the food. The pasta is great, but it's not overflowing with protein. The second is the service is questionable. It was ten-fifteen minutes into the meal before we were offered anything for the meal (cheese and pepper would be nice with pasta). Also, for the final check, we were both charged coperto (seating), and subsequently shortchanged 3 euros off of the final bill on top of that. Could I have raised a stink over that and gotten it back? Probably. Instead, I'll eat the 6 euros so I can tell you publicly, so you can factor the price into your meal. If you live in this town (why are you reading english yelp reviews lmao), this is probably no risk. If you're from out of town...get all of the charges up front. To the owner, put your coperto on the menu and make sure customers are getting all of their change. read more

Everything about this place was excellent. All of our dishes were delicious and full of flavour. I'm not usually a pasta person but it was all incredible. Bruschetta and fried calamari are worth doing for appetizers. The pasta dishes were great. Our chicken and shrimp linguini came with a decent amount of meat. Not just majority pasta. Take a good look at the specials on the chalk board. Our waiter didn't make note of them but they were unique options compared to what was on the menu. You can see the kitchen as you walk in which is nice to see they are not hiding anything. Staff was really attentive to our progress but we never felt pressured or rushed. Waiters didn't chat much, which could be a drawback for some people. But they were neither overly or underly friendly. We didn't mind it, the whole dinner experience was seamless, they were attentive to our needs without being in our faces. If you like Creme brûlée, try theirs. We all showed up slightly late due to the snow but within 15 mins of our reservations. what i didnt like was the attitude we got from the host when only 2/4 were there right on time; but we still requested to be seated so we were not waiting by the door. I had the penne a la vodka and asked to have chicken and mushrooms added to the dish and while i can appreciate that not everything is customization the server actually said 'that is an insult to the chef' so i asked if any pasta on the menu had both chicken and mushroom and she said no, to which then proceed to say "looks like we have no choice but to make an exception for you. I had been here several times before, and found it to be an excellent restaurant in every way. But that was a few years ago. Totally different restaurant today. Portions were small...including the hair, and eye lash found in the food. Prices were large, but they comp'd a few items. Still, with tip, dinner for two came to $170. Reservation at this place are not final. We booked reservations at this restaurant 3 weeks ago for my daughters birthday on Sunday May 1st, 2022 and were called 3 days prior the reservation telling us they are cancelling the reservation because the have a larger party coming in. We proceeded to try to rebook for a different time and they were rude and hung up on us. This is absolutely unacceptable customer service for a family owned establishment. Not worth the high price or the long parking lot wait. A friend actually recommended this place as he had dined-in the restaurant many times previously (pre-COVID) . We ordered takeout - two orders of gnocchi. We were able to select the pick-up time online and were then provided with a 10 minute window to pick up the order. When we arrived on time we were told to wait in the parking lot because it will "take a few minutes". 45 minutes later we received the two smallest dinner portions you have ever seen. And they had the nerve to charge a tip on top of it all for the luxury of picking up our own order and sitting in the parking lot for that amount of time. 2 stars because the food was okay but not much else. Absolute Rip-off. Yes sometimes you get smaller portions for better quality but 4 TBSPs of food is not a dinner serving. read more

What a lovely experience so close to home. I brought my mother here for her birthday yesterday and from the service to the food everything was great. We didn't come in with the highest expectations just because this restaurant is about a minute away from our house and we have had no luck finding a nice quiet restaurant in our neighbourhood. UNTIL NOW. Walking in we did have to wait a good 3 minutes before we were acknowledged so that wasn't the best first impression but granted they were pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Our waiter was wonderful. I want to say he called himself big Jack but I can't be too sure (Bad memory- sorry). He let us sample a red wine before committing to buying a bottle which was really nice and was really good with presenting the specials. This restaurant has their daily features written on a chalk board in the restaurant. Pretty unique for a restaurant like this. I went with the sirloin steak (feature) and my mom had the stuffed ravioli (not on the menu).. Both of our dishes were great and left us extremely stuffed. At the end of our meal our waiter even brought my mom a complimentary slice of their homemade cheesecake for her birthday. He sang happy birthday also which was very sweet and not expected at all. Our waiter really went out of his way to make our experience pleasurable and I'm so happy my mom and I decided to come here as we have a new spot when we're craving Italian close to home. read more

The eggplant parmesan was soooo tasty you can substitute the side for any pasta, I chose the penne with garlic, olive oil and chili flakes it did not disappoint. The portions are HUGE!!! K so we just finished having dinner here and I knew I had to write a review ASAP before I got lazy. Being pregnant, I have these random cravings and today I knew I HAD to eat spaghetti bolognese. I came across antica osteria after looking at what was close by me. Came here for a date night with my husband at 9:00pm on a Saturday. The location is in a random plaza in Brampton -- hard to notice. But once you're inside it's actually nice and cozy. We got seated and was served by Angela-- she's the daughter of the family owned business. Everything looked sooooo good on the menu and my husband and I had difficulty choosing (we wanted everything). I couldn't decide on one pasta so Angela said I could choose two as part of my dish. I was set!!! We started with a Caesar salad and they split the portion for us. I liked their salad- nice, light and crisp. Then came my pastas. Oooomg. So happy to finally have my cravings satisfied. The portions were HUGE. I barely even made a dent. I got the half bolognese pasta and half fettuccine with chicken and shrimp. My husband got the chicken parm with a side ricotta ravioli with rose vodka sauce. We also ordered the profiteroles for dessert (and we never order dessert!) and that was also good. I would have given zero stars, but that option is not there. Zero stars, all because of their greater being the rudest person. A friend of my wife's recommended this place, as he knew she loves Italian food. Well, we never got to taste the food, so this review is not about their food but about their service and treatment of their patrons. Yesterday, I called the restaurant to see if I need to make reservations and I got their voicemail, I left a VM to call me and see if I can get a reservation for 7 pm for two people. No one called us, and we decided to go anyway. When we got there, the greater, a young lady, very polite at the time, said that she can get us a table, but it will take 15 minutes. She suggested we come back in 15 in minutes, we agreed and came and sat in out car. After 15 minutes we went in, and she said that the table is still not ready as the guests are having desserts. I was ok with that too. She then continued and said that they are reservation only restaurant. That's when I told her that I called, and no one picked up and I even left a VM and no one called be back. Upon which she replied that it's her cell phone that receives the calls and she does not have voicemail, so I could not have called. (Basically, accusing me of lying, number one). I pulled my phone out to show her and double check if the number I dialed was in fact the restaurant's number. She looked at the number in my call history and said yes that's our number, but I have no voicemail. Upon which I insisted that I did leave a message and she then insisted that I did not leave a VM as she does not have a voicemail system. To me, that accusing me of lying number 2. I then asked that since I did call how come no one called me back, she then tells us that we have the option to wait is we want to. In other words take the option to wait or leave, we left. I would never spend a penny in any establishment that has that kind of greeters, accusing or implying that your guest is lying is not ok in any way. I don't know the actual owners/management, but the greeter to me is the representation of them. Please don't waste your money on this establishment. I would never go there and will never recommend this place to any of my friends, in fact I will convince them to go somewhere else. read more

I brought a large group of family members here, 8 ppl to be exact and made reservations a day or two in advance. This restaurant is in the back of a plaza and but hard to locate- but once you step inside the ambiance is great! It's loud and buzzing with families and staff running around with food and drinks- everyone in great spirits! The food was tasty and amazing- the best dish ordered was the lamb dish. My husband was looking forward to the cheese wheel pasta dish- however he seemed a bit down as it neither tasted like anything and the he neither saw the cheese wheel. Never the less the staff were super accommodating and socialized well with out family, they offered drinks to help ease the 1+ hour wait we endured even with reservations. I would definitely return here with my husband- who knew an amazing food and ambiance was right around the corner? Me and my fiance are regulars at Antica Osteria. We discovered it a couple of years ago and its become our go to place in Brampton. It is a little pricey, but the food quality is top notch. Whenever we go we always order the beef carpaccio and the Arugala salad. The honey glazed pear slices are simply a delight. In terms of our mains, the pasta in a cheese wheel is a very cool experience. I am also a big fan of the mushroom risotto with a side of grilled chicken. Unlike the other reviewers, I have always had great service. However do not expect things to be out immediately. This is not a fast food joint and good food does take time to prepare.
