March 21, 2026: Dinner with my Al & Tony/Heather/Peggy…read more This was a terrific meal but not superb. We actually recognized our server who used to serve at another restaurant we frequent. She's a nice person. The food was between good & very good. The appetizer was fried calamari ($18.99). In this version there was actually calamari in the order. I found it was WAY too salty & a small order but tasty nonetheless. I also had a Caesar salad ($13.00) small order and not overly tasty. My main was the Rosanna Farfalle ($29.00). This was a very tasty dish but the top portion of the order was just lukewarm and the bottom portion was hot. Meaning the order sat for a bit before coming to the table. Still...a very tasty dish. We finished with a rather small portion of Tiramisu ($12.00). This was billed as very tasty. Having had tiramisu around the world & in Italy...this tiramisu was mediocre. With the food, service & ambiance, this place could easily be a 5 star. They just need to step up the food temp & the portion size & it would be there.

We shared a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile and an app. I appreciate it that we were able to enjoy the company amongst each other and not be bothered or pressured with having to split our attention with the server. This restaurant is a little dated however, the food definitely makes up for the quality. I'd recommend nicer seating because I did get tired 30 minutes in as the chairs weren't as comfortable.

If you crave for an authentic taste of Tuscany without flying there, this ristorante is for you!…read moreThey pamper you with the most delicious Italian food you can imagine, the experience you will never forget. Think of getting the white glove service just like the museum.

Meh and expensive…read more Alioli might be the best Italian restaurant on the city, but that doesn't mean it's particularly good. Had the Fittura Mista which is deep fried seafood. I don't like the cornbread breading although my mom did. Dip was good through. Also had the focaccia which we were tricked into getting by the waiter. After we put in our orders he asked if we wanted focaccia, implying that it was complimentary. While it was good I felt misled as we wouldn't have ordered it if we knew it wasn't free. There are better things to get. There was a special monkfish wrapped with bacon. Overcooked and small. Vegetables that came with it was nice Mushroom risotto here is much celebrated so we had to try. This tells me the people who eat here don't get out too often. It tastes ok but clearly tasted like truffle flavour was all from a bottle they poured onto it in the end. The truffle taste felt like it was on top of the dish instead of incorporated into the dish. Overall meh. It these guys have the audacity to charge downtown toronto prices. It's not that good. Service was mediocre. Got an Italian man who looked like he was there for awhile. Said the right things but was absent most of the time. Gave me a chipped plate and instead of replacing it he said he noticed the chip too. Well that makes you look worse dude. Had leftovers and they boxed it for us. Later found out they put our fried appetizer with the wet seafood. That kills the crisp and is pretty stupid to be honest.
