I'll start by saying the food and service was very good. The restaurant itself could use a refresh of the floors and walls. It's not bad but given the cost of our meal for 4, I would expect a nicer looking interior. I chose the restaurant based on the menus I saw on Yelp. Unfortunately, they were out of date - both the selection and the prices. (I've uploaded new ones). We had a Caesar salad, mixed salad, and garlic bread (no cheese). The taste was great but the salad portion, for the cost, was too small. For the mains, we got a Pasta al LaCampagna, 2 Pollo alla Fiorentina and a Pollo alla Griglia. All the dishes were tasty. The chicken breasts were, perhaps, a little on the smaller side. Last was desserts. We got a tiramisu and tried to get gelato. We ordered a hazelnut gelato and strawberry gelato. The waiter brought us the tiramisu and the strawberry gelato and apologized, saying that the hazelnut gelato was freezer burnt. So, we asked for the chocolate gelato. And that too, was also freezer burnt. So, we ended up with just the two desserts. The lattes were tasty and good. So, it was a good experience and I would return. Just know, that this is not a fancy restaurant, but it comes at a fairly high price. read more

We had the good fortune of having La Campagna Italian Eatery walking distance from our hotel in Vaughan, Ontario. While it wasn't a large house, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the service folks simply exceptional. We were shown to our table by Franco, wearing a black full head cap and long striped apron. He could have been the owner or the chef, but turned out to be the sous-chef, maitre D', and entertainment for the night. He helped us select our dinners with vibrant descriptions and assurances we would be very happy with our choices. I liked the look of the chicken parmigiano, while my beautiful companion was in the mood for steak. We started with two Molsons and a basket of garlic bread. Good choices to get the hearthfires burning. When the entrees arrived, they were on large plates, with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables underneath the large portions of chicken and beef. The parmigiana was a large breast, grilled in a cast iron pan with extra virgin olive oil, before finishing in the oven to melt the cheese and crisp the exposed edges. Excellent. The steak, although not otherwise identified, looked to be an oval cut sirloin. It was two inches thick, and grilled directly on the hot steel to start, and then transferred to a cast iron skillet for finishing to a perfect medium rare. It was tender and juicy - surprisingly good. The taters and veggies were ample and played well with their meaty partners. Toward the end of our meal we were introduced to Luciano, the owner of the establishment and head chef. He was working alongside Franco in the open kitchen, so it was easy to watch them work and interact. They were a great team. Luciano made all the moves in flipping the chicken and steak in the skillet, and also showed a master's touch in preparing sauces and flash boiling pasta just in time for the meal to be served. Franco was also adept at the details of pulling the elements together and serving with a flourish. Definitely a strong showing by La Campagna! read more

Found this place on Yelp, and were looking forward to trying it. To be honest, I was a little concerned when we walked in because it's so under-stated...but voila.., a new favorite for us in Vaughan. Ordered fucilli paste with meatballs and boulanaese (sp). The Caesar salad is really very delicious as is the garlic bread. The past was just wow. Really reminds me of a home cooked meal. I have been in to eat here and ordered off uber eats, and never once have I been disappointed. Dining in is very casual, but service is attentive and genuinely kind and friendly. I ordered the chicken parmigiana with penne a la vodka and my boyfriend ordered the veal parm with fettuccine alfredo. I am absolutely blown away by their chicken/beef parm. I haven't had one this good in years!! This is always our default order for uber eats as well, and if you're debating ordering from here believe me you won't be disappointed! Went to La Campagna today with my family which included my parents who are originally from Italy. Eating at any Italian restaurant can be tricky since my mom's food is as authentic as it gets. We had no idea what to expect other then reading positive reviews on yelp. I am happy to say the experience was fantastic. This is a family run business with the most friendly service and real home cooked Italian food. The restaurant is very casual. We had as shared appetizer the Bruschetta, calamari and Greek salad and garlic bread. For entres we had seafood pasta, mussels, steak and veal with pasta. The portions were good and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were all surprised at how reasonable our bill was. All around very positive experience. My parents we very happy and we all look forward to going back. Definitely a gem to be discovered. read more

My last review of La Campagna was in April 2014, making it a full year since I was last at the restaurant. I just want to note, that although I haven't been in a year, the staff recognized me and remembered me. The young lady remembered that I don't like bread with my meal, and the owner offered me a coffee and thanked me for coming back. WOW, I am impressed. My position on their food remains unchanged - it's delicious! I really think this is the best "fast food" money can buy, because I know everything is made fresh, in house and with love. We were on a shopping expedition and one of us was having hunger pangs. As it was about 4 in in the afternoon, this place was empty when we stopped. It is a modest, counter set-up type eatery which evidently features a hot table at lunchtime as well. Service was not fast, but there was only one person working and she had a lot to do with both minding the counter and cooking, so we have no complaints in that regard - she was very friendly. But I must say, the meatball sandwich was one of the best I have had in many years and the chicken cutlet ordered by someone else in our party was fresh, tasty and delicious. On top of which I am not quite sure where they got their espresso maker, but it turns out excellent first-rate cappuccino. If you are shopping in the Vaughan area or work there, this is a highly recommended place for lunch, a snack, or a modestly priced quick dinner. read more

How good is this place? We come to Canada once or twice per year for hockey and always make it a priority to eat here. Why? Amazing service. The two gentlemen often take your order. Super friendly and attentive. And they even remember us despite not seeing us often. The food portions are generous and delicious. It all is super hot and so tasty. I'm tastes incredibly fresh. The prices are very reasonable...some might argue too low! Shhhh! Some of our favorites...garlic bread, Cesar salad (best we have ever had), chicken parmesan, fettuccine Alfredo, penne Bolognese, and vokda penne. After living in a dozen cities and travelling extensively...we can say this is our favorite italian food anywhere! read more

Amazing food, portions on pasta were perfect, noodles cooked perfect, and meat just as well. Bread could have been warm with my meal but the pasta alone was delicious. Although the pasta was great. My friend and I were the only ones in the restaurant and it still took about half hour for meal, then when we ordered bruschetta the wait was the same, my friend, being smaller then me, was still hungry. Being the only people there you would think service would be nothing but great. We received little or no attention that lead to empty beers for too long, haha. The attitude from the sever was disgusting, and after all that, she tried to rip me off on pasta and sausage when I wanted Alfredo instead of tomato sauce. Yes they are different ingredients, but to need to charge extra for a switch (restaurant is empty by the way), is unacceptable! Overall score 5.0/10, food, perfect absolutely perfect. However, this cozy family run Italian restaurant had super friendly service and amazing food! Who better to cook Italian food than Italian people? My friend ordered the chicken salad and I ordered the spaghetti & meatballs. Portion sizes are huge! Food is fresh. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Pasta was cooked perfectly, meatballs and sauce were nicely flavoured. Served with a basket of soft, fluffy garlic bread. We conversed with the owner/chef and he is so nice and humble trying to make a decent living and making great food doing so! It's not well known (yet), but to be fair they are a recent establishment. We ordered calamari and pasta with meat sauce. Both were very tasty and just enough portion-wise. Lunch here was an unexpected highlight of our Toronto trip. My wife and I both had chicken Caesar and we both thought it was the best chicken Caesar we have ever had.
