March 9/2025: It took me 5 years to come back to this spot after a terrible last experience. It was a Sunday so the service was fairly quick. It was also a 2:1 Special nite that's why we went. Otherwise, I doubt that we'd go to this place. Has a very limited menu. Delivered our drinks & our Caprese Salad ($21.95) fairly quickly. Good salad but small, 4 slices of tomato & mozzarella. Not great value. My main was the Pizza Alla Diavola ($25.95) took considerably longer than it should have considering the place was mostly empty. Pizza tasted good but it lacked size & was VERY light on the toppings. My wife had the Chicken Masalla. It tasted fantastic but it was $29.00. Unless I'm cornered, I really doubt I'd come back to this spot again. read more

Recently visited this great place in theheart of downtown. Maurizio helped us decide what we should order and the was really friendly (as were the rest of the staff). We were at this restaurant my friend had tried this place out and had liked the food So here we were as it was full however no wait We got a patio table as we had requested for it The service was not too good The server didn't bring in nor offer us the breads We ordered a bruschetta and a capresse salad with some wine and Corona beer Bruschetta was disappointing with just 2 pieces of the bruschetta and rest all grilled veggies The caprese salad was excellent After the appetizers we requested for the bread which came without the dip Since my friend knew about the hot spicy dipping sauce she asked for it Really you have to ask for everything nothing comes as a part of the service For mains we ordered Fusilli with pesto and Gnocchi in creamy sauce The fusilli and gnocchi were fine not very good Would like to go there again to try some more stuff from their interesting menu read more

Very nice Italian restaurant perfectly located with great views of the local Brampton park downtown. Service was terrific and food was spectacular. We loved the lasagna, the spaghetti and meatballs in bolognese sauce, and the salads. Great flavors and perfectly prepared. I'm quite surprised that this place doesn't have more reviews as it's quite literally the oldest restaurant in Brampton (1963). However, it may not feel that way inside since the entire interior is virtually brand-new. This is due to the fact that a watermain broke on George St in 2016 and flooded the place. They took about a year to repair and completely renovate the restaurant. They did an excellent job, and the other aspect I appreciate about their ambience is that they're located right at the corner of George and Wellington streets. There aren't too many places in Brampton you can say has charm, but this spot overlooking Gage park is one of them and makes for a great patio in fair weather. I'm a little surprised other reviewers say it's overpriced. To me, it's par for the course for somewhat higher-end Italian (and nowhere near the price of something high-end in Toronto). Most mains start at the high teens (pizza and some pasta dishes) and then into the $20's for most other items. There's probably 3-4 items at most which start over $30. I'm also unsure why it's presently classified as '$$$$' for price on Yelp. I suppose you could pay over $60/person, but I wouldn't say that's an average or unavoidable. The menu is online and can confirm this. My wife and I enjoyed the Giuseppe salad to start. It's great if you're into sweeter salads as it had figs, pears, apricot and with a berry vinaigrette. The goat cheese was a natural pairing. I ordered the Vitello Piccata - which is veal is a seasoned lemon-based sauce. I opted for pasta as my side with an olive oil base. You're given a choice of for sides and pasta almost any way you want it. Note: veal features VERY prominently on the menu here. I think I saw it on the menu in about a dozen different ways. My wife ordered Vitello Vesuvio - but asked for chicken instead of veal (they're very comfortable with requests and adjustments). The chicken was stuffed with ham and cheese and served with a mushroom sauce. She chose to go with Gnocci in an alfredo sauce. All in all, we came in expecting a good meal and got one. I don't think there was anything about it that may have knocked us off our feet, and the menu is fairly traditional - but it met fairly high expectations. They also ensure there's vibrant flavour as I experienced in my meal with the salad and that the lemon sauce wasn't afraid to have that tartness in lemon that I love. I still need to try their pizza as they're one of the few local places with a wood-burning oven. read more

Delicious and classy :) . Firstly, the staff was so lovely! Everyone was smiling, attentive, and overall happy, which was really nice to see! It gave the restaurant a really positive vibe. Also, the restaurant itself was gorgeous, in my opinion. NOW, the fooood! Oooohhhh, it made me so happy! Caprese salad was so well balanced and flavourful; everything tasted fresh. All of our apps were yummy! But the star of our appetizers, in my opinion, was definitely the caprese salad! So simple and delicious! Both the Osso Bucco and the salmon were melt-in-your-mouth fantastic! Every bite was genuinely perfect, which was surprising to me, because usually, salmon ends up unevenly cooked because of its shape and thickness. But yes, truly amazing! The gnocchi was perfectly creamy and balanced with gorgonzola cheese, best I've ever had :) . And I fell in love with their pizza at first bite :) . And lastly, of course, dessert was fantasticcc! If it weren't for the service, I probably would've given this 2 stars. Our server was very friendly and she was also very accommodating. My friend can't eat eggs, so she made sure that everything, including the bread served as an appetizer was egg-less. I ordered the spaghetti and my friend ordered a pizza. With the higher than average prices, we expected something... more, to say the least. My meal was bland which I normally wouldn't mind, but the pasta itself was also overcooked. All in all, my meal wasn't very enjoyable. I wasn't full, but I couldn't will myself to finish it either. My friend said her pizza was "okay". Overall, I was a bit disappointed with my experience here. Definitely expected more since it was recommended by a co-worker. Safe to say that I would not be recommending this to anyone. read more

Had the gnocchi with pomodoro and basilica (as I learned Italian for tomato and basil) sauce for lunch. First time I'd had gnocchi that wasn't in a bag from the supermarket. It was really good. I've been here a couple of times before. Once for a 50th birthday bash and another time for lunch. It doesn't seem to matter what I've ordered, all of the food's been great. Maurizio is a great host, and he's got a very interesting chef behind the front counter...an Egyptian that speaks fluent Italian and speaks English with an Italian accent. It's a very friendly restaurant, with a beautiful interior in the heart of downtown Brampton. Perfect in the winter. Have your supper here, and then go skating in Victoria Park on the donut rink. My wife and I went in for or anniversary dinner on Tuesday night. The restaurant was busy with large tables in the main dining room and a big group in the side section. Staff was understandably busy however they found lots of time to make sure everything was to our liking, regardless of whether or not they were our server. They really do care, including (who i believe to be) the owner asking if we were ok with or table being near some loud children, and the most outstanding thing was our server chasing us down 10-15 minutes later in Gage Park when she found my wife's purse mistakenly left behind in the restaurant. I didn't even touch on the food which was outstanding. Portions were filling, taste was outstanding, but I can't stress enough how much these people care about their guests. Pasta was very delicious, full of wonderful flavours and their salmon special was very good, portions weren't As big but still good. Only concern was the hardness of the crusted chicken it was mostly dough not chicken and for the special it was way more expsenisve then anything in the menu. Good prices otherwise, white wine was great. Service was alright but very knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere was very lovely too. Great location and lovely set up. We have been visiting Vesuvios for 30 years, that is 4 generations of our family who have enjoyed Vesuvio's. Over that time, we have never been disappointed with the quality of the food or the service. They have traditional Italian cuisine prepared fresh and to perfection. I went out to lunch and trying to seek 1 good Italian restaurant in Brampton, unfortunately it was not a sucess, this restaurant should have had a visit from Ramsey's Kitchen Nghtmares, the set of this place is off. First I think a remodelling job is needed, the service is slow and poor. The waiter "uncle Fester" did not even ask if we want drinks, served us tap water and we had to ask. I told him i have never been there before to make a suggestion, he pushed the veal to every body, I guess thats what the cook had prepared, mind you he didn't answer my question clearly. The salads came out pretty fast but the entree took forever. I often use Yelp, but have never written a review. This evening my wife and three year old son went to Veseuvo and had a fabulous meal. It was so good that we even exchanged two high fives and could not believe our good fortune - seriously! We are from Vancouver and staying with in laws. The service from Maria was top shelf and the food was excellent. You could taste the fresh basil in the sauce and the acidity level was perfect. The wood oven pizza was also fantastic and I am looking forward to eating the last slice after the family goes to bed. It was not sloppy nor was it too crisp- that sweet spot that you want. Prior to writing the review, I was shocked to see the two poor reviews that were posted as they could not have been further from our experience. Went here last night. Food was good but is far too overpriced for the type of restaurant. Service was limited to a few quick interactions to take orders and bring the cheque. Just saw on the news this morning that a broken watermain flooded the place. While I'll abstain from any "fresh seafood" comments they should definitely take the opportunity to update the place. I would only go back if someone else was paying as there are many better options for the cost. read more

I was really disappointed with the food at this restaurant. For some reason the head chef thinks it's a good idea to send two tiny loaves of homemade bread to the table with a pepper sauce that will literally numb your mouth for a half hour. Not a good start to dinner. I then had the veal chop which was a special. They managed to burn the outside when charring it so although it was medium on the inside I tasted the bitterness of the burnt chop in every bite. The brandy mushroom sauce could not conceal that. I ordered the tiramisu for dessert and was mystified when it tasted like garlic. I thought I was losing my mind so my husband tried it and he too tasted the garlic. I can only assume someone used some garlic powder near it and it got onto my tiramisu. Not impressed! The only plus to my dinner was the waitress who was a lovely and pleasant person and the view of the Christmas lights at City Hall. read more

This place is amazing! I went here because of the great reviews and I am glad we went here. It is just a small restaurant nestled in old Brampton and its easy to just drive passed it if you aren't looking for it. The lightning is intimate and great for a romantic dinner with your significant other. There are separate rooms and in the other room there was a small party with a singer. It was loud at first but it grew on us, the singer was AMAZING. We never have experienced something like this before. The singer gave you goosebumps when he reached those high notes. On top of the great singing was the food, I had a pasta and my fiancée had a margherita pizza. Both were very good! I also recommend trying the tartufo, such a tasty dessert! The manager seemed upset that we were there and made our experience uncomfortable and made us feel unwelcome along with the (maybe) 2 other tables that were dining. First time in this lovely restaurant! Walk in after the Christmas parade, it was full, a gentlemen at the door managed to get me and my husband a table. A lovely waitress served us she was very professional and friendly...we got our appetizer in 15 minutes!! Wow that was impressive consider how packed they were! It was delicious I had the caprese salad and my husband the mussels in a white wine mmmmmmh..then after 45/50 minutes she served our main course, I have ordered the salmon special it was cooked perfectly and the Dijon and Maple syrup sauce was to die for, my husband has ordered the T-boned steak and he said that it was the BEST steak he has ever had in his life! We did not have time for dessert..but we will definatley go back before Christmas with my brother, his wife and his children for another GREAT dinner. Can't wait! Excellent job to all the staff! We discovered this restaurant completely by accident while visiting family in Brampton and we love it! We have been three times, and each time the food was fabulous, and despite being very busy the service was fast, friendly and professional. We live in Toronto and have our pick of restaurants of every cuisine and price range imaginable, but we look forward to eating here again on special occasions. It's a gem! read more

I completely disagree with the previous post. I went here for a baptism and the food was so great I returned with my husband for a second visit. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the cute little places you would find driving the italian coast and it was refreshing to not have to eat in another big box manufactured restaurant the everyone flocks to. The worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. Our server split her time in being either inattentive or condescending. She acted as if it was a huge issue to split our bills, when it clearly took very little effort to do so, and seemed far more interested in dealing with the 2 other tables that she had.
