Harleen did an amazing job when short-staffed, and the food was delicious. A nice little spot to stop sans wait for a flight.

Tapas Lounge & Wine Bar - Very small penne for $14!

When I called to make a reservation for an early dinner at 6 p.m., I was Told they could "fit us in". The person on the other line wanted to know if we were staying for the night since she had other guests coming in at 8. We were dining with kids so I said that 2 hours for dinner would be enough. When we arrived in this industrial looking space, we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Most of the tables are low - lounge like. The few tables that are high with bar stool type chairs are all near the door and not in an ideal location. The bar dominates most of the room and there was a drum set in another part of the main floor suggesting that there would be live music later. We sat in a booth with a low table. The waitress, Susan, was very nice but she could not overcome the incompetence of the kitchen staff. The lemon drop martini had no lemon taste. The calamari appetizer was ok but too chewy for me. The chicken wings my son ordered were good. The bruchetta was nothing special. The worst part of the meal was waiting for our entrees - we waited over an hour between the time we finished our appetizers and the time the entrees arrived. The bacon wrapped tenderloin, when it did arrive, was tasty but tiny - four our of five of us ordered this entree and they were all small. My daughter ordered off of the main menu - the penne in rose sauce and the portion for $14 was tiny. I will post a picture. My apple crumble was the kind that you can buy at Costco - definitely not homemade. Mine was burnt. My son's dessert dd not arrive together with the rest of ours. The lemon sorbet was served in a real lemon and was tasty. The desserts all looked like they were store-bought. I will never come back to this restaurant. Our experience was most disappointing.

Those visits, always were good with the food and service being up to par and expectations for a restaurant of this nature. With that in mind I arranged our office's Christmas dinner this year, for our group of 20 people. It was a bit of a disappointment and the ironic thing is it had nothing to do with the food. It was the overall experience of the event being managed, right from the interactions and email responses to the evening of. Again, I should emphasize the food was excellent. Nada was our host and she did an amazing job though we could tell she was very busy as she was looking after multiple tables and big Christmas groups. The people at the host stand and the bar tenderer seemed to be having an off day that evening and their responses/ reactions and overall demeanour were not welcoming or nice. The owner, was helpful at the beginning of my interactions when finalizing the restaurant and menu but her responses tailed of later and there was no follow up after the event. Had some issues at the end with the restaurant not being part of the HST rebate program and also charging 20% gratuity after HST ( instead of before it). I would have to take that up separately with the establishment.

FiAMMA is a great crowd pleaser - balance of high end ambiance, quality food, and good service…read more I came for an informal business lunch. A few of my team members were welcomed as regulars, like family. There were diverse dietary needs in my group (vegetarian, gluten free, to more meat is better) and the staff patently helped us navigate options. Among the most memberable items were a shared diavola pizza, caprese di bufala, and ravioli al formaggio. The ingredients were fresh and satisfying, and flavours were rich and varied. Portion sizes are a little small for the price, at least for pasta dishes. You're paying for ambiance more than fresh pasta. All in all, good service, atmosphere, and food, a little high-priced.

I needed some lunch so I headed down to the Queensway because I had spotted this new place, Mosaic…read more The signage said Vietnamese/Thai & Wine bar and also mentioned a lunch special. It is around 1:00 p.m. and the place isn't busy at all. There is only one other table of diners. The front door and the back door were both open so it created a beautiful breeze through the restaurant. I looked around and thought to myself why is it that every new small place has to look like a Restaurant Makeover makeover? Formulaic. Standard banquette Ultrasuede seating. Those slate grey stones that everyone is putting up on their walls to create that pseudo chic look. The Mosaic offers your basic $8.95 lunch with five different choices, one being a standard vegetarian option of Green Curry Tofu. I opted for the Chicken with mixed vegetables & Jasmine rice and a side soup (you get soup or salad). They bring it to you all together, soup, main & rice. While it was all fresh that is about where the goodness ended for me. Please, please, please....how about a little flavour here folks!!!! Lots of beautiful, fresh vegetables stirred up with a teensy, tiny, itty bitty drivel of Oyster sauce. They could have added some lemongrass or fresh ginger to this dish and it would have been a hundred times better. Other than the fact that I could feel food in my mouth my taste buds wouldn't have been any the wiser. As usual I'm a snappy happy and have a couple of pics, nothing special, just off my phone. I don't think I'd venture back in to Mosaic. It is a shame because the Queensway in this area is in need of some decent little eateries. Not everyone over here can afford the luxury of Kaji.
