It really is a blast from the past. Walking into 'cheers' and everyone knows your name. We were outsiders, but were greeted with a smile by the sweet lady behind the counter. A couple patrons also said hello. Unsure of where to sit we chose a small table off to the side and browsed the daily specials on the wall. Person after person strolled on in, and the woman behind the counter knew each ones drink order off by heart and already had it ready to go for them. Service like that is definitely something special in today's day and age. Prices are VERY cheap. $4.50 for draft beer, $12 for halibut tacos, $7.75 for a loaded banquet burger. Personally, food was nothing spectacular; At least what we had. I was definitely full and it tasted ok. I do want to come back and give some of their other dishes a try. Especially since they're homemade and many dishes have good reviews. If you're looking for quality service with cheap beer and eats, this definitely place is definitely worth checking out.

A friend told me afterward that slaws are separate. Then I think they should exclude the slaw from the pic - No plastic utentils nor condiments were included Maybe this is a case of miscommunication. Hutch's has been around for long as I can remember and is an institution in Hamilton. As soon as I walked in, I was shocked at how far it had deteriorated to the point of disgusting. Ceiling tiles were falling down, dead flies in all the light fixtures in the ceiling, cracked seats with upholstery stuffing protruding and just a general feeling of filth and decay. I was ashamed and apologized to my friend, as we left. What an embarrassment to the city and people who have supported this business over the years. This place needs a major overhaul to bring it back to the place we all knew and loved. Because as it stands, this place is a dump!!!!
