Ham cheese croquettes

This is a wine bar in Toronto's east end. They also have small plates, most of which are mean to be shareable. The ambiance inside is quite nice. It has nice lighting and it's quiet. The washrooms are clean as well. I can see why people would like this place, particularly if you enjoy wine. I found it to be on the pricier end, but it is a nice place to drink wine, socialize, and grab some small snacks.

Eggs Benedict

First things first, the place itself is very stylish with an elegant modern look. The staff were amazing and made the experience even better. The food was even better, the eggs Benedict were great but not as good as the chorizo rainbow eggs. The later blew my mind! We had a couple of mimosas which were ok (as good as a mimosa can be, nothing special ). Desserts were delicious, and not overwhelmingly sweet, shout out to the creme brûlée which was perfect, but I forgot to take the picture .

Great night having wine and a variety of different dishes with friends! The atmosphere here is top notch and so is the service. The lighting is really nicely done and sets up such a nice vibe. Food was great! Portions were generous, far more than expected and for the price as well. We ended up having a bottle to share but there were a lot of unique options to choose from. I'd definitely recommend a visit here, a great place in the neighborhood!

Eggs Benny with salmon and Croque Madame.
Cecilia T.

This review is for brunch only. My BF and I don't drink lol. Walked in on a Sunday @ noon and no wait. I ordered the croque madame and my bf ordered the eggs Benny with smoked salmon. Pros: a generous serving of salad for both plates. I was quite surprised by the volume. Cons: both mains lacked salt and dimensional flavour. For $18-19 I can't complain too much but it's definitely not the best. I didn't finish the salad but I would consider trying the dinner menu.

There has been a recent boom of wine bars in Toronto's east end and The ladybug wine bar is a wonderful addition to the corktown neighbourhood. The space is a restaurant/wine bar/bottle shop. They offer an array of unique wines that they sell at retail prices. We ended up going to this spot on a Monday night without knowing that they offer an industry special every Monday night. We were pleased to find out that you could purchase any bottle of wine for sale in their shelves to enjoy with your meal and only pay the retail price. For our meal We opted to sample many options from the menu. We started with the green salad and Chinese broccoli. The green salad was simple but it was dressed in a bright dressing that complimented the seasonally fresh greens. The Chinese broccoli was grilled perfectly which was placed atop a labne sauce, sprinkled with crunchy nuts and finished with a spicy chili oil. We then had the braised beef short ribs. This dish is more of an appetizer size offering of just the meat; don't expect to get any side components. Regardless, the beef was tender, fall off the bone and swimming in a umami filled broth. We were pleased to find out that they offer gluten free bread so we opted to sample the truffle mushroom toast. This was a perfectly composed bite of heaven. If you like truffle, you will appreciate this dish. Finally we had the roasted chicken thighs. The chicken was juicy, tender and well executed. The chicken was accompanied by a soft-yet crispy hasselback potato. Overall we had a wonderful evening at the ladybug. They change their menu weekly so we look forward to our next visit to sample some of their new offerings.

Burrata and Mushroom Salad - unbelievable

Legendary hidden gem brunch spot on the weekend that you MUST try given the quality of food, ambiance and price. Came in close to noon on a Saturday and took the countertop seats. The server was great and the light that shines into the area made it wonderful to eat at. This place specializes in wine but opens on the weekend for brunch! Consider it high quality food and ambience on noon at unbelievably reasonable prices!! Around $20sh a plate! The burrata and mushroom salad was spectacular and highly recommended! The potato's in the eggs Benedict was made in an interesting tasty way!

From the moment we walked in the restaurant it already had great vibes. The waitress was very friendly, she was very enthusiastic about wine and was great at explaining the wine from the wine flight. For brunch we ordered the BLT, shakshouka and eggs with smoked salmon. We enjoyed each dish, the shakshouka had chili vibes, the seasoning really came through, and the eggs with smoked salmon had a variety of flavors from the caramelized onions to the cucumber to the smoked salmon it all went well together! It was also well priced. You can also buy their wine if you find something you like!

Tomato Pie

Happy to see a wine bar open in the neighbourhood. Great service, nicely decorated but not pretentious. Wine bottles were reasonably priced, averaging at $40-$60. Impressed with the variety of small plates ($5-$16) selection especially the hot food items. We tried: 1. Tomato pie (5*): flakey buttery pie crust with tangy tomato and loads of Jamon! 2. Tostones (4*): looks simple, but I enjoyed the additional lemony zing/spices added to the plantains. It is a bit dry and having a garlic aioli (from the croquettes) to dip them in took this next level. 3. Ham croquettes (5*) : a bit bigger than those served at Spanish tapas, but not complaining! 4. Beef short ribs (4.5*): fall off the bone and great value for the $16 price! It is a bit heavy and rich and needed a bit more fresh sides to it. 5. Fish crudo (4*): fresh and light to complement all the heavier plates we ordered. 6. Baked Camembert (5*): what more could you ask for? Enjoyed the charred peaches and almond. 7. Olives: got them complementary and enjoyed the flavours, nice crunchy green olives and has a spicy bite to it (from the peppers). 5-6 small plates are great for two people; we were full by the end of the meal. Definitely recommend and would go back.

Wine Shop is outstanding, these are wines you cannot get at LCBO, these are unique, well balanced and some great esoteric ones as well. Prices are very reasonable. Try the Italian Chardonnay! It's not like anything you have had, crisp, nice acidity and not flabby, over-oaked, just delightful.
