I had been to this place a few times earlier on business lunches as it is near to one of my places of business. Those visits, always were good with the food and service being up to par and expectations for a restaurant of this nature. With that in mind I arranged our office's Christmas dinner this year, for our group of 20 people. It was a bit of a disappointment and the ironic thing is it had nothing to do with the food. It was the overall experience of the event being managed, right from the interactions and email responses to the evening of. Again, I should emphasize the food was excellent. Nada was our host and she did an amazing job though we could tell she was very busy as she was looking after multiple tables and big Christmas groups. The people at the host stand and the bar tenderer seemed to be having an off day that evening and their responses/ reactions and overall demeanour were not welcoming or nice. The owner, was helpful at the beginning of my interactions when finalizing the restaurant and menu but her responses tailed of later and there was no follow up after the event. Had some issues at the end with the restaurant not being part of the HST rebate program and also charging 20% gratuity after HST ( instead of before it). I would have to take that up separately with the establishment. read more

FiAMMA is a great crowd pleaser - balance of high end ambiance, quality food, and good service. I came for an informal business lunch. A few of my team members were welcomed as regulars, like family. There were diverse dietary needs in my group (vegetarian, gluten free, to more meat is better) and the staff patently helped us navigate options. Among the most memberable items were a shared diavola pizza, caprese di bufala, and ravioli al formaggio. The ingredients were fresh and satisfying, and flavours were rich and varied. Portion sizes are a little small for the price, at least for pasta dishes. You're paying for ambiance more than fresh pasta. All in all, good service, atmosphere, and food, a little high-priced. read more

This is a very nice Italian spot in Etobicoke notable for its ambiance. My CEO knows this place well and thought it would work well for us for lunch during our annual meeting. I had to agree that it was a good choice. It was located not far from our office in one of the West Side's ubiquitous strip plazas. As such, parking was no problem. It was a snowy day so it was not as busy as usual. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was the consummate professional and did a fabulous job taking care of us. She had a great sense of how often to check in during our meal. The striking thing about this place, as suggested above, was the ambiance. The lighting, the table settings and the decor were all commensurate with fine dining. However, the prices were not unreasonable given the style that was being projected. The menu was fashioned in a traditional Italian manner with progressive course offerings. But we found the pizza selections quite appealing for lunch. I chose the Diavola Pizza which had a little kick with its spicy sausage, jalapeños and red peppers. I was very happy with my selection. Likewise, my colleagues enjoyed their pizza choices of the Margherita, the Toscana and the Primavera. We also shared a piece of Chocolate Blueberry Cheesecake for dessert, which was quite tasty. The pizzas were $22 - $23 CAD each. With everything together including a bottle of wine, dessert, coffees, tax and tip, we finished around $35 - $40 CAD per person. While this is an expensive lunch, the quality was good. We also did not have to worry about expense as much given that it was a business meal. One could pare back the expense a bit if they desired to do so. I was quite happy with my experience at this place. This was my first visit but my colleagues have been there several times and were quite complimentary of this establishment with a much larger sample set. 4th time going here. First three times with work and tonight was with the family. It's good but not great. Service is not great. Waited too long when we arrived and overall not great service. Apps: are okay......Beef carpaccio seems like deli meat and that is not acceptable. Walnut/pear salad lacked pear and flavour and was a very small portion. Charcuterie board was just okay. NEXT: penne a la vodka was just okay. ENTREEs: veal osso buco was great. Branzino special was okay only. Cowboy steak for $100. What good restaurants do, is tell you the price for specials. It was good, but don't know the price until I got the bill. That's a DOUCHE technique. $575 for a family of 4 and 2 people drinking Jlohr, it's overpriced slightly above average Italian but I'll take my money elsewhere in the future. Very tasteful decor and ambiance. On business travel, dining alone after a very long day I was seeking a nice restaurant nearby, this was exactly what I sought. Quiet, nice wine, nice meal. Prices were very reasonable, portions ample without being obnoxious. Taking reviews into account I ordered a pasta dish, it did not disappoint, I could only eat about 1/2. For a Monday they were quite busy, unexpectedly I suspect as the waitress who served me, was serving the entire large section I was in. Though harried she did an outstanding job meeting every customer's need, including a few large parties. I'll add the wine list by the bottle was outstanding, so much so I was VERY tempted; by the glass the selection was conservative, but surprisingly good. And again favorably priced. read more

Came here for a team lunch on a weekday, checked the reviews on yelp many of which recommended to try their special. We asked our waiter for the special which he listed through like a rap song, so fast we can barely catch anything and after being asked to repeat it he seemed to have lost his patience. After trying to catch the specials again, I decided to go with the pasta. To make sure I'm within my budget, we inquired the price to which our waiter seemed to be further annoyed. I ended up ordering the daily special pasta which seemed like a cheesy spinach when it arrived. The pasta was nothing special, and portion seemed small and while it lacked in flavor, it was cooked al dante which I do appreciate. We recently had our Christmas party here and the experience was unbelievably fantastic!!!! The food was incredible and the service was over the top. Larry and Tony the two many people we were dealing with went out of their way to provide anything we needed. We often come to Fiamma for lunch and dinner meetings and we are treated like family every time. I sometimes have crazy request for food that is not on the menu but they seem to always make it happen. Following my GPS, I am thinking where in the heck am I going? Nearer to the Airport and the surrounding area, this place is GREAT for a company party or a large group. Service - They are very used to large crowds and big tables. Food - What is not too like. You are NOT coming here for food alone, but for a place to celebrate with a team. The food is good. the appetizers are fine and the entrees and their specials are going to be just right for you. The important thing is to keep the alcohol flowing. What not to like? - We had antipasta for an appetizer, bruchetta and I had sea bass as the main course. I enjoyed it all, but I enjoyed the company first and foremost. I came here for a work function on a weekday for lunch. The interior of this restaurant is dim and quite fancy feeling (bad for itis that came thereafter!). Definitely more of a classier vibe. Our server was very attentive and service was always present. We were given bread (with olive oil & vinegar) to start. I ordered the pan seared crusted sesame fresh Atlantic salmon, pineapple strawberry salsa ($27), which came with rice and veggies. For the price, I had expected much, much more (in terms of taste and portions). For such an expensive dish, I would've expected the presentation to be a little better (see picture, plating looked like that of a self-serve hot plate at Longos lol). I came here for a business lunch recently, and was impressed with the decor and ambiance the second I walked in. Beautifully decorated, dimly lit, I felt like I was walking into a very classy place. I wondered what the prices would be like, seeing as it felt very fancy - but to my surprise, they were incredibly reasonable. My 7oz Angus striploin was $21, and most dishes were between the $15-$25 range I would say. My steak was cooked how I requested, and the accompanying vegetables were very nice. My colleagues ordered various pasta dishes which looked to me like they used fresh pasta - bonus points (or maybe I've just seen too many episodes of Kitchen Nighmares and fresh pasta is common?). My clients took me to this restaurant as a way of saying thank you for the great year. Coming in I had no idea of what to expect considering it is Italian. The moment you step in you are greeted with nice people and brought to your seat. They offer a nice menu overall and wine at start. I had the halibut and bass with rice and veggies. It was nice and tasty. Considering it was lunch , the amount of people in where more than usual. The prices are good. Little bit high but that's what you would expect at an upscaled restaurant. I came with coworkers for lunch and it was a busy Friday afternoon. We had reservations so we did not have to wait. We were served promptly and got our orders of sparking water quickly. We ordered two appetizers, bruchetta and fried calamari to share between the 7 of us and the dishes were served quickly as well. I ordered the wild boar ragu while my coworkers ordered a variety of pasta and pizza. The portion sizes were very generous. I also wanted to note that the pizza is made in a wood fire oven which is super authentic and the pizza looked really good. My pasta was a good size but the flavour was very underwhelming. It was bland and pretty disappointing in taste. My coworkers enjoyed their meals and our service was quick and good so no complaints there. The restaurant's exterior is quite deceiving as the interior is nice and fancy. The location is in a plaza that you would not expect to have a so-called fancy Italian restaurant. This place would be good to host groups and client meetings; however not my recommended restaurant of choice for yummy pasta! read more

I've met my friend here for lunch a couple of times (2019) as she works in the area. Nice decor, friendly service but, honestly, too pricey for the amount of food you get. An average, personal little pizza will run you $20, small pear salad was like $17 and I recall them charging us something like $5 for tap water. Rumour has it this place is owned by the Mafia. Either way it's fantastic. The decor is dark and romantic and high class. The food is impeccable; I don't think there is anything bad on the menu. I had the Penne alla Vodka. What can I say, a creamy vodka sauce tossed with panchetta, awesome. The caesar salad I had to start with was really well done too. Went to FiAMMA for the first (& most likely last) time tonight. It's located close to my work in Etobicoke and I've always wanted to try it. Sadly, it wasn't a great experience. The food was...adequate. The Caesar Salad was poor. I expect a $14 salad to look and taste great. My Lamb Pappardelle was delicious but light on the Lamb Ragu. My wife's roast chicken was also delicious. We shared a tiramisu that was very tasty for dessert. The reason I won't be returning is the service. It wasn't very busy but the service was very poor. I'm not sure if it was the fact that we are a same sex couple or that we didn't want to order alcohol, but our waiter ignored us the entire meal except to take our order and when it was time to pay the bill. He basically threw the menus on the table. He didn't check on us to ask how are meal was etc. I've worked service industry for years( waitress and bartender ) and I don't expect someone to fawn on me. Good Italian food. Awful service. First time ever I had a waiter attempt to clear the table while I was still eating. This has happened on occasion when I'm eating with others and they finish eating before me. I don't agree with it, but understand that. In this instance I was eating alone. Fork literally in my mouth as he attempts to clear. I should have known service would be lacking when I arrived and stood at the hostess station for 10 minutes waiting for someone to notice I needed to be seated. The bartender was fiddling with ice at his empty bar that faced me and the hostess station. I finally went up to him and asked if I should just sit anywhere or wait to be seated. His response, "What do you mean?" didn't instill confidence. Anytime I wanted something I had to loudly say, "excuse me, could I ... place my order, get some water, order some wine", etc. as he walked by. Lest you think he was overwhelmed there were only 4 tables with a total of 6 people in the whole restaurant (2 doubles and 2 singles). Inexpensive "fine" dining in the far away place of Etobicoke. Downtowners won't find it easy to find. This is a good place to take your clients, treat them with decent meal without breaking your bank account. According to my wine lover friends, wine list is decent (I don't drink). I'm yelping for the Woodbridge location. Decor in the ristorante is nice, and service is adequate. In terms of food I ordered a Cesar salad and noticed that the produce was not fresh. I'm speculating but from my understanding the restaurant is fairly new and not a lot of business goes in and out, so they must be reserving on things like lettuce. I also ordered a penne a la vodka. I found it to be too creamy and was unable to finish my meal. My experience here was just ok. I wonder how the restaurant is in the Toronto location 3 days later, I've been experiencing stomach pain since my visit there. So I have passed this place many times and I am at the Tim Horton's next door regularly. Every time I walk outside all I can smell is the wood burning oven and the pizza. Everyone rants and raves that they have the best wood oven pizza. I am Italian and have tried my fair share of Wood oven pizza. After hearing all these comments I figured that seeing how hard it is to find a good real Italian pizza I MUST try it. The server was very forgetful and somewhat sarcastic. Kind of a turn off to begin with. I was with a group and we ordered a few apps which were very good ill give the apps 4 stars. Lets get to the pizza. I was so excited only to be LET DOWN. The pizza has NO taste what so ever. I felt like I was eating plain dough. Lacking salt. Toppings had no taste. I can rant and rave all day but I think you get the point. My girlfriend got the gnocchi which were very very good ill give them 5 stars. Should have got the gnocchi. Everyone that ordered something other then pizza was happy I will go back but will NOT be getting the pizza. Weather or not I return after that will be determined after my second visit. We go to Fiamma for dinner frequently and we decided to have our daughters 30th birthday party in the private dining area. We had 35 people and everything was fantastic. Larry did a great job planning the menu with us in advance and everyone loved the appetizers and main courses. The service was exceptional that evening with Nada and Larry ensuring everything went off perfectly. Interior decor is dark in old 80's mob flick but I guess it has its charms if you are out for a night with the wife. The food is pretty good. I had a pizza and salad and was satisfied with both. The pizza is wood oven thin crust and a good version of it! I also tried the gnocchi which was extremely heavy and not as good as the pizza. Prices are fairly reasonable though perhaps slightly on the high side for its location. Service is friendly and attentive. All in all not a bad spot close to the airport. read more
