    Napoletana Pizza

I've been to the Vaughan location and way back when, that one impressed the pants off of me... seriously, I got kicked out because my pants disappeared after eating pizza there.... so I was intrigued, would my palette be dumbed down by more years of pizza eating experience? Or would I wake up once again from a pizza induced Fugue state... naked, pizza stained, content but afraid. You can't get closer to St. Clair and Dufferin really, it's nearly right at the intersection on the east side so easily accessible by car, foot, transit or magic flying pizza box. It's a larger space with lots of seating a bunch of staff and a signature of Corso Italia restaurants, an imported Espresso/Capuccino machine on the counter of the bar. We shared the arugula salad to start which was prepared in the traditional manner with light lemon juice and olive oil. Topped with shredded parmigianno reggiano, walnuts and prosciutto slices. So good, big enough for an entré or enough for two to share. We went with a personal pizza each, my DC had a Diavola and I went with the Barese (it's in conflict with the caption on my picture but I forgot the name). That pizza was so damn good, outside my normal order but so thin, but not too thin where it falls apart. Topped with rapini, cherry tomatoes, and barese sausage outstanding. Overall, it's a great spot and reasonably priced for a Toronto restaurant. Looking forward to coming back more in the future Eatcrest out!

My friend and I LOVED this place. The food was amazing. I ordered the rigatoni bolognese but asked if I could get fettuccine instead and they accommodated my request. The staff are extremely friendly and provided excellent service. They also give you a bread basket with butter, oils, and balsamic vinaigrette. Super cute area and a small, but cozy patio.

Loved their basic pepperoni which was loaded with mozzarella cheese and tasty pepperoni on a soft thin pizza crust and fresh tomato sauce! simple but so delicious! the calamari and shrimps were so fresh and juicy. we also had the fettuccini in cream sauce which would have been but it lacked a little more salt for my taste. for dessert we had homemade tiramisu which was too soft, the turtle cheesecake which was super delicious and the red velvet cake which was impeccable!

Marcello's is a standard place for me and my 2 best friends to eat. Our mentor and friend found this restaurant while in rehearsal for one of het tours. While we spend time in Toronto 1,2 or even 3 nights are spend ordering out or dining in at this establishment. The food is delicious and the memories flood back when we're together. Lois would be proud that we spend our time here. Thank you for your service, delicious food and fun atmosphere. Even if we're exhausted, a trio to Marcello's is what perks us up.

I've been here twice already and every time I think about the food my mouth waters for more! My latest visit was the best one overall. The spaghetti al pesto was delicious! It was full of flavor and the presentation was just awesome. The service was good and it wasn't that busy at the time but I did come in around 430. Great prices for the portion sizes you get and a definite yes to coming back to this place! Maybe next time I'll give the pizza's a go!

Marcello's Pizza with red sauce added. Whole basil was pretty until I tore it up. :p

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant with classic pizzeria stone oven. I had the Marcello's Pizza with red sauce added, and an orange Italian soda. It was a lovely recommendation by very welcoming staff. A must-dine! They also have classic olive oil, vinegar, and chilli oil at every table. Belissimo!

Saffron risotto with seafood. Really poorly done and definitely not risotto. More like rice, cold, with saffron.

Usually one of our favourites and most reliable Italian spots in the city, however the last couple of times have been disappointing, especially our most recent visit. Service is always great and has stayed that way, but some of pasta dishes and pizza are not what they were. We ordered the pasta special, risotto with seafood. Hardly a risotto, more like rice with some saffron added. Tasteless, cold and a total send back, which we did. Our companion Margherita Pizza with olives and basil just as tasteless and if I didn't know better, I'd say the pizza was pre-made, with toppings added when ordered. Tasted like cardboard. We opted for the bolognese pasta instead and it was fine, not great but better than the other two dishes. Hope they make a return to the level Marcello's was and soon.

    Natural repugnance to overrated restaurant!

Okay I've been going for years and the staff turnover is massive! They don't seem to care and are only interested in the tip! Millennials and Gen X waiters and new immigrants! The food to be fair is great and I guess the owner is so stingy when he pours a thimble full of wine instead of being generous with his patrons! I suggest take out and create your own evening of dining!

What a pleasant surprise! We were walking the St. Clair strip on Labour Day and found most things closed. Heads hung low, we were about to give up when Marcellos came into our view. It was like the universe read our minds and produced exactly the kind of restaurant we were looking for. Marcellos is laid back, warm and hopping. We were seated quickly, and the service continued all evening to be just right - attentive but not over eager and fast. I started with the grilled calamari, which was cooked perfectly - not a rubbery tentacle in sight. Just slightly charred, tender flesh on a bed of greens with a nice balsamic reduction to complement. For our mains, we had the primavera pizza and the penne arrabiatta. The pizza had luscious whole sun-dried tomatoes that were quite sweet, unlike the salty bits you sometimes find on pizza. The salty green olives were a great combo. Pizza crust was thin and chewy - really great. Pasta was a little less interesting. The sauce was quite spicy, but pretty one-note. No depth of flavour or roundness that a little butter might offer. The pasta was also a bit over-cooked and clearly of the dried, rather than home-made, variety. But we didn't care. Marcellos doesn't pretend to be fine dining, it's a family restaurant and an excellent one at that. We will definitely be coming back often. Vegetarian Score: 7.5/10. Some interesting options and lots to choose from. Vegans will have less (as usual) but veggies have good variety.

I've been to both locations now and both are fairly busy - depending on what time you visit, of course! On a Sunday afternoon, late lunch, the St. Clair W location was quite packed. A young male waiter with long hair and glasses spotted us and recognised that we wanted something quiet, so we were sat right next to the kitchen. At first, I thought it was weird, but he was right, it's actually the quietest table in the restaurant! Feels kinda separate from the busyness upfront...until you hafta scoot around people to head downstairs to the washrooms. ;) Ordered the grilled calamari, quite good. (I would've preferred the breaded version, but I was *trying* to be healthy.) And for main, the Primavera pizza ($14) was shared. Due to the toppings like sundried tomatoes & olives, the pizza was on the saltier side, but still didn't feel too heavy because of the thin crust. Aside from the really thin crust, what sets their pizza apart is also their CHEESE! They use really good, chewy quality mozz, yum!!! Service was very pleasant, mainly due to the waiter who seated us. His personality was very upbeat and understood my needs which added to the experience.

There is an upstairs balcony seating but I've never sat there. During warm weather, there is plenty of roadside outdoor seating too. This is my fourth time here but I never wrote a review fir the restaurant before. We ordered the following: 1. Shrimp Perno (daily special $6/shrimp). Jumbo Shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, tomatoes, scallions, and finished off with a shot of perno liquor. 2. Rack of Lamb (daily special $59.95). Four pieces of lamb in a rack, with a rich portion wine reduced sauce, that has a touch of mint to it, and Penne Pasta in a tomato rose sauce. The table bread was really good. The crust was crispy but the inside was fluffy. The soft butter that came it was so tasty. The bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce that came with the shrimp. We asked for a second basket of bread and they put two loafs in the second basket. It was too much so they were willing to let us take it home. The shrimps were definitely jumbo. It was so filling. Two pieces (per person) were good enough as an appetizer. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. We requested the lamb be cooked medium rare. It was definitely medium rare. It was juicy and did not have a gamey taste. It tastes great. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The tomato rose sauce was really good. They offered to grind parmesan cheese and pepper so we got both. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and paid parking lots. Review 2025-187

It's a dining experience you don't see every day in Toronto. Even the washrooms are memorable, tucked away in the basement in what used to be old jail cells, which adds to the charm and gives the whole place a bit of personality. We went for an early Sunday dinner before a concert at Massey Hall. The restaurant got pretty busy as the evening went on, but it never felt chaotic. The atmosphere is lovely and lively, a great choice for a special night out or a pre-show meal. We started with Calamari alla Griglia with mixed greens, capers, onions, and fresh tomatoes. It was a fresh, bright appetizer with good balance. For mains, my date had the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare with clams, mussels, calamari, scallop, and tiger shrimp in a tomato sauce. The menu described it as mildly spicy, but it definitely had a noticeable kick. Still, the flavours were really good. I ordered the Ravioli al Brasato with braised beef, butter, sage, and parmigiano. It was tasty and comforting, though portion-wise I could have used a few more ravioli. I was still a bit hungry after and honestly double the size would have been perfect for me. For dessert we shared the Tiramisu with espresso-soaked savoiardi, mascarpone, and cocoa. I had an amaro while my date finished with zambuca. A sweet and satisfying way to wrap up the meal. The service was friendly, though drinks came out a bit slower than expected. Terroni's food is tasty, the setting is gorgeous, and it's easy to see why locals keep coming back. It's not cheap, but the quality and ambience make it worth trying, especially for dinner before a show or a relaxed date night in one of Toronto's most unique spaces.

There were four flights of stairs to get up to the first floor with the bar and main dining area. There was another two flights of stairs to get to the upper bar (which I was too tired to walk up to). The drinks at the bar were good and the staff were all great. We started with passed apps. Some of the flavour combinations were just off (the skewer with fruit, cheese and something else) - like they paired the wrong cheese with the fruit. The meal itself was a seat down meal (family style) which did take over two hours to complete for the amount of guests that were present (over 200 ppl). My favorite dish was the tomato and mozza salad. My most disappointed dish was the ragu pasta. Though containing a good amount of meat it was not saucy at all. The pizza was the brocolini was good as well. The reason I gave this restaurant three stars is strictly for the lack of elevator and the food quality vs the price. For what you are paying, there is so much higher quality food in the city and I honestly think you can get better bang for buck elsewhere.

Our server was great at helping us pick our wine, he mentioned that their wines are all on the dry side which is perfect for me, I'm not one for sweet wines. The combination of the peach and mint went really well with the burrata. Light and easy to eat. The patio at night is one of the highlights.
