    Margherita pizza
    Idan R.

Category: Gourmet pizza/Italian fare. Pizza e Pazzi is a nice little spot for thin-crust stone oven pizza. Here is my overall rating: Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 2/5 I ordered the Margherita ($19). It's a personal size pizza and not a huge bang for your buck. I opted for beef mozzarella instead of buffalo. The pizza was pretty tasty. It had a nice smoky crust. But it had a few deficiency. First of all it was way too thin at the bottom. And the sauce was way to runny. So the bottoms became completely soggy and would tear apart when you try to pick it up. Also there was too much crust, not enough cheese or sauce. Finally, the 4 basil leafs were placed before the bake and became completely dried. They should have been placed just before serving. My biggest complaint is that we ordered a bottle of water and got a small bottle that costed $8. I will say that the server was excellent. She was very professional and sweet. I wish I could score higher, but I score based on the pizza not the service. The ambiance is pretty nice. But I would recommend replacing the plastic flowers on the table with real ones. Even no flowers at all is better than plastic ones. The restaurant has more items on the menu other than pizza. I wouldn't mind giving them another shot to try their other offerings.

Green street parking available. Came during the week. Spot opens at 4pm. I called for reservation - not sure if it's required. Quaint spot for an early bite to eat. Rigatoni alla caprese was simply delicious. The basil pesto was such a nice touch. All the ingredients complemented each other without being overpowering. Short ribs with assorted veggies. Standard. Nothing out of the ordinary. The veggies were slightly bland.

Our last night in Toronto we decided on this place. The place was pretty empty but smells delightful looking forward to this meal. This drink the Sangria Italiana is out of this world it's a little pricey but very tasty to say the least. The food is A1! Glad we chose this place! If you're in town check them out!

Went for the pizza because reviews said it was known for that but they were unfortunately super soggy near the centre. Seems to be too much sauce or too thing of a crust so it was quite soggy. The gnocchi was ok. Could have been chewier.

Black paste truffle pizza and mushroom risotto

Incredible food, but understaffed - My family and I ordered the seafood platter, bruschetta, and Caesar salad to start as appetizers. We also ordered the pescatora, the bufala mozzarella margherita, the cowboy steak (special), the black truffle paste pizza, and the mushroom risotto as sharing mains. All in all, everything was fantastic although I would most highly recommend the seafood platter, bruschetta, and mushroom risotto. I will say that service was a little bit delayed not due to a bad server, but limited number of servers (I only saw one waitress in the entire restaurant on a Friday night). She was extremely busy, and yet continued to serve happily and as efficient as she could be. Nonetheless, a great experience.

We went their after around 9pm. They had a teenager's birthday party that night. So was a bit noisy that night. Overall the ambience was good and we got the street parking right outside the restaurant. Service was good. Waitress was nice and respectful. We ordered calamari and and Di parma. Calamari was god but some of the pieces were overcooked and rubbery. Di Parma was alright. The dough was nice and fresh and the toppings were flavorful as well. The the pizza got very soggy from the middle and it broke every time we tried to get the slice in our plates. I would say it was an alright experience not something exceptional. We might go back if around the neighborhood.

LOVE THIS PIZZA PLACE. The pizza here is absolutely fantastic. Not heavy at all, and the dough is to die for. I ordered the one with prosciutto, arugula, and fresh fior de latte. Loved it! For dessert, I had the panda cotta with fresh berry jam. Absolutely perfect. Prices were fair and service was excellent. I'll definitely be returning!

This place is as authentic as it gets for Italian Pizza in Toronto. To be honest I would avoid pizzerias here until I discovered Pizza e pazzi. I have been to the Wychwood location numerous times and I have never been disappointed. Recently I visited their Corso Italia place with a group of pizza lovers. I had high expectations and let's say they delivered on every bit except the service. The food was fantastic. I ordered the Diavola as usual. This pizza never fails me. Love the spicy salami and basil with a drizzle of spicy olive oil on top! We also had the crispy calamari appetizer to share. While not the best, it was well cooked and seasoned. All of us were very satisfied at the end of our meal. Then Lambert ordered the nutella dessert to share. It was amazing. Fried dough drizzled with generous amounts of nutella and powdered sugar. Every bite was heavenly. I was really full but I couldn't stop eating it. All in all a great experience. I wouldn't hesitate to come back with a group again!

This Neapolitan Pizzeria deserves its time to shine in the Toronto VERO Pizza limelight! I always go for the classic, Margherita with bufala mozzarella and every time it's pure pleasure in my mouth! The staff is great, all of our servers have spoken Italian and when you phone a reservation they make you smile with their "Ciao Bella" and "Grazie Bella" remarks! They used to have a frizzantino (non-sweet) red wine, Gragnano which is the only wine anyone should ever drink with pizza (otherwise choose beer) and I wish they could bring it back I hear they opened a new Jewish Italian, Roman pasta place, will have to give it a try! If you're jonesing for an excellent VERO Neapolitan pizza... Pizza e Pazzi delivers! Grazie Mille! Buonissimo!

I've been going to this restaurant off and on since it opened. Their menu has changed a bit from time to time but they stay pretty consistent. As far as pizza goes this place makes what they call certified Neapolitan pizza. That is they use the methods and ingredients that are used in the official pizza from Napoli. That being said I've had many of their different pizzas both ordered, sampled, shared with others etc. I've had maybe half of each the pizza with sauce (rosso=red) or without (blanco) and they really make it as you would expect if you had something to compare it to. I've never been to Napoli so I can't compare it to the "real thing" but I can say that their food is very good regardless. They make good food and they happen to be authentic. I particularly enjoy the tuna salad as a starter which you can share because it's a big serving as well as the fried dough with nutella as a dessert. I was just there yesterday and the menu is less explanatory than it used to be because the descriptions are harder to understand for a layperson non-Italian like myself but for what it's worth their product is a very good product. The service every time I've ever been has been decent to great. I can't say I've ever had a bad experience there as far as service goes but the food it special that's for sure.

Incredible buffalatta with parma prosciutto. If this is offered as a special app., make sure there is four of you!
    Brian J.

As good as it gets for neapolitan pizza, and maybe, Toronto's best. The other items we gave here, calamari, and a spectacular buffalatta and parma appetizer have also been terrific. Homemade foccacia with three toppings provide a nice start to the meal. All this in a very fine looking restaurant, with lots of character. Preventing a five star review is the service. We've been twice and the first time, service was fine, the second time it came with attitude and a "i'll do it my way" kind of thing", bordering on rudeness. After we clearly made it aware that we wouldn't take this kind if thing with our attitude, it improved, but still not great. Sorry Pizza e pazzi...but you need to improve the attitude with some of your people. You're food and restaurant are amazing, this doesn't need to ruin it.

I knew from previous visits that the food and service were exceptional, but this week reinforced why this has become one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in the city. Max and Trevor behind the bar made the experience seamless from night one. Not only did they remember my name, they recalled my exact order and dietary needs every evening without hesitation. Traveling for work while maintaining a low sodium, heart healthy diet can be challenging, so finding consistency matters. I did not want to chance food remorse or uncertainty with ingredients, and they made sure my burrata and salmon were prepared perfectly each night. By night five, I was basically in a legally recognized relationship with burrata, salmon...and the guys. Sofia, who had provided exceptional service to us on a previous visit months ago, was there as well. I made a point to remind her how memorable and appreciated her hospitality had been, and it was great to see the same professionalism and warmth continue throughout the restaurant team. Five straight nights at the same restaurant says a lot on its own. Consistent food, genuinely attentive staff, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back. I came here with my best friend for a birthday dinner, and I could immediately see why this place has lasted for decades. It's tucked inside an old house on Elm Street, and the whole restaurant has that warm, family-run charm that makes you feel like people have been coming here for years and bringing more people back with them. The tables are definitely close together, so it's a little tight when the restaurant gets busy, but honestly that also adds to the lively energy because there was a steady flow of people coming in all night. Food-wise, there were a few dishes that really stood out. The carpaccio is such a good order, very thinly sliced raw beef, simple and classic, and honestly one of the most reasonably priced versions I've seen. My personal favorite was the prosciutto & melon. It's such a simple dish, but when it's done well, it really hits, and this one did. The real star for me though was the Cozze Marinara. The mussels were plump, tender, and clean, with no sandy bits, and the garlicky tomato sauce was so good that I ended up scooping it up with bread until the plate was basically spotless. We also tried the Vitello Marsala with mushrooms and Penne Arrabbiata, which felt very classic and comforting. If you like traditional Italian flavors, this is the kind of dish that will make you happy. That said, I personally wouldn't recommend mixing the meat and pasta together too much, I think they shine better on their own. Later we also ordered the garlic grilled seafood fettuccine because we were enjoying ourselves so much, and that one was much lighter in flavor. Nice enough, but probably not the best choice if you like richer or bolder pasta dishes. By the end we were completely full and had to leave a few strands of fettuccine behind, which almost never happens for me. Overall, Donatello feels like the kind of neighborhood Italian restaurant people return to for comfort, generous portions, and that warm family run atmosphere. It may not be the most spacious or modern place, but it has heart, and some dishes were genuinely memorable.

There is an upstairs balcony seating but I've never sat there. During warm weather, there is plenty of roadside outdoor seating too. This is my fourth time here but I never wrote a review fir the restaurant before. We ordered the following: 1. Shrimp Perno (daily special $6/shrimp). Jumbo Shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, tomatoes, scallions, and finished off with a shot of perno liquor. 2. Rack of Lamb (daily special $59.95). Four pieces of lamb in a rack, with a rich portion wine reduced sauce, that has a touch of mint to it, and Penne Pasta in a tomato rose sauce. The table bread was really good. The crust was crispy but the inside was fluffy. The soft butter that came it was so tasty. The bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce that came with the shrimp. We asked for a second basket of bread and they put two loafs in the second basket. It was too much so they were willing to let us take it home. The shrimps were definitely jumbo. It was so filling. Two pieces (per person) were good enough as an appetizer. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. We requested the lamb be cooked medium rare. It was definitely medium rare. It was juicy and did not have a gamey taste. It tastes great. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The tomato rose sauce was really good. They offered to grind parmesan cheese and pepper so we got both. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and paid parking lots. Review 2025-187

It's a dining experience you don't see every day in Toronto. Even the washrooms are memorable, tucked away in the basement in what used to be old jail cells, which adds to the charm and gives the whole place a bit of personality. We went for an early Sunday dinner before a concert at Massey Hall. The restaurant got pretty busy as the evening went on, but it never felt chaotic. The atmosphere is lovely and lively, a great choice for a special night out or a pre-show meal. We started with Calamari alla Griglia with mixed greens, capers, onions, and fresh tomatoes. It was a fresh, bright appetizer with good balance. For mains, my date had the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare with clams, mussels, calamari, scallop, and tiger shrimp in a tomato sauce. The menu described it as mildly spicy, but it definitely had a noticeable kick. Still, the flavours were really good. I ordered the Ravioli al Brasato with braised beef, butter, sage, and parmigiano. It was tasty and comforting, though portion-wise I could have used a few more ravioli. I was still a bit hungry after and honestly double the size would have been perfect for me. For dessert we shared the Tiramisu with espresso-soaked savoiardi, mascarpone, and cocoa. I had an amaro while my date finished with zambuca. A sweet and satisfying way to wrap up the meal. The service was friendly, though drinks came out a bit slower than expected. Terroni's food is tasty, the setting is gorgeous, and it's easy to see why locals keep coming back. Some of the flavour combinations were just off (the skewer with fruit, cheese and something else) - like they paired the wrong cheese with the fruit. The meal itself was a seat down meal (family style) which did take over two hours to complete for the amount of guests that were present (over 200 ppl). My favorite dish was the tomato and mozza salad. My most disappointed dish was the ragu pasta. Though containing a good amount of meat it was not saucy at all. The pizza was the brocolini was good as well. The reason I gave this restaurant three stars is strictly for the lack of elevator and the food quality vs the price. For what you are paying, there is so much higher quality food in the city and I honestly think you can get better bang for buck elsewhere.
