I've been to this location twice. The service is fast, service is diligent. Both times I ordered a pizza. The pizza here is Neapolitan style. I think if you want the option of choice- Goodfellas is one to try. I love coming in here for the chili oil which is a pesto based oil. It pairs nice with the dry chili. You have the option of flat or sparking water. The atmosphere is an intimate enough for two people but it is loud so if you need more room to hear yourself try the patio. A reservation is a must. My friend and I decided to celebrate Christmas early at this spot that he's been recommending for ages. I had the pasta with meat sauce, half the Matteo pizza, single espresso, tiramisu while my friend had the squash pasta, the other half of the Matteo pizza, tiramisu, double espresso. The food and drinks were amazing! Amazing sauce and texture on the pizza and pasta. Very fresh ingredients and were very reasonably priced. The espresso and tiramisu were flawless and everything I expected to top off my wonderful evening. The service was excellent, we were seated at the bar and the bartender taking care of us was very welcoming, friendly and kind. He made recommendations and we tried almost everything he recommended. The ambiance was superb, open concept kitchen, dimmed lights and was kind of loud from how busy the restaurant was at the time. 10/10 would recommend to a friend and will come back. This place was amazing, I don't understand why it doesn't have better reviews. The green triangle thingy pasta was so good and the pizza was out of this world. The cocktails were good and it was fun sitting at the pizza counter watching the guys make the pizzas and put them in the oven (our 4 year old was fascinated.) This would be a great first date spot because it's casual enough for anyone, but fancy, dark and chic enough that it's supper hip. The music is good and it's in a cute little town. Wow! I am in love with the food at the place Seating: We sat out in the patio due to the beautiful weather. The menu was on the QR code which was easy to access. Our waitress was attentive and nice and gave us some water right away. I do have to note the water does cost money as it's in a bottle. Food: Burrata board: The board had burrata cheese, grapes, as well as some garnishes and meat. It was absolutely delicious and I could not stop munching on it even though it was just my appetizer. Kale salad: The Kale salad was really good, however, it was not as memorable as our burrata. I do recommend it, but I do think there are other choices on the menu that would be better. Pizzas You have to order their pizza! We got the margarita pizza as well as the one with prosciutto. It was fantastic and I took some home and it was still good the day after LOL. Drinks: I got an Aperol spritz for myself and it was nice and sweet. My go to drink as you can tell from my other reviews haha. Overall, it was a little pricey. It came to around 210 for 3 people. 2 appetizers, 2 pizzas, 3 alcoholic drinks. It's a little pricey but we do think it's worth it for the ambiance and the delicious food! read more

Aperol Spritz 9/10 & White Sangria 7/10 The star of the show was the appetizer: a burrata on top of a bed of pesto, olive oil, and balsamic glaze surrounded with green grapes. Paired on top of a thin foccacia bread was absolutely deliscous. The think crust pizza dough was incredibly deliscous. Really craving Pizza right now so I am taking the opportunity to review one of my favourite places to grab a fancy one. 7 is an upscale Italian spot facing the main square in Downtown Oakville. It has a unique underground feeling. The vibe is cozy but secretive in my mind. The decor is classy. I love the darkness of the space, and being able to see the kitchen staff at work - especially the pizza oven. They describe it as pairing a "modern aesthetic to traditional enoteca". They truly make a great Neapolitan here. What I love is the contrast of the toppings. I believe their menu is always changing, but I once had a fried egg on my pizza - it was amazing. All the ingredients are creatively selected, and they have a wonderful selection of Italian wines to choose from. Highly recommend trying 7! We came here for the first time for Valentine's Day dinner. The inside has a traditional Roman style cellar type ambiance which is very cool. As we sat down, we were informed by the hostess that our table was booked for a 2 hr period which we found reasonable for vday. The service was excellent from beginning to end and our water glasses were never empty. I got a glass of wine and my partner had the paper plane which was very large and delicious. We started our meal with a salumi and formaggi board which was nothing special but yummy. My partner got the Carne pizza which was tasty and well made as well but I have had better resto pizzas in other spots. The highlight for me was the Grilled Orata! I got a small (1 piece) and subbed the potatoes for broccolini (extra $6). And it was sooo delicious. I would come back here just to have it again and get the 2 piece portion next time. It was very well seasoned with parmesan and a delicious chimichurri style sauce on the side. I could see why some people might think it is too salty but for me it was perfect. For dessert we had the pear and almost torta/tart and the tiramisu. The tiramisu was definitely the better dessert. Thanks Melanie C for organizing the UYE which gave me an excuse to travel across town to Oakville... and 7 Pizzeria Enoteca is well worth the trip. The staffs here are amazing: friendly and accommodating. I got confused about the meet up time and got here early (for a change), but the wait staff took great care of me and made me feel right at home. I just love the Pizza Making Bar area, you can chit chat with the nice gentlemen that made your pizza and just looking at the wood burning oven made me feel warm and fuzzy..... Get The Matteo!! It has just a more complex flavour with the cheese, lemon, honey, saltiness of Parma and the tartness of baby arugala. Btw, that was my pizza which I gracefully shared it with others..... The Seafood Linguine was quite good too. Egg noodle was cooked al dente and with huge scallops and shrimps..! My absolute favourite place for pizza! After tasting Neapolitan pizza in Italy, my life was forever changed and I became a pizza snob once I came back home. The chewy and savoury dough coupled with simple yet fresh ingredients is heavenly and I dream about it every time I crave pizza. Coming back home, nothing could satisfy my pizza cravings until I discovered 7 Enoteca. I've tries the margherita, prosciutto & arugula, and the mushroom pizzas and they've all been great except for the prosciutto & arugula (the prosciutto was extremely salty and I just felt that the overall balance wasn't great). They also have a small but nice patio out front by the square which is nice in the summer. Although quite over-priced, they truly are the closest thing you can get to authentic Neapolitan pizza, especially with the chewy and savoury dough. Yum! read more

Came here on a Saturday night with my family. It seemed like a really nice place to go and looked beautiful on the inside/outside. We were seated right away however service was VERY slow and it took the waiter almost 25 mins to just serve us water. I ordered the grilled calamari and my brother ordered the cacio e pape gnocchi. The portions were small and not very filling. I would definitely suggest ordering more than one plate (unless its the pizza). It was also quite pricey for the amount of food we ordered. The setting in the evening is quite nice with the low din lights and candle lit table with the fresh flowers. Our server was great. I didn't catch her name but she was attentive to serve us. As for starters... I had the lemon mascarpone bruschetta wrapped figs. It is to die for! Being my fourth time here, I always offers bruschetta wrapped figs. It is so good! They aren't burnt, the figs literally melt open with the lemon mascarpone. They were served with a side of mini chip like baguettes, plus, extra bruschetta. We also had the salami And cheese board which I didn't eat but u We ordered three different types of pizza, the pizzas were all thin crust: 1) Carne: Sam Mariano tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala, house sausage salami and caramelized onions. My sister loved it was light to digest and also a kick of spice. The crust wasn't over cooked. 2) Spagnola: Iberico de Bellota Chorizo, shishito peppers, manchego and mozzarella di bufala. It honestly didn't taste that good. I feel like something was missing, taste. I recommend that they edit the ingredients? Unsure if spagnola actually contains the ingredients listed above. In the end not that good. 3) Vitelli: Pan seared beef tenderloin, 24 month aged manchego, cremini mushrooms, coriander, and pecorino. This was my pizza and I honestly enjoyed eating it. It is opposite or totally polar from the original tomato based pizza. I enjoyed the meaty-ness and seasoning of the sirloin. I also enjoyed the aged machego. 7 Pizzeria Enoteca (or 'The 7' for the cool kids) is a brand spanking new Italian restaurant in downtown Oakville. It's on the east side of Town Square, closeby Soontorn Bahn Thai and the Green Beanery. I hope it doesn't show my age too much that I remember when this place was an ice cream parlour called What's The Scoop. Iced creams cost a nickel back then, but the only way downtown was by cablecar or oxcart. "Ox to the square?" kids would ask each other. Someone would invariably get typhoid along the way. Wow, those were different times. Anyway, what a happening place this is. It's a bit cavelike in The 7, with low vaulted ceilings and modest lighting. They don't take reservations here, but with a little finagling, hovering and just plain charms-manship our group snagged a spot as two trios around the corner of the bar. We had full view of the authentic wood-burning pizza oven (built on site over four days by a craftsman flown in from Naples) and their pizzaiolos kept us roundly entertained while spinning pies. A clipboard offers a wide selection of wines, mostly red from what I could see. They also have a smart drink list featuring classic cocktails like a Manhattan, Sazerac (with Rye and Absinthe), Negroni, etc. There is grappa also if you're feeling suicidal. From their variety of appetizers I ordered the grilled octopus. It was cooked well and served with a tasty white bean salsa. Let's talk pizza. They range from about $12-20 for a personal-sized pie. They have classics like your margherita, or multi-cheese deals, and a few really creative assemblages as well. The pizzas are cooked in no time in their oven, on a super thin and crispy crust. If you want them cut you have to ask, but they are happy to oblige. We shared a few slices among us, and I really enjoyed everything I ate. My favorite had to be the Matteo: it was covered with arugula and tasted faintly of honey. But seriously, not a bad slice to be had. The ingredients are locally sourced where possible. Try the salami; we tried some uncooked pieces and they were melting in our mouths. On a hot pizza it's even better. On top of all this was their phenomenal service. A group of six is kind of unwieldy for this restaurant (especially *our* group of six), but they managed us with aplomb. Plying us with a few complimentary tiramisus didn't hurt either. Town Square is turning into quite the destination for eats. I shall return. Obligatory Title Pun: This place is no SEVEN day wonder. Menu Readability: Elegant. The 2 of us started off our Thursday evening meal at 6pm. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed with smiles and great service. They do have a patio but not many seats so we grabbed a table inside near a window. We couldn't decide which wine to get (they have a great list!) so they let us sample both the Barolo and the valpolicella ripasso. We went with the ripasso for 15 dollars for the glass. Started off with the prosciutto wrapped figs which comes with bread, cheese and a nice jam for $18. Then I ordered the marguerita pizza which was AMAZING. They import their 00 flour from Naples and boy was it worth the trek. The crust was beautifully soft. The combination of mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and EVOO made me feel like I was back in Italy! The atmosphere really added to the experience too - it was dim, cozy, and romantic! My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that our waiter disregarded my serious nut allergy. "A-OK" summarizes my experience tonight fairly well. Came in Sunday 7pm with a small group and was seated immediately inside. The layout/seating is interesting - place is dimly lit so more of a romantic vibe. Most of the seats are wooden chairs so that could be uncomfortable for some (bothered a friend of mine). The pizzas are thin crust and made in wood ovens. I ordered the Margherita pizza ($20) and found it to be roughly the same quality as Goodfella's in Streetsville. It was a bit bland and I tasted the crust/dough more than any tomato sauce or cheese. I'll note that a friend ordered a lobster pasta and the portion was much smaller than we anticipated - the dish looked like an appetizer. She did say it tasted great though. read more

Star rating is based on the pizza crust. This is the closest you will find to a true Naples style crust. The ingredients in the various pizzas are decidedly North American but that's not a bad thing. We spoke to the pizza chef and it tuns out that he I from just outside Naples ( by Pompeii) an has been here for 6 months. The ambience is very cozy with the low ceilings and open fireplaces. Obviously the wood-fire pizza oven adds to the charm. It seems more of a Fall/Winter place than a spring/summer. The room was full (Saturday nite) and the tables looked pretty tight but that wasn't an issue as we sat at the "chefs table" to watch the preparation prior to deciding what to order. The staff seemed eager to help and more than once popped by to asked if everything was okay. I've been a loyal fan of this place since it opened, so it pains me deeply to say that I agree with the lacklustre reviews of late. I drove over an hour to get there tonight (from Holland Landing) and incurred tolls because that's how loyal I am, even though I now live far away. No matter where I've lived in Ontario (from Toronto to Niagara) I have always made the trek and stayed regular. Tonight, I brought someone who's never been before and is visiting from outside the country. This was meant to be a special occasion, as I'm moving out of the province and this was very likely my last time eating here. It's a Saturday night. The website (and the host at the door) say open till midnight. The website (and host at the door) say the kitchen stops serving an hour before closing. Simple math tells you the kitchen then closes at 11pm. I even made a point of acknowledging the slow night with the host (we were the only patrons inside when we arrived at 10pm sharp). He assured us they were open till midnight. Kitchen at 11. We ordered a first round of pizza, intent on ordering more after. Imagine our surprise when, at 10:30 we attempted to order more, only to learn that the kitchen was already closed and the staff had already left. Absolutely floored! Experience ruined! This is the kind of place where ordering a few pizzas and sharing is fun to do. Now, I get that some places close up the kitchen early on a slow night. Fair. This wouldn't be the first place to do so... but it is absolutely the first establishment in all my 40 years to be totally disrespectful of the patrons who are present. How hard would it have been to approach us and politely ask if there's anything else we'd like, because the kitchen is going to close early? Even the crappiest of pubs knows to do that. Why would you take our order, serve the pizza, and then not come back until you assume we want the bill? What happened to checking in and asking how the food is? Asking if we want more water? Up sell!! We were poised to spend upwards of $150.00 on pizzas for the table tonight, and another $100.00-$150.00 more to bring home and freeze since this was my last visit... That is, unless I visit family in Ontario in near the future. Sadly, I will not go out of my way during those future visits. How can I? The kitchen changes their hours arbitrarily, with zero warning to the patrons as they enter -- and more importantly while they're already paying customers. Instead of a $300.00 bill tonight, they made $68.00. Pathetic. Especially given the slow night. You'd think they'd want to make as much as possible. Alas, they didn't even try. It's not that hard to check on a table and see if they want anything else. And given that we were the only patrons tonight, it's not like they were too busy to get around to us. On a Thursday night this place was pretty busy. Service is friendly and feels genuine which goes a long way to make you feel like they care about making you happy. A nice selection of apps, big pizza list, and some pasta and fish and meat. I loved the charcuterie board. The prosciutto wrapped figs were great as was the great selection of cheeses and meats. I ordered the roasted fish daily special which was good with a charred lemon to squeeze on top. The sides of roasted brussel sprouts and potatoes were simple and plain. It was average Italian food, and a bit over priced compared to other downtown Italian restaurants like Terroni's etc... The decor and restaurant was nice, good place for a date night. I guess I'm gonna go against the common opinions here and say that I was not terribly impressed. At all. Me and the GF strolled in around 8pm on a weeknight and were pretty excited to try the place. I've eaten a fair share of wood fired pizzas in my day and it's definitely one of my favorite things. This place does a very good job on the pizzas and if I was reviewing ONLY the pizza I'd give it 4 stars. Unfortunately, for reasons I cannot understand, they hired an incredibly pretentious and rude male head bartender slash server whom I'd personally like to punch in the face. We get seated at a crappy table right near the kitchen doors and wine rack which we did not complain about and tried to be positive about it because it gave one of us a view of the pizza makers and pizza ovens which was fine. It wasn't until the idiot behind the bar came to take our order that it all went downhill. I ordered a beer for myself , and since my girlfriend was driving and it was a hot day she decided to only ask for ice water. This male bartender clearly couldn't get it through his thick skull because he was almost to the point of trying to force my GF to order an alcoholic beverage. We asked for ice water, he asked us if we were sure. Are you kidding me? Of course I'm sure. He comes back with my beer and her water and AGAIN tells her to please consider trying something else. It made her so uncomfortable she ordered a beer just to please this guy which I ended up drinking 3 quarters of. I should mention they only have 2 kinds of beer: Birra Moretti and some weird looking aged beer out of the wine cellar he desperately tried to up sell us. No chance buddy. When he comes around to get our food order, I mention we are just going to split one of their spicy shrimp appetizers and AGAIN he tries to push her into ordering something for herself. I remind him that one app is fine for us to split and this guy has the nerve to almost roll his eyes and sigh under his breath as if we are a bunch of cheap riff raff or something. He is honestly lucky he caught me on a forgiving day because anybody who knows me knows I have a short fuse for this stuff. I would not hesitate to ask him if he's got some kind of problem with us but I held my tongue. App comes out , it's 3 average sized shrimps (probably 7-10 count in shrimp sizes) that are tasty but definitely not worth anywhere near the $14.99 price tag. Pizzas were pretty great, good char and a good chew to the crust , and delivered by the pizza maker himself which was a nice touch and was 20 times more friendly than the jackass who served us all night. I ordered the traditional margherita (my all time favorite) and the GF ordered the 4-mushroom pizza. We each split them and were thoroughly enjoyed by both of us. Ordered a tira misu for desert served in a mason jar which was so so. Nothing special. Server comes and drops our bill on the table without so much as asking us how the food was or telling us his name or anything at all Being a good sport I politely paid and we left but I can't help but stress this guy is lucky he caught me on a good day. Pretty disappointing, I couldn't remember the name of the pizza place my dad had recommended. Turned out it was directly across from this one. It's got a very different look and layout inside, a bit dark and unfriendly to tall people! Interesting none the less. The best part of the experience was that the waiter was really very nice and attentive. I kind of felt bad for him because I was hangry lol and there were like no veggie options. We ended up getting a pizza without the meat (note this doesn't change the price, so you are paying extra for meat you're not having). The pizza was 24 plus tax. It looked amazing and tasted... SO bland!! It had cherry tomatoes, cheese, garlic and arugula. All I could taste was the tart tomatoes, the crust was soggy in the middle within five minutes and the outside was so chewy I couldn't cut through it with the heavy duty knife they give you. I haven't gone to the other place yet but one can only assume it will be better than this! So if you're torn between the two maybe this will help make the choice easier. read more

4.5 Stars VIBE I went here for a friend's birthday party and I must say, I wish there was a restaurant like it in Toronto (but know I'd probably never get a seat there. Let's liken this to Enoteca Sociale). Vivek's review is spot on. It's a signage is subtle and I will copy and paste his direction which helped me immensely: It's on the east side of Town Square, closeby Soontorn Bahn Thai and the Green Beanery. Look for the number 7 on the door handles. The decor in here is gorgeous. Amazing Italian tiling, marble counters with cowhide underneath and a pop of comfortable orange chairs at the bar. I love how you can sit at the other counter in the back and watch the guys make pizza (and a few women were flirting with the Ed Hardy-wielding-pizza-dough-making guy in the back. They were a bit snarky when they saw me taking a photo. Please. It's like they had never seen someone take a photo in a restaurant before like I was an alien. SIT DOWN.) The staff in here are ahem, easy on the eyes. That said, I felt like they were a bit tad serious but our table was one of thirteen and for a place that is as small and intimate as this not suitable. I'm glad I got to experience but I would never, ever take a group of more than four here unless you are prepared to have a three to four hour meal. Even so, because of the wait and the fact that we were pretty much taking up one quarter of the restaurant we were ushered over to the bar before our bill came. It was a bit of a mess and although we had no problems and understood the situation, it was a bit awkward purely because of the smallness of the place. On top of that, their POS doesn't divide bills so it was very disorganized at the end of the night. Unfortunately, my friend got double billed which was disappointing since she left such a big tip for the great job that they did. That said with the crowds that they were dealing with and our large group, they did a phenomenal job and the food never suffered. But because of a crowded and busy Saturday night, we didn't get as much attention as we would have liked. But if you are not patient, do not come here because you will need it! I ATE A lot of us got a few of the same items and to spare you this long review, I'll cover what I had and other highlights of tastes. IN the appetizer category. the octopus was divine. I could have sopped up that sauce all night. Delish! My friend had the shrimp and it was well cooked. They're not huge portions but nice to share with friends. Rapini was a side and not as spicy as I anticipated. Great compliment to our pizza. As advised, I ordered the Matteo pizza. I'd hate to say it but this pizza knocks Pizzeria Libretto off the pizza map and purely because of the crust. They have the thin vs crispy and not too floury crust DOWN. It's like a SIT DOWN mention to the pizzerias in Toronto. They know what they're doing. The portion of prosciutto on the 'za was very generous and to add marscapone cheese for a bit of a sweet kick amongst the salty? Please. Bestill my heart. But 0.2 points knocked off to the guy wearing the Ed Hardy T-shirt. WE DRANK The Syrah for $10 is labelled light, but it had tons of flavour and was great value. I also had the Montepulciano and it was fantastic but honestly, I think I preferred the Syrah! They don't have a cocktail list yet and they're working on it. OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK Don't go here with a big group. They don't take reservations either (we were lucky and informed them in advance we would be coming regardless). Otherwise, a full five stars for a date place or at the pizza counter in the back with a few friends. It is the perfect third date place. Go early on a weekend. It fills up fast. We came by for dinner on Friday and expected the wait because they do not accept reservations. We waited for about 20 minutes when the hostess asked if we'd like to sit by the bar while we wait. We ordered two drinks and witness a whole lot of unprofessionalism. When the bartender was taking our order, another server rushed over and started barking at the bartender and the bartender immediately snapped and said "can't you see I'm with customers?" with his hand inches away from the server's face. After placing our order, the bartender drops a bottle and breaks a glass and was completely not put together. We waited 10 minutes and didn't get our drinks but was seated at a table. The server who sat us didn't ask us if we ordered a drink so we thought our server would. We sat at our table for 15 minutes without a server because no one knew who was responsible for our table. Finally, someone asked us if we ordered drinks at the bar and said she'll bring it over. Our server (same one who barked at the bartender earlier) brought our drinks over but it was so watery because it has been sitting at the bar melting. We asked our server to make a fresh one which he did and brought over within a few minutes. We ordered the funghi pizza and veal ravioli which were both incredibly underwhelming. The funghi had so little mushroom and the onion was such an odd choice. I think if they caramelized the onion, it would bring much nicer flavours to compliment the lack of mushrooms. The veal ravioli was literally 4 pieces of tiny ravioli for $28 but the walnuts added a nice texture/touch. The price for the food, definitely not worth it. Our server was so unprofessional. He kept addressing us as "guys", "so guys" and "okay guys". We even had to ask him for water. At one point, a wall decor fell down because he ran into it and hit someone, he quickly shoved it back in the wall and acted like nothing happened. I think he should have placed it away and fixed it at the end of the night to ensure it doesn't happen again. We asked for our bill and waited 5 minutes for it. At this point, we wanted to just get out. He brings the bill over and doesn't even come back to check on us. Another server came by and kindly help us check out and even asked if everything was okay. We told him the food was subpar and we lost our server. We do not recommend this place nor will we return. There are better wood fire pizza out there. read more
