What was the most helpful that he called my insurer while I was on the phone with him. My insurer told me that the crack had to be larger than a silver dollar to cover replacement. They went on to say that Blue Chip was not a partner of their insurance company. I asked the insurer if that meant that they wouldn't cover the windshield if Blue Chip replaced it. John promptly jumped in and told me that the windshield would be covered 100%, but that the warranty would be covered by Blue Chip rather than my insurer. I appreciated the clarification. He told me that there would be zero out of pocket cost to me. The insurer told me that the repair would be covered and John did the rest (which was literally everything). Blue Chip replaced the windshield right in my driveway, again, at no cost to me. The service tech, Dan, was on-time and went out of his way to answer my questions, like calibration of the camera. Since my vehicle was newer, it had a camera for emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, which required calibration by an authorized tech when the windshield was replaced. Blue Chip took care of that as well. Dan showed me where the camera was mounted and why it needed to be calibrated with the windshield change. Dan was professional, competent, fast and friendly. In the end, I got a shiny new windshield installed by professionals at no cost to me. I have found my permanent glass company!

I brought the vehicle back in, and they recalibrated the system again. After the second recalibration, now BOTH side mirror blind spot monitors are not working properly at all. Despite this, I continue to be told that "everything looks fine" on their systems because the calibration and testing supposedly passed. What is frustrating is that the real world performance of the vehicle clearly changed after their work was performed. Before the windshield replacement, the system worked normally. Now it does not. Instead of acknowledging the concern or helping escalate the issue, it feels like they are hiding behind their computer test results and washing their hands of the situation. I even overheard an employee mention they previously had another vehicle issue that had to be sent to an outside company to correct, which makes this even more concerning. I understand mistakes and complications can happen with modern ADAS systems. My frustration is with the lack of accountability and customer care when a customer raises legitimate safety concerns. Very disappointing experience.
