These people are scammers. I took my bmw here after a fender bender. Seems like a simple bumper repair right? Wrong. They give me my quote and I drop my car off they anticipate it taking about 2 weeks to finish cool. I call them asking for updates after it had been almost a month and they tell me that the OEM headlights that they ordered came in broken and were on back order until December. So they recommend after market headlights as this was in September when they told me. I don't get headlights on my car that came in for a broken bumper for 3 months! Then I get my car back and everything seems fine until i notice there's a water leak in my headlights and then one of my bulbs goes out. I go to change my bulbs and messed with the conversion kit and got the wrong bulbs so i go back to carstar for them to tell me which ones i need to get. They tell me and I order them mind you they are of no help at all getting this fixed they told me they would reach out if it gets approved to fix by insurance and they never reached out I had to call them 2 weeks later after not having headlights for a months and zero help from these people. So i ordered the kit and put it in the car myself very simple unlike what Mike was saying about how complicated it is. Fast forward to about a week ago one of my headlights goes out again and at this point Im convinced it's because they didn't put the headlights assembly in correctly. As the bulbs haven't even been in a month and my headlights fog up anytime the car gets washed or is in rain. I decided to look at my invoice from them and do some research turns out these people never ordered the OEM bmw headlights and still charged it to the invoice along with lying to me for months about what is going on with my car saying that the headlights came in broken and were on back order since my car is 'rare' when they never even ordered it in the first place. These headlights cost $900 per headlight. I called the bmw shop they said they it from on the invoice and they hadn't sold the part since 2022! At the very bottom of the invoice they charged me $165 for aftermarket headlights and conversion kit in the miscellaneous repairs. These people are scammers and idiots that don't know how to work on cars take your business elsewhere unless you want them to use you to commit fraud along with holding your vehicle for 3 months! Horrible service from these people and also since my car sat in their shop for 3 months on a lie my starter went out and that was a nice extra $500 for something that wouldn't have happened at a body shop that's going to charge an arm and a leg for a simple repair you can do in your garage had they actually done their job. read more

He was professional, knowledgeable, and immediately understood exactly what was needed. He gave an accurate estimate for both repair time and cost--and it ended up being spot on. I can't begin to tell you how much I love this place! They have been nothing but the best to me. I had some major auto repair done by Addison and his team two years ago and they did a terrific job. They didn't do the work that they claimed they would do and they then tried to return it with new damage. They ultimately returned the money that was paid to them but this was after I lost 4 day of using my car. I don't have the luxury of missing work nor do I have the money to pay for Ubers or taxis. I'm back at square 1. The manager was rude at best!!! There is NO room in the service industry for a manger who talks down to his customers and won't even let them voice their complaint. I took pictures and can verify everything written in this review. If you decide to use them 1. Take pictures of your car. 2. Make them write everything down on the estimate, do not take their word for anything. I will never use them again. I now have to get my car fixed the correct way. We wish we had the same experience as some of the other reviewers, unfortunately we did not. We brought our vehicle in for an estimate after recommendation from our insurance company, that should have been the first flag! We did receive the first estimate which was approved by the insurance company and after ordering parts, the work on the vehicle was supposedly being started. We were given a two week completion time. Midway into the repairs we reached out to Mike Koppien at CarStar to get status of the repairs and he informed us that there were preexisting conditions of which they informed the insurance company four days prior to our phone call. CarStar did not reach out to us at all to make us aware of their findings before calling the insurance company. At that time we requested a copy of the new estimate for repairs which they did not want to provide to us. We reached out to the inspector / adjuster and asked for a copy of the new estimate as he had received it days in advance. We agreed to meet at the shop and review the estimate together which he hand delivered to us. During the review of the estimate we noticed a $2500 charge to replace the complete exhaust system which he agreed at the time did not really need to be replaced as it was not damaged. We only learned after the insurance company totaled the vehicle that they reduced the cash value of the vehicle by $2500 and maybe more as some of the other items we could not distinguish. We did ask for a second opinion from a different adjuster to which the insurance company responded that the first individual was the sole adjuster for the area. In short, we feel that CarStar assisted the insurance company in cheating us out funds from the total loss of our vehicle and collaborated with them as they would not keep us in the loop at any stage of this incident. Please learn from our mistake and find yourself an auto collision shop, do not rely on your insurance company for suggestions as this collision shop and the insurer stole our vehicle from under our noses. I elected to take it to Carstar since it was one of the State Farm Select Service collision repair shops in the area and because of the outstanding customer reviews on Yelp. I was not disappointed. Grant, whose business card lists him as an Estimator, was with me every step of the process. He welcomed me to the business, examined my car, discussed repair issues with me, and arranged a time for drop off and pick up since I was going put of town on vacation. I dropped my car off, went on my trip, and picked the car up when I returned. The car looks good as new! The body work was done and the car was thoroughly washed and cleaned and ready to go. Grant texted me during the process to make sure I was informed of progress. He was excellent! I depend on Yelp reviews when having to deal with choosing between unfamiliar businesses. Unfortunately I was rear ended in January, and the insurance provider for the other driver listed CARSTAR as one of their preferred repair services. I was a little hesitant to not choose my own collision repair, but CARSTAR and Patty proved me wrong. Start to finish, Patty and CARSTAR were wonderful about communication, professionalism, quality of work, time, and overall customer care. They basically took care of EVERYTHING, did exactly what they said they would do, and did it in about half the time. I came into this shop hoping to get my car repaired after unfortunate three car accident. I did not realize I would be speaking/working with the owner of the shop directly the moment I walked into the shop. I was hopeful that I would be able to walk into repair shop and receive same day service. I was greeted by the owner - Addison whom walked me outside to my car immediately and inspected the damages. Worst experience I've ever had with a bodyshop. Didn't put the truck bed cover on correctly, only noticed when I picked it up and had to wait for them to fix it. Lost my cover knob that holds it up. At the kicker, they failed THREE TIMES at the simple task of putting my RAM badge on. The 1st time the decal guy couldn't install because they put it in wrong spot so had to wait to get another then had to go out of my way to have them attempt 2nd time and didn't even measure where it should go and misplaced it again by an inch and and half (even after I gave them a template the decal guy said for them to use) , then cut badge into 3 letters and used too thick tape so wasn't sealed against paint like one on other side, AND missed measurements again, so finally had to order a THIRD badge and pro decal guy came out and installed perfectly in 5 minutes. If your looking for a shop that is professional, pays attention to detail, uses measurements when needed and does not waste your time (took well over 2 months), this is not the shop for you. read more

My car had a small fender bender and in Sept 2019 I had the right rear bumper and fender fixed/painted by Carstar in Sunrise Florida. Since the rest of my 2013 Camaro had superficial scratches, I decided to pay out of pocket to get the rest of the car clear coated so everything looked the same. Gotta love having OCD right ? Since then the clear coat is peeling off. The Carstar shop that did the work is permanently closed . I have called Carstar corporate 18 times in two weeks but they don't answer and the voicemail is full. I found another Carstar shop locally and they said they can't help me without a receipt. I said I have the receipt. they made an appt for me to see it this week (5/2022). They looked at it and told me that I probably didn't pay for the clearcoat on the hood since it had stripes. I told them the stripes were taken off Heard- ago. Then they said that since I didn't have pics this might not be approved. I called Allstate who provided me the pics from 2019. Now they are saying that I can't prove that Carstar is the one the did the clearcoat on those two parts of my car that are peeling. I have the receipt and photos from 2019. they said the invoice doesn't show those two parts (hood and trunk). The guy was honest and said whoever did the clear coat didn't prep the surface of old pinstripe adhesive. I know Carstar did the hood and trunk clearcoat because Amber at the body shop called me when they were doing it in 2019 and said the paint underneath would look ghosted because I had prior racing stripes that were taken off years before due to sun damage (Florida sun is intense). The paint under the stripes was less sun faded. I told her that was fine and do the clear coat anyway. Now it looks like shit and Carstar can't be bothered. Sad part is , it's a $700 job.... It's not about the money. It's the principle. It's a 3 yr old clearcoat garage kept car and it's peeling off. read more
