I brought my truck here for transmission . They did a horrible job. Got the truck back after 6 weeks and it was not shifting correctly, it was going into limp mode, un-drivable and also leaking transmission fluid badly. Long story short I took the truck back in several times trying to correct the problems, each time it was there for weeks at a time and they shipped the truck off to some other location each time as well and would not tell me where it was. each time it came back with new scratches, filthy inside and still not correctly fixed. They kept telling me how "complicated" this transmission was and claiming that the TCM was no good and supposedly replaced that a few times claiming each time they received a bad part again....it was an absurd nightmare. finally they seemed to have it fixed, it lasted about a month then started slipping again pretty frequently, since the check engine light was not coming on I was told there was nothing wrong and to "just drive it like that" I did not want to take it in again so I did just drive it like that for almost 3 years slipping between 3rd and 4th consistently. It finally fully broke again.It was still under their warranty but my experience with them was so bad and I was so tired of not having a correctly working transmission that I went out of pocket and payed another shop to do the work (cost me $7200) somehow the new place was able to do the work in less than a week , replaced the broken transmission and all components and everything works perfectly. Dealing with Anthem was a truly horrible experience, I do not know how this place can even be in business. Steve and his wife come off as friendly at first but the second anything goes wrong or you DARE to call and check in on your vehicle that has been there for weeks or months the shitty attitude shows up, dismissive , talk over you , dont listen, pretend to completely forget who you are...you name it. They should not own a business, they do not have integrity and should have never ever allowed me to go thru such an ordeal. I am glad it is over and will never go there again. read more

When we first moved to Phoenix in 2012, I asked a neighbor where was a good place to get our cars fixed and he recommended anthem auto. My family has been using their services ever since I trust them implicitly. Steve and Leslie and their employees have always been straightforward honest extremely helpful, kind supportive I consider them friends. I am so grateful for our neighbor recommending them and so grateful to Anthem auto for all the service and friendship that they have given my family. I cannot fathom the attitude of those few who have entered negative reviews those are not the people that I have dealt with that they're referring to sounds like some very rotten eggs going on. I feel for the gentleman with the problem with the car that had the bad registration that got towed, but there's more going on there. I feel certain at any rate, my experiences, and those of all of my family who have used Anthem Auto have always been positive, even when the problem was difficult and required more than one visit which sometimes happens with auto repair, but please consider using Anthem auto. We went to Anthem Automotive looking for a radio antenna base replacement. It's was a little unclear as to why parts weren't available for the 2 weeks we waited. They eventually told us to go to a car dealership as they couldn't get the parts. Instead we searched online and ordered an antenna base on the internet ourselves . This place has horrible service, bad communication, and didn't even fix the problem with my car. I brought my Honda in for a repair after going to two other places I was doubtful that these guys would be able to fix it. Brought my car in and after a week I hear the first response from them telling me the "problems" with my car and saying they fixed it. I show up to the place with my car sitting out front and I try to start it and the car doesn't work. They bring it around back saying something was unplugged by another mechanic and left there. Two weeks later and two more attempts at this place and my car still doesn't work and they unplugged my A/C, radio, and, security system claiming it was aftermarket and was the source of my problem. I may not be very knowledgeable about cars but I know for a fact that my car is in way worse condition after going to Anthem Automotive and it still doesn't drive ‍. read more

My A.C. and Heater stopped working, and I thought that I still had a bit of my Warrenty left for certain repairs. It turns out that I did NOT, which means that I would have to pay for the Diagnostic also, but the owner, Leslie, sensed that I was under a tremendous amount of stress while trying to get my Cooling/Heating System taken care of without my husband being present. Leslie waved the fee, and even ordered the part without any deposit! As a woman, it can be difficult trusting a shop and not feeling like you are being ripped off, so it was truly a blessing having a woman in the office to take care of me and my Buick Verano. This shop treats their customers with a Small Town feel, and takes care of there staff like they are family. Limped my motorhome in with apparent fuel problems- wouldn't pull hills, then got progressively weaker. Mechanic took it back and came back out 15 minutes later saying the gas was bad in it. I told him I just filled it from an eight tank and it had run well for 30 miles since the fill up, but he said I needed to take it to a hazmat place to get it drained (55 gallons... Yeah, right.) I took it around the corner to another garage (Apex) where they jacked it up, found a clogged filter and a corroded distributor cap. They even replaced some crispy vacuum lines for no charge. It ran beautifully after that. It seems to me Anthem shoots from the hip without adequate diagnostics. Since another garage was able to fix it, it is obvious their diagnosis was wrong. read more

Me & a friend came here 5 or more times for a rear window that they didn't know how to fix for some reason. Every time he would tell us the car is ready & the window is working which to be fair it was, but after a couple days, every single time, the window just stops & we bring it in to repeat the same process. Will not be going here no more for any repairs. Mechanic told us he replaced window with new parts just for it to break 3 days later. Absolute joke. read more

Went the Anthem after being told about from a friend. I was reacting to a horrible sound in my car that should have been seen a month ago. They were great with the intake, super quick and took down my info. They were very accommodating with my schedule and I was able to pay over the phone and have them lock my car up so I could pick up my car after hours. Finally a Mechanic I can trust!! I went to several different companies to get estimates on struts for my jeep. I started off by going to the known chain companies and the prices were outrageous. Steve's quote was hundreds of dollars less than all of the others. It was also cool to see all the custom classic cars at this shop to. This husband-and-wife team is awesome. Having owned a transmission repair shop for 5 years with my ex-husband I know what it takes to make a business work and they've got it going on. After researching for a AAA recommended shop I took my vehicle into an automotive shop and was told it was going to be $250 to diagnose my issues. I was then recommended to this establishment which just moved to a new location. They took my car in diagnosed it and fixed it within 48 hours. It wasn't cheap but they stand behind their work for a year so I feel like I made the best decision by going to Anthem Automotive. Best place. Beyond honest. I don't anything about car repairs but we got a quote from another place saying my husbands truck needed $8000 of work. Steve looked at it said no maybe $3000 he got in there and it needed $800 worth of work. He could have easily just said he had to do the big repair and we would have never known but he is honest and cares about his customers. Our entire family now goes there he take very good care of us. I cannot say enough good things about this shop. I took my GMC Envoy in for several repairs and maintenance needs. I had already been to the dealer for estimates on the work, and was anticipating the worst. The owner Steve instantly made me feel at ease- his honest approach and competitive pricing were such a relief!! He also recommended other service that would be needed in the near future, but was honest that they could wait and didn't try to "scare" me into getting it done that day (the approach of most shops). Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. We should have known after the first time we brought our restored truck to Anthem Automotive and found a screwdriver in the engine bay, not to go back. But, unfortunately for us, we did. My husband is currently sitting on the side of the road, 6 miles from Anthem Automotive, waiting for a tow truck. The brakes seized up after the owner assured us they had been fixed and he had test drove it. Shame on me for giving Anthem Automotive more money and more of my business.
