I am relieved and extremely grateful that I found Lowery's Garage. John is the owner and is a strait laced, honest, principled person that treats customers with the utmost respect. For an issue I was quoted $5800 by a Ford dealership, John did that job as well as a couple other and only charged me a little under $3,000. They are so busy that they usually like to schedule out a couple weeks. However, in an emergency where my truck broke down and I needed it fixed ASAP, he had me tow it over the same day and had it completely fixed just a day or two later. I have been taking my vehicle to Lowery's Garage for service for the last 3-4 years and I can't say enough good things about John, Harley and the whole crew. While the dealerships rob you blind changing filters, fluids, belts and hoses, Lowery's takes the time to inspect and determine what really needs to be serviced. They also take the time to explain the reason something needs to be changed or can wait til the next time. And finally, their prices are extremely reasonable. The booking over the phone process was easy, they were pretty booked up but I didn't mind. The lady at the front desk was kind, personable, and easy to talk to. I went to Lowerys to have my wheel bearing replaced. they got it done for a reasonable price. On my drive home my car was driving weird and some light I never seen popped up on my dashboard. I called them back and they told me turn around and come back. they were closing soon but John still took the time to identify they had a malfunctioned part. they went and got me another one and fixed it right away!! I had written a better review before I deleted my previous account. That being said they don't fix what ain't broke. Finding a mechanic that you can depend on and is honest can be hard to find in a large city. I've been there twice only for an oil change. I barely drive and my car is a 2004. They've been honest and only do the work that is needed. In addition I got to experience something first hand that was really telling. A rep came in while I was waiting for my car that offers financing for customers. Basically one of these really shady places that charges a massive amount of interest and gives incentives to the shop for using them. Gross. Predatory. Disgusting. Basically the woman's response was gtfo though much more professional. She said we have customers who come in who cannot afford needed repairs because they are already in a financial bind and you think we're going to sign them up for something that is going to cost them even more that they likely can't pay? Just because it benefits us? I can't remember what the interest was that the guy said but it was something astronomical. This guy was the epitome of predatory lending tactics using people in need. I am a 62 year old female and live on disability. I also work part time as a house/pet sitter. I've lived in Arizona my whole life. All of my life I've had various mechanics work on my cars, some of which have really ripped me off. So this time I went on Yelp to look for the best mechanics in my area. Lowery's garage was one of the best with 69 reviews, all of which were 5 stars. The reviews talked about the honesty of the owner, John. My car issues were overheating, a constant smell of gasoline and a bad AC compressor. I called John at Lowery's and though he was incredibly busy he said he could look at my car. It turned out that the car had overheated only because the water in the radiator was low. ( My bad.) And the constant smell of gasoline was a bad leak that was pooling. Yikes! It needed a new Fuel pump assembly and serpentine belt. John replaced the AC compressor for $450 less than what Cactus Imports had quoted me which is where I've gone in the past for repairs. And the Fuel pump assembly and belt were replaced at an excellent price as well. I was very pleased and knew that I hadn't gotten lied to or taken advantage of this time just because I'm a woman. the response time was very quick they are very direct and guaranteed their work.. John's wife has owned a couple Jeeps so I felt comfortable with him working on my Jeep he replaced my clutch the whole clutch kit it shifts amazing and I couldn't be happier.. the price was what I was expecting.. wasn't too low wasn't too high it was an average price.. but the guys were very cool with me and they told me 2 weeks and he got it done in 4 days.. so I was even more happier.. cuz I was driving my grandson's little lowrider car haha! Helped me out when I failed emissions inspection because they couldn't get a reading form my plug in. Lowerys knew just what it was and fixed it it pronto. Wow, talk about honesty and integrity, John's got both!! Took our daughter's '05 RAV4 in for an oil change, got that done with a full inspection for right around $30, half what I've been paying anywhere else. At which time he told my husband the water pump was leaking and would have to be replaced before long - no pressure, no scare tactics. Made an appointment to get it replaced, he ordered the part and got it in quickly. With the part and over a half day's worth of labor, out the door for $273. Then her air conditioning wasn't blowing cold air, got in the next morning, new cabin air filter and AC service for $160. An hour and a half later it was blowing icy cold air. My turn - my '07 RAV4 had started making noise from the brakes. I thought, oh great here comes another $1200 (minimum) brake job - no, John found a part in the brakes that was out of alignment and adjusted it, told my husband the brake pads were in great shape, lots of life left. No more squeak, and he charged us nothing, not even for labor, $0!! Awesome experiences, unbelievable compared to almost all other mechanics. We have yet to need to take my husband's '08 4Runner in, but it will be going there sooner than later. If you're noticing a theme, we like to drive our Toyotas until we can't anymore, and John is making that possible with garage bills that are as reasonable as I've ever seen. My husband and I broke down up the road and towed it here right before they closed and they were kind enough to take a look at it right away and john even took the time to talk to us over the phone to see if he could diagnose the problem. Sometimes they don't have openings right away but when possible we always wait to take our vehicles here because this is the one mechanic that is reasonable, honest, and doesn't try to take advantage of you. I took my car to Lowery's initially because my ac went out. John and his wife were able to get my car in quickly and take a look around the whole car to determine it's issues. When they were finished I was informed of a much more serious issue, my water pump was leaking! John said he could fix it for a fair price and they were very efficient about it, I had my car back in less than 24 hours with out any fear of the car having any major issues. Lowery's is very efficient and fair in their pricing. They also take the time to explain what is wrong with the vehicle and what they need to do to fix it.
