Bathroom was clean, waiting area was clean. Service was good and good workers very polite and helpful. These guys are totally awesome. I thought my serpentine belt needed to be replaced so I came in as a walk in without an appointment. Upon inspection, they told me my serpentine belt was 100% ok and didn't need to replace it. They did discover that I had an oil leak and they gave me a quote for the replacement part and labor. It was a very reasonable price so I accepted and they started work on it. These guys will NOT upsell you, these guys will NOT perform unnecessary work on your car. This is a very ethical and professional business model and I am now a Grease Monkey customer for life. I was a few miles away from being due for an oil change and thankfully they took me last minute at 5:28 to service my car. They also charged WAY less than the place down the road! I don't know too much about this stuff but he was friendly, didn't over charge me or take advantage of me not knowing what I needed. I left a previous review because of the awful customer service I received at their Bell Rd. Location. So I decided to called their sister store at 3838 E. Thunderbird Rd. Location and spoke with Gavin. What a great guy. Offered to look at the car free of charge and the next day he did. Turns out the AC repair is more than the car is worth so I passed and as I was wrapping up an employee by the name of Christine intervened to let me know she didn't appreciate the comments I left on Yelp about her awful employees at their 17th ave and Bell location, too bad, so sad, and I did apologized for my behavior and got no such apology from her about her employees behavior even though she watched the video and could clearly see how rude her employees were just excuses why her employees have to be combative with customers at that location. Christine called my neighborhood an awful area and instead of taking responsibility for her employees poor customer service training she further double downed by saying they have to deal with constantly rude customers as if thats a reason to treat all customers who walk into that store as lesser than and deserving of their wrath. Yikes! She told me their employees are instructed to show customers the door if their non compliant with their employees sensibilities. Lol. Or in other words when their feelings are hurt. Lord. So at any rate she offered to let me speak with Thad. I guess he's the king of that castle. They took my phone number down and said he would be in contact in short order, NOT!! I never received one call from the "Owner" Thad which just solidified my assertion that employee issues run down hill from the top. I do have voicemail guys/girls. I will never patronize another Grease Monkey location as long as this sort of behavior is permitted by the grease monkey corporation by its franchisees. In the end I don't like having to complain like this. I apologized for my behavior and they obfuscated their role in de-escalating the situation by piling on. Shame on me for being so upset but shame on this grease monkey franchise for not following through with their mission statement of providing awesome customer service. The service staff was nice and apologetic. However, it didn't really make up for a 2 hour oil change. I understand sometimes things go wrong but at some point it's good to know when to stop and refer a customer back to the dealership. I wanted to go to a new shop to avoid dealership prices but ended up paying the same due to the issue. Again, apologetic staff but apologies only go so far after a 30 minute quote time. read more

Thanks to Thad and the crew at the Grease Monkey on Bell for making my first AZ automotive experience a good one! I've had the same mechanic for about 30 years (a family owned & operated shop in WA), and the thought of going somewhere else petrified me. I really needed an oil change and tire rotation and chose Grease Monkey on Bell based on Google & Yelp reviews. I was greeted right away, explained what my needs were, and Thad did his best to reassure me that I would be well taken care of, they would show me all parts before replacing, and would not try to upsell me. He also said they have bays in back with mechanics to do other work when I need it. I did need a few other things (rear brake light, wiper blades, cabin filter) and each time someone came in to get my approval. I had no idea my wiper blades would shred in the heat! If it's raining, I'm more likely to be standing outside letting it hit me in the face than going for a drive. They were very patient in getting me every discount they could. Coupon codes from the website AND a senior discount! In and out in less than an hour, including wait time to get my car in the bay. The website did mention a carwash, which they don't have at this location, but that was not a deal breaker at all. I came here because I felt that I had battery problems with my car. I came over here and although they were super friendly, they told me my battery had zero issues. The very next day, my car wouldn't start when I was going to the gym. I was stuck in an Auto Zone for 4 hours because my battery had died and needed it replaced. I was visiting Phoenix when my oil change light popped up during Memorial day weekend. I found Grease Monkey pretty fast on Yelp and gave them a call to see if an oil change was possible since it was Sunday. I dropped by and paid about $70 for their premium synthetic option that came with a checklist of little things done in my car. They were super fast about it too. Maybe under an hour even though there were 2-3 cars ahead of my car. In the meantime, they had a little waiting area with free drinks. Went for an Oil Change asked for AC Check and service. You Guys Told me , after charging my Car that you said was Just lil Low you told me the probably is really the cooling fan assembly and would be another $700. Not sure why i was charged for AC Service. I took my Car to a AC Guy would ran diagnostics and told me Yes the Fan is Out , No they didnt add Freon it only has 8oz in the system, which is not leaking. My Ac didn't even work at all after leaving your place and you forgot to put my caps back on the freon Lines. My Assuming you you plan old forgot to add the freon or when you saw the fan was out you stopped and forgot. The Professionalism is super lacking in the Mech Shop at your Bell Road Location. Around 8:15 this morning, went to get an oil change for my MB. Went to get out of the vehicle when a worker approached me, startling me at first. You would think he would have at least said good morning, but that was not the case. In my opinion, the only color should have mattered was green. Now he can't even get that. Have me feeling some sort of way. It appears ethnicity plays a major role with this establishment, so if you're a person of color, let me save you time and aggravation, go to German Auto, at least they treat you with dignity and respect. read more

Coming here from Michigan where I typically call to get quotes at numerous auto places before going and having a large abundance of mechanics available to the valley were there isn't. I find the employees at Grease Monkey trustworthy, experienced and they have excellent customer service. From when I first called to get a quote to how fast they completed my car (estimated 1.5 hours and only took 40 minutes) I was impressed. The BEST part is they do not pressure you or push you into doing work that you DO NOT NEED done. This is the worst part of most mechanic shops. This is my second time here. The first time was to have my brakes checked. They had just changed ownership and were getting things up and running. They took care of the brakes quick and for a good price. They had a clean waiting area with fresh coffee and cookies. The staff was courteous and didn't make me feel like they were trying to upsell me. Went back the second time for their grand opening. This time I had the oil changed. Again, fast service. Super friendly staff! When I pulled into the parking lot, I had someone immediately come out to the car and greet me with a smile. I told him I was looking for an oil change and had some other light up on my dash. He checked the light and assured me it only meant I needed air in my tire. Inside is quite small- likely very typical for the chain. With Covid, there was no way to do social distancing...! Overall, it took an hour... longer than I was told and had anticipated. Cost $80 to get the 7,000 mile change oil which is what I wanted though cheaper options were available. Was quoted $335 for a repair (labor & parts), which is why I chose to do business with this company. Scheduled a drop off date for my vehicle with the location on Thunderbird ave. Upon arrival, the gentleman in the shop informed me that he had no idea who I was and that he was booked solid for the next 2 weeks. I asked if he could at least see if another location could honor the time/ price. I was sent over to the location on Cave Creek rd. And they were extremely kind, but could not help me that day; I ended up being scheduled for another day at a different location (bell road). I brought my vehicle in and told them about the quote, they informed me that the Merry had misquoted me due to the fact that she didn't look at the correct part for my car.
