I came here a while back when I was having battery/brake/alternator issues and was getting mixed feedback from other mechanics. I thought I needed a new alternator and the guys at Mr. Mechanic reassured me that wasn't the case! New brakes, battery and oil change and I was good as new! As a Business Owner I'm always looking for a Company that operates following the 'Golden Rule' - treating others as you would want to be treated yourself. This Company definitely exemplifies this as they not only treat you with courtesy, respect and do great work, but they go above and beyond your expectations. I had been quoted approximately $2300 for repairing by AC system leak and AC Blower Malfunction. The leak had been an ongoing problem and my former Car Repair Source could never find a leak despite my paying each year to have it checked with a 'colored' gas, which I was told was the foolproof way to find a leak. Each year my AC would get slightly warmer as time went on and by the next Summer when I needed it, it would be blowing hot again. I would have it 'recharged' with new Coolant and the process would begin again for the following year. Finally, my AC Blower Motor went out too. I was then referred by my Business Partner to Mr. Mechanic. I was very fortunate to have found them. They not only made the repair, they found the leak immediately and without having to use the Dye Gas! They did say that it was in a harder to find place but the fact that they found the leak (that had been present for years) when the other establishment couldn't find it each time I brought it in (even using the colored gas) speaks volumes about their abilities. On top of this, once the repair was complete they let me know that they had found a way to save me some money and my total bill came in at just over $1900 saving me about $400 from what I was expecting. They could easily have charged me what the original quote was or even a little higher and I would have paid it and been none the wiser. It's just such a tremendous credit to the owner of this Company and the way that they're committed to doing business that they are so honest, honorable and competent. I've been here once before to have my moms car get some ac work done and that went well. But then when I brought my own car due to a sound occurring they recommend a differential service so I approve it and when I ask, will the noise go away, he confidently said yes so I allowed the service which was 301 dollars. I get a call later saying the rear brake pads were extremely worn however didn't specify if it was the outside or inner pads so a miscommunication there on his part. And another miscommunication with the differential service leading to him saying the transmission and differential is causing the noise. And also saying that they only did the service so the car was drivable, but the car was already drivable before the service was done. So big miscommunication I could've saved 301 dollars if they just told me the truth from the get go and I didn't really need the diff service. This week I took my BMW to a shop in Scottsdale and the diagnosis was a faulty water pump and thermostat. I tried to get it replaced under warranty there, but the owner was charging far more than they would cover. I called up Tim yesterday and he was able to quote me on a far more reasonable price and work with my insurance company to get the costs covered. This is the best mechanic experience I have had in years. Tim is honest, knowledgable and plesant to work with. I had dialed Mr. Mechanic thinking I was calling another muffler shop. Awesome mistake! Tim did a great job! After listening to my car issue, he told me what he thought it was. He then showed me his testing to prove his diagnoses was correct and gave me a quote for repair. Then walked me through the steps to fix it. Applied the fix. Then retested showing me the new results proving the check engine light P0420 for a bad catalytic converter will not come back. I went to mr mechanic, asked him to install a basic Borla exhaust system, but he told me I had to remove another piece of the pipe that's supposably only dispose to muffle the sound further. So, he a mechanic, I'm not, I asked him to do just what he needs to install correctly. After the install my car was bogging out, no power what so ever. After I asked him what happened he said oh shit. I can put your old exhaust but I'm going to have to charge you more money. Can't believe this guy... wasted my money, my time, and energy. read more

A couple weeks ago the clutch on my Mazda 3 started going out. So I looked here on yelp and called around to a couple of the higher rated shops. When I called Tim late in the afternoon (very close to closing time) he still was willing to listen and give me a quote. He was one of the few shops that gave me the time it would take and broke out the labor and parts costs. Tim ripped me off for $400 and did NOT fix my car. The day I took my car back to him to complain, another customer had come back complaining because he had charged the guy's wife $500 for a TUNE-UP, Tim gave him $200 back because he knew he ripped the guy off. He gave me $100 back and told me that's ALL he's giving me back, told ME I was being unreasonable. (UNREASONABLY IS CHARGING SOMEONE $400 AND NOT FIXING MY CAR) He still profited from both me and the other customer. He did NOTHING to my car but spray lubricant on my belts and hose off my engine to make it look as though he actually ordered NEW parts and actually put them in. HE DID NOT!! He pretended to order new parts but I was there all day and NO PARTS GUY DELIVERED ANY PARTS TO HIM THE WHOLE TIME I WAS THERE. I am disgusted by the recent service my mother received at Mr. Mechanic. On the recommendation of a friend, my mom took her vehicle to Tim to look at. Tim put her car on a lift, ran pressurized water into it, and both she and Tim quickly realized that the water pump was broken. My mom exclaimed that she was relieved that the water pump was the problem as she is able to fix that. Tim then pointed out water leaking near her engine and told her that she also needed to replace various gaskets and quoted her nearly $500.00 to do the repairs. Since she didn't have that much money and is fairly mechanically inclined herself, my mom chose to fix the problem at home. She purchased the parts Tim told her were broken and proceeded to replace them. Since my mom is older and did the job herself, this took her quite some time. After replacing the gaskets and water pump, a whole new issue erupted. Her car is now leaking oil from the spot where the water was originally coming from. She contacted several mechanics, all of whom agree, her gaskets were never a problem in the first place. The water was leaking near the engine because it was under pressure and the water pump was broken. This is something that ANY mechanic would have known. My mother has now spent countless hours and unnecessary money fixing a problem that was never there in the first place, all at the direction of this "mechanic." He was upset with the fact that she planned to fix the water pump herself and thought if he inflated the problem, she'd leave the car there for him to fix and he'd make $500.00 off of an unknowing, vulnerable woman, all while only having to replace a water pump. Because this man was dishonest with her, she now has more problems with her car than she ever has. It is despicable that he chose to lie to her and continued to claim that she needed to repair these parts even after she told him that she would not be leaving the vehicle at his shop. Don't trust your vehicle to this man and definitely do not send someone to him who will not know when he tells them something untrue about their vehicle. read more
