Mike and Romero (can't remember the third guys name) just did incredible work on our 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Two weeks ago we needed a new battery. Because it's a hybrid Mike had to shop around for a battery that would work. He found one in the area for a great price, much lower than the other batteries we were quoted other places. We also had a major leak in our A/C condenser. Mike and Romero had to remove the entire dash to get to the part and replace it. Most mechanics will not do dash removals because of how much labor it requires. Mike is professional and pleasant. I am simply amazed by this company's expertise, workmanship, honesty and always going the extra mile. Mike has evaluated my vehicle issues on two separate occasions and literally saved me thousands of dollars compared to what an original eguipment dealer estimated that needed to be done. They even delivered my vehicle back to the dealership to get a major repair done under warranty on a vehicle with 73000 miles which I wasn't aware of the warranty coverage for that "engine light" issue. am 72 years young, went for inspection of my AC that had cool air coming out just not as cold as I wanted to Auto Air & Electri, spoke to Owner Mike Yochom, said it would cost me $75. just to look at it. Most places don't charge anything to look at it, but ok. Mike advised it was AC compressor at $1,400. plus recert Actuator motor $800., out the door amount $2325.00. I advised him I replaced AC compressor in March along with new hose after dye indicated a small leak. I declined his service to replace since I was still under warranty and decided to go back to the initial repair shop. Mike became ANGRY and VERY argumentative on my decision. Paid him $77.25. Later found out it was only Freon that I needed & I got it done for free and they put more dye to check for possible leak. Nothing was wrong with the AC Compressor. Came to find out that Mike or staff deactivated my anti security alarm system. Bitch move Mike! upset because he didn't screw me out of $2325. Anyone who takes advantage of the elderly or anyone for that matter doesn't deserve my business and I will let others know about his business dealings. Guess he has to pay for that brand new GMC Denali somehow. I feel bad for the other elderly couple that was behind me to get service. read more

Took my car here because I was sick of chasing a leak in my AC system. I have a 1970 Plymouth with a 2009 Dodge Ram drive-train and an aftermarket AC system. Not many people are willing to work on something like this. I called and they took me in immediately. I forgot the guy's name at the front desk but he was very clear about the steps that would be taken to troubleshoot the problem and he kept me posted along the way. Driving from Washington my transmission went out in Blythe California, towed it to Phoenix, where our son lives. He recommended this shop to us. Had the transmission re-built and the radiator replaced at a FAIR AND HONEST price. A few weeks later I hear this rattle and the RPM's are running high. Drove it back down to Phoenix for them to look at. I honstly thought it had something to do with my transmission but it didn't. They found a cracked hose and a clip on my brake pad that wasn't reattached after Les Schwab done my brakes. This was all fixed for FREE and should of cost me $250, but being the awesome person Mike is, they didn't charge me. I've NEVER had a Mechanics place fix my car for $0. Here I am a year later back at Auto Air and Electric. The starter in my little old Corolla went out and when it did (to quote Mike) "it kicked the battery in the balls". HA! Love the straightforwardness of these guys. I towed my car in, got an estimate on repair costs, had repairs done (same day), and again the final bill was slightly less than the estimate. I'll continue to take my 2003 Corolla here for repairs. 187,000 miles and many more to come. Definitely appreciate these guys. Also, he mentioned there was an issue with the emissions system that won't effect my car's ability to get me from point A to point B, but should be looked at before I register my car next year. What a nice experience. I took a leap of faith and tried these guys and to my surprise was blown away. My wife has a '79 Mercedes 450 SL and this year the A/C died. We took it to the Mercedes specialist we normally bring it to and after keeping it for 3 days he told us that it would cost upwards of $4500 to fix it. I dropped it off at Auto Air and Electric and they called me back in a few hours with an estimate of $850! I was happy but nervous. I have a crack in my ac hard line and asked for a quote, we were quoted OEM prices, when we suggested an after market vendor we were told it would be the same price even tho they would be after market parts. The price difference from an honest mechanic is 600$ just in parts. Who knows what the bottom line would have been for labor for our 600$ minimum labor quote. read more

I don't always take time to write a review but when I do, it' is usually: for an exceptionally good or poor service. Unfortunately, this time it is the latter. Being from California, I came to Auto Air & Electric by referral from someone I got to know locally. This person has been in the auto field for a long time and recommended AA&E as people with knowledge, experience and integrity. Raving reviews on Yelp provided further assurance that it would be the right place to have my Mazda 626's problem fixed and without hesitation I went to the shop. Upon walking in, I stumbled into Mike at the desk. Mentioning the name of the referring party did not seem to make much of an impression and I proceeded describing my problem. The issue at hand was a non-working A/C system. Most places I had taken the car to for estimates kept looking in the wrong direction and were inclined to think that it was a faulty compressor. A friend who works on cars out of his garage was nice enough to do a great deal of preliminary testing and conclusively ruled it out. Everything was pointing to an electric system. It must be noted that I came to the shop not exactly as a first time novice with an attitude "The car has a problem, please fix it". I had some grasp of the issue, had done some "homework" and just needed to establish the missing link. I felt that with the information I provided AA&E and with their level of expertise it would be a slam dunk. Judging from Mike's lack of interest of my preliminary findings, I understood he was keen at tackling the problem from the bottom up. This approach may have its merits, but I felt, and my feeling was later affirmed, that many of the steps they intentionally or unintentionally took were unnecessary as they had duplicated steps taken by my friend. The repair was started with the basic inspection ($40) which I predicted would not be productive use of time, but Mike insisted it was the right way to do it. 30 min. later he peeked inside to get an approval for the next step up ($125) a more thorough examination. After nearly 5 hours in the shop and $290 lighter (a repair of a short circuited wire bundle, something I had known about, had to be made in the process) I was being told that possibly a relay ($75 special order item) was causing the issue. I was to leave the car in the shop as the part would arrive the next day. Extremely disappointed, to say the least, with the growing costs and no end in sight, I declined and left. Soon after I returned to California and was fortunate to have found a not so fancy shop in one of the industrial areas of LA. Armed with information I provided him, the Spanish speaking mechanic, despite poor command of English quickly got a grasp of the problem and in 45 min. cracked the puzzle. Cherry on the icing was the fact that he charged me only $50 for labor. No parts had to be ordered. None of the "let's do preliminary diagnostic" BS. He tinkered with the car and charged me for producing an actual result rather than an hourly rate while just going through the motions. Based on my overall experience, I feel this rating would be the most appropriate. read more

Brought my vintage 1979 Mercedes Benz in. The A/C had stopped blowing cold. Another shop quoted me $4,500 to replace the radiator, compressor, hoses, etc. etc. I brought it in to Auto Air & Electric. They could have easily taken advantage of a girl like me, but they did not! They added some Freon, fixed 1 leaking hose, and the A/C works AMAZINGLY!! The final bill was $25 LESS than the quoted price. I would recommend this shop to any of my friends and will be taking my Merc in for other services - it's a full service shop. read more
