Payes Automotive - Auto Repair Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Hands down the best mechanic shop in the Valley! I highly recommend checking them out. Their prices are very reasonable and fair, and the quality of work is outstanding. They are honest, knowledgeable, and truly care about their customers. It's hard to find a shop that delivers this kind of value and service. If you're looking for reliable mechanics you can trust, this is the place to go. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending them to family and friends! read more

Reasonably priced and great service!. We've referred so many people and our whole family goes for service now. Highly recommend

Excellent communication and service. I had oil change done. In and out in 45 minutes and cheaper than dealership.

Wanted to charge me $250 to diagnose my car....then when I walked in with tiger customer that recommended me they didn't ask for the money... seemed kinda shady. read more

We have been working with Kevin and his company for fixing some of Tru Cab and Tru Limo's vehicles for over a year now. He does excellent work and is very reasonable on pricing and has been known to even work weekends to get our vehicles fixed to get back on the road ASAP. His facility is a bit far from us but he is that good that we will send our vehicles over there for repairs when we are unable to do them ourselves. I've heard great things about his fleet program as well but due to their location it's tough for us to send cabs out there for oil changes, but if his location is even somewhat convenient for you I would recommend to give him a shot. read more

Kevin Payes is an automotive genius. He is up front honest and fair. He got me in same day and finished the work by the time I got back from the runners expo. I told him I didn't have enough time and he said he would work on it as soon as they got the parts. By the time I dropped the car off he said the parts were already on their way and as soon as they arrived he would work on the car!!!! Like I said, superior work, reasonable price, great guy! If I didn't live in California, Kevin would definitely be my mechanic! Kudos to Kevin and the whole shop. read more

My go to! In n out! .......... much respect to Payes Automotive! Plain and simply a trustworthy and knowledgeable group!

Best service you can get, hands down! It's hard to find good shops that you can trust to explain and actually fix the problem the first time. read more

I took my car here for brake work, because the dealership had said it needed it. Hah. These guys let me know I was good, but that I needed a new battery and my shocks were leaking. They took me back and showed me too. So they are fixing it for me, at a fair price. They are now my car repair shop of choice. I have another car needing work, so they will see with that one this weekend. If you have any doubt that they will treat you right, check them out. You will be happy you did. read more

Kevin and his guys are super friendly and knowledgeable! Fixed up my daughter's 2000 Beetle that had several things going on with it. Thx!

Honest, good pricing and high quality work.... what more could you ever want from a mechanic? So I am a LONG time shade tree mechanic. I've only taken cars to shops begrudgingly... I have a 1967 Ford Mustang project car that was kicking my butt... I hurt my back and couldn't finish it. Enter Kevin at Payes Automotive. I asked them to repair a few items and while they had the car go over it and let me know what it needs. They did what I asked, gave me a list of optional repairs and prices (which I had them complete). Grand total was extremely fair, work is exceptional quality and car runs and drives better than it ever has before. Top that all off by the fact that Kevin and his staff are extremely polite and kind. I drove car home, happy and smiling the whole way. Then my phone rang.... It was Kevin. Checking to be sure I was happy with the work and car, reminding me that all work they performed comes with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. Unreal customer service. I've never said I would take a car back or refer people to a mechanic before now.... But Payes Automotive earns my referal and will earn my future business as I need it. read more

My engine blew out very close to this shop so I had to tow my car to the closest shop around (less expensive). I ended up bring my car to Payes Auto repair and was very happy I did. The front desk staff has been incredible! VERY VERY helpful and VERY thoughtful! She let me keep my "dead" car there for a week until I had a game plan on what to do with it (it was totaled). She was nothing but empathetic giving my situation and I plan to use their shop again next time I have car issues! I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for an easy and stress free auto repair. read more

I dropped my car off at 7 AM for an oil change. They told me they wouldn't be able to get it done until after 2 PM. At 10 in the morning they called and said the car was ready. Not only that, they even offered to give me a ride to work after I dropped it off. Their full synthetic oil changeout was the cheapest I ever had at about $45. Highly recommended. read more

Payes Automotive is the best auto repair shop I've used! I have had my oil changed here as well as having my brake pads replaced. They are very ethical and do meticulous work. My husband was always wanting to do our own car maintenance until we found Payes Automotive. Kevin and his staff also give insight as to the problems or issues they are working on and the solution they are providing. Payes Automotive will always work on our cars! Thank you for the great work! read more

I met Kevin a little over a year ago. He started working on my Mustang GT/Roush. We've been having problems getting a clutch to last more than a couple thousand miles. Too much power on the top end. The good thing about Kevin is, he will take the time to problem solve for you. Honest is his middle name. Getting ready to have another clutch/flywheel installed. Also, going to have him upgrade my MT82 trans using the Stage 3 upgrade kit. This upgrades the factory 23 spline to a 26 spline with hd gears in the front. Lastly, we need to upgrade the slave cylinder. Hopefully this will work. I wouldn't even consider anyone else for this job. read more

I was referred by a friend to this shop and it was a great experience. Kevin is honest and only takes care of what needs to be done while giving you updates along the way. My local oil change shop mentioned that my front and rear brakes needed to be replaced, so I had planned on getting a second opinion and having the work done elsewhere. After inspection, Kevin told me the rear brakes still had a lot of life left on them and only needed a cleaning and adjustment. It is people like this that will keep me coming back. Thanks! OMG I can't say enough about Kevin Payes at Payes Automotive. As a woman, It is so freakin' scary taking a vehicle into a repair shop. You just always wonder am I gonna get scammed. But Kevin is the best guy! He's so honest. He will always tell it to you straight. He will actually tell you when work doesn't need to be done (WHAT?!?) Yes Yelpers. That is true! What a guy! What a shop! Quality, quality quality. If you want a fair deal and honest answers go see Kevin. read more

Kevin and his team are up front , honest and do great work. I have had issues with vehicles that nobody else seem to be able to fix, that kevin was able to find and solve in no times. I would recommend anyone that is looking for good honest work to go to this shop. As good as it gets. read more

I was very impressed by these guys. They spent a lot of time making sure they got the diagnosis right and when they gave me the bill, I was surprised at how inexpensive it was. I'm new to the west valley, so it is great to find a trustworthy mechanic already. read more

I am so thrilled to have a mechanic I can trust! We we were heading out of town for a camping trip the upcoming weekend and my "check engine light" had came on. I had just gotten a quote from a dealership when a friend of mine recommended Payes Automotive. Payes Automotive got us right in. Their quote ended up being substantially less too. Kevin Payes went through all the recommended repairs by priority. Kevin never pressured us at all! He also went so far as to give my husband a ride home after hours when my husband dropped off the car. Exceptional customer service!! I highly recommend Payes Automotive. I will never bring my car to a dealership again! read more

Kevin and the team at Payes Automotive are fantastic. The thought of taking my car into "the shop" to get work on it used to be a scary proposition. Their motto of "replace only what is needed" is really true. They will tell you what needs to be done now and what we need to keep an eye on in the future. They really do go the extra mile. Fantastic service read more

Called to speak to Kevin but had the pleasure of speaking to a guy named Buddy. He was no help and best he could do was say that Kevin will be in on Friday? Buddy had near to no customer service skills. I'm glad I realized this before I took my car there. read more

Awesome guys, (and gals). I am a neighboring shop and anytime i need anything or have a question they help without question. the shop is always busy and i've only heard good things from their customers. Kevin is a really nice guy. read more

Kevin and his crew were able to get my car (Honda Del Sol) in on short notice, and had it done early the same day. A "Big Box" shop not far from there tried to tell me it needed a radiator, thermostat and hoses to remedy the sudden cause of overheating. Not trusting that diagnosis I called Kevin with Payes Automotive to see if I could get his opinion before I authorize a repair, and also told him I would prefer he do the work anyhow, since he had done a great job for me in the past. Sure enough he was able to just do the thermostat, and hoses are just maintenance of course that needed to be replaced. My care did NOT need a radiator like the other place told me. It's been 3 months and the car is still running strong with no hiccups. The moral of the story is Payes Automotive is quick fair and honest. Saving me hundreds of dollars and I was back on the road in no time. One other credit I'd like to give these guys is, they do not talk down to females or those mechanically inexperienced, like so many other places. Kevin has always showed me, not just told me- where the problem is without me having to ask. I sincerely appreciate that. It's one thing to have the repair done right, it's another to have friendly and respectable service while your there, they do both. They also have a place on their intake form where you can request your old parts back, not many shops offer this and throw a fit if you ask. I had been to Payes in the past, now with this recent experience, I will not go anywhere else. I encourage you to give them a chance to earn your business too. read more

Payes Automotive does excellent work! Best service out there, hands down! Kevin genuinely cares about his customers and you really can trust that your car is in good hands. read more

Why would I drive 40mi to Payes Automotive in Phoenix? Because I know I'm going to be taken care of! I do not know Kevin Payes super well but I am somewhat of a family friend. He and his wife would likely dispute the "somewhat of a family friend" statement because of their friendly and caring natures. My story is this: My car broke down in California about 4hrs from Phoenix. I was towed to a dealership and told I would need a new transmission at the cost of $4,000.00. I called Kevin and his wife Fonda for some simple advice. He told me "That sounds kind of strange to me Chris?" Followed by: "If you want, I can come out there and tow you back for the cost of fuel and see if we can save you some money because it just doesn't sound right." Kevin and his wife came out to get me for the price of fuel! (who does that!).....which incidentally is more than the cost of the repair which was a gasket on the transmission! I asked Kevin to do more to my 03 Honda Odyssey so the total charged is high but less than $700.00. The true total repairs came to $150.00 plus about $200.00 for towing. Well, that's not near the $4,000.00I could be out of today. Kevin, Fonda and the great mechanics at Payes Automotive. Thank you for your time. Your time to be honest and upfront with your customers. Your time to explain and tell your customers what absolutely needs to be fixed, what doesn't, what can be fixed later and what will save us, (your customers money). I'll always come back! Because no matter who you are, you are there friend when you bring in your car and walk into their shop. Love you guys! Chris and Kristy Sandum in Gilbert AZ. read more
