I brought my vehicle to Thunderbird Automotive Specialist with a fully functioning cruise control…read more It was working perfectly the day I dropped it off. When I picked up my car, the cruise control was no longer working. When I brought this to their attention, I was met with skepticism, as if my concern wasn't valid. That was frustrating, especially since I know my vehicle and how it was operating prior to service. They asked to keep the car for further inspection, which I agreed to. A couple of days later, they informed me the issue had been "fixed." However, when I asked what the problem was, I was told it was the cruise control switch. What raised serious concerns for me was what came next. When I asked for documentation or a repair record, I was told there was none--because the mechanic had paid for the part out of his own pocket. That explanation simply does not sit right. If a repair was performed, there should always be documentation--regardless of who paid for the part. Transparency is basic professionalism. The lack of paperwork, combined with the fact that the system was working before my visit, strongly suggests something happened while the vehicle was in their care. More disappointing than anything was that no one took responsibility, and no apology was offered. Mistakes can happen in any shop--but honesty and accountability matter. Because of this experience, I will not be returning.

We have plenty of proof, including affidavits that we're getting from the mechanic shop, phone calls, text messages and overwhelming evidence again people watch who you hire even when you provide proof it seems not enough for someone that doesn't want to take responsibility for the bad work done these are all my opinions except for the facts that I have and will be providing in court. I tried to resolve this with Mr. Kole showed him evidence. Let him know what I had and he still refuses and said I will see you in court clearly this is someone that doesn't want to take responsibility. I will be updating after it is resolved in court. Everything expressed is of my opinion.

The 2 guys came on time to install 4 aftermarket brakes (4 rotors and 4 calipers) for my 2024…read moreNissan Z. After the installation, I took my car for a ride and there were many warning lights on the dashboard. Not sure if they damaged all the sensors on the car but all the sensors are now giving me warning lights and these warning lights will not go away. If you have newer cars, DO NOT let these guys fix your cars. One of the mechanics was hitting the back rotor with a huge hammer very hard to get it off and must have damaged all the sensors, I guess. Another possibility is that the other mechanic was using an electric saw to cut off the dust covers and might have cut a cable to cause all the warning lights to show up on the dashboard. I sent them an email about all the warning lights but no response from them. They were able to install the 4 rotors and 4 calipers just fine but the brakes don't feel very tight and feel loose when hitting the brakes. I have to push the brake pedal almost all the way down to the floor in order to stop the car. I recommend these guys if you have older cars with no latest technologies. They have damaged my new car. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 6/2/2025 Took my 2024 Nissan Z to the Nissan dealership and they found 2 problems with my 2024 Nissan Z. INSPECT SENSOR AND FOUND THAT SENSOR IS BROKEN. AND HUB IS NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY. So far, I have not heard anything from the owner Kole Williams. I believe Kole does not want to take responsibility to fix my damaged car or provide a refund, and fulfill the warranty for installing the brakes. I've had the same mechanic for about 30 years (a family owned & operated shop in WA), and the thought of going somewhere else petrified me. I really needed an oil change and tire rotation and chose Grease Monkey on Bell based on Google & Yelp reviews. I was greeted right away, explained what my needs were, and Thad did his best to reassure me that I would be well taken care of, they would show me all parts before replacing, and would not try to upsell me. He also said they have bays in back with mechanics to do other work when I need it. I did need a few other things (rear brake light, wiper blades, cabin filter) and each time someone came in to get my approval. I had no idea my wiper blades would shred in the heat! If it's raining, I'm more likely to be standing outside letting it hit me in the face than going for a drive. They were very patient in getting me every discount they could. Coupon codes from the website AND a senior discount! In and out in less than an hour, including wait time to get my car in the bay. The website did mention a carwash, which they don't have at this location, but that was not a deal breaker at all. I highly recommend this location and will definitely go back when I need anything else done.

Kirk, the service manager, has been a big part of why I keep coming back -- he's down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to even when I don't fully understand the technical side of things. I really appreciate their communication process, including texted reports and photos of the work being done. So far, everything they've done has been straightforward and honest. When I've questioned their diagnostics or recommendations, Kirk has taken the time to explain things clearly and has even reached out to Jasper (the company that rebuilt my engine) just to help put my mind at ease. That level of follow-through means a lot, especially after a bad experience elsewhere. My one significant complaint is their shop fees. These charges aren't itemized as a "shop supply fee" or anything specific -- they just appear as a flat fee, and they're not disclosed anywhere in the initial quote. Most shops I've dealt with cap this type of fee around $50, but I was charged $90 on one occasion. Not listing this upfront feels misleading, and I think it's something customers should be made aware of before authorizing work. That said, trust in the actual mechanical work matters a lot to me, and this shop has earned that trust. I'll continue bringing my vehicle here, but I'd strongly encourage them to be more transparent about these fees upfront -- it would go a long way toward making an already good experience a great one.
