I brought my 2018 Chevy Equinox for turn signal problem. I replaced the bulbs, checked fuses, etc and couldn't figure it out. I brought it in and within an hour they had it fixed. Rats had gnawed on one of the wires. It makes perfect sense, since a neighbor had complained about rats recently. Update: vehicle very unsafe to drive with children! Took to the neighborhood mechanic thinking i was in good hands.. they claim needed new tires.. discount tire and sun devil both confirmed new tires were not at all needed - $3500 (motor mounts, control arms) later at sundevil my vehicle is now safe for my children.. sun devil also stated this place has really gone down hill over the years - just this month alone, i was the 4th person to come to sun devil with similar issues etc Thank you! read more

For some reason, there was oil in our coolant reservoir and we were quoted elsewhere over $400 to flush the system. After bringing it here, The took a look at everything and said that flushing the system wasn't even necessary and saved us $300. We drove about 40 mins and it was completely worth it. This shop has an owner with integrity. I came in for routine maintenance, I had just came from a road trip and wanted to service my car because the oil change light came on. I brought it and he looked and said, "you don't need an oil change, your car is in very good condition, keep doing what you are doing, you can take your car and go home. The last guy forgot to reset your sensor. I reset it for you". I was calling out all these issues that I want to get ahead of and he was like you don't need that stuff until later. You are good. Do you know how many mechanics would have found something wrong and "fixed it" and charged me something? I know at least three. read more

I gave this one star because I had to give it something. I took my car to them to have ac recharged. AJ said I needed a new fuel pump. I believed him and said okay. I also gave him permission to change the wipper blades. When I went to pay the bill was $2161. 43 I thought to myself fuel pumps must be very expensive. Three more times the car was slow to start or did not start AJ said bring it in the fuel pump is still under warranty. The last time I was gettiing ready to take it on vacation. There was gas all over my drive way. I had it towed in because it was not drivaeable. He had the car for about a week, never botheeed to contact me when it was finished, when i tried to call him VM was full. Finally I went and got my car. When looking through my bank records he charged me $160.13 for that vist. No explanation. He said to drive it around town and if I did not have problems to go ahead and take it on vacaion. Which I did. It ran okay but as soon as I got home, left the car running , put the dogs in the house started to back it out of my driveway it kept stalling and missing and I barely made it 5 house down where I left it. Later that night I barely got it started and backed it up to my house but it kept missing and back firing and would only go about 2 miles an hour. So this time I had it towed to an excellent mechanic that I have known since 1st grade. He looked at it said I need a fuel pump. Not the defective kind AJ had been using but one from Ford, which AJ said he did not have access to. He could have told me this from the start. He called AJ and told him my fuel pump was bad and he either needed to fix it correctly or give me my money back. This was after 4 months of AJ striningg me along. I called AJ after he had talked to my mechanic, to ask him what he was going to do about the problem. He said he would fix it. I told him no way would I ever trust him to touch one of my cars again. Then he offered to put $900.00 back on my card. Since he had never given me an invoice and I told him I wanted all my money back he proceeds to tell me he put struts and back brakes on my car which he never mentioned to me NOR did I authorize. I do not even know what a strut is. I told him I want all my money back total $2321.56. He said he wuld call his boss and get back with me. Which, of course, he did not do. I called my bank and explained what happened that he did things to my car, or at least he said he did without my authorization and he did not fix the fuel pump in 4 trys. DO NOT USE SUNBURST AUTOMOTIVE. Rip offs like them give all mechanics bad names. Terrible customer service. I asked a guy working there if may the driver airbag light was on because of a fuse and he told me the only way to find out was to go get in a wreck and see if it deployed. A wasted summer for vacations all because of Sunburst automotive. read more

Brought my vehicle here at the recommendation of a colleague, once my car had trouble. It turned out I needed to have my battery replaced, and the mechanics charged me $50 for a half an hour worth of labor just to replace a battery. I know very little about vehicles, but I do know it definitely does not take that long to replace a battery, period. I am a women with 2 small children, and I took my 2008 FORD SUV into Sunburst Automotive 2 weeks because I was hearing a noise that I knew that should not have been there. The owner test drove it, and raised it and looked underneath, and ran a diagnosis check on the computer. I was told that there was nothing wrong with my vehicle, and that the noise I was hearing was probably because it's a Ford, and Ford's just do that. The noise has gotten progressively worse since I brought the truck in there, and today it was diagnosed by another shop, and was told my vehicle was not safe to drive, that it needed to be repaired RIGHT AWAY. I was told not to drive more than 50 miles per hour, and do not get on a highway until I get the repair, and to drive as minimal as possible, as the problem gets worse EVERY TIME I drive it. I find it dis concerning when you take your vehicle to a professional, and your told your just driving a piece of crap and don't worry about it, and in fact every day you drive the vehicle the problem is getting worse, and my family's well-being is in harms way. I called to speak to the owner today, and they said "oops sorry", they were not concerned at all. I highly recommend if you take your vehicle to Sunburst Automotive that when you leave immediately take it somewhere else, and get a second opinion. IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE. This is my first time ever writing a Yelp review, and I discourage this sort of thing, but when it comes to peoples lives..... I think people need to be warned. read more

Best car repair shop in Arizona as far as I am concerned. They are attentive to your needs, are professional and most importantly of all, they are super honest. I trust them to tell me the truth about what needs to be repaired. I once got a quote to fix my brakes for $2200 with a laundry list of problems and then went to Sunburst and they told me I needed $300 of repairs to take care of the problem. I visited another mechanic earlier that day and was told that my car needed to have about $1600 worth of work done. I don't know much about cars, and I'm glad that Sunburst was willing to see me that day. Actually they were willing to see me as soon as I could get down there, which was very kind. I took it in for a second opinion only to find that there was nothing wrong with the car. Kevin was very honest with me and explained any issues that the car might have. It doesn't get better than these guys. I called 5 places to get a quote for my timing belt on my 4Runner. It ranged from $970 all the way to $700....then I called these guys $640 (that included water pump, etc) . They are honest, they are fair, they are fast, and they are competent. They even saved the used parts for my cousin who is finishing automotive school and wanted them for whatever reason. Kevin is the one I spoke to, he is genuinely friendly and honest. We found out they have been at the same location for 37 years and all I want to know is why did it take me so long to find them?
