I came in for a $200 AC issue on my Santa Fe. When I left, after it was "fixed" the transmission shifter wouldn't shift. They took my car to a transmission shop and told me it would need to be rebuilt for about $1600, this took a about a week to find out. The day I came to pick my car up because it was totaled, it was miraculously able to start shifting again, after I said I wouldn't pay the $1600, and I had the triple A tow truck with me. I can't trust them with my car, I was about to be out a fair chunk of change for something that wasn't broken. read more

I was beyond satisfied with my visit to AK Auto. I showed up middle of the day with no appointment. I told them I didn't know what the heck was wrong but I was hoping to at least have someone take a look at my car to let me know what needed to be repaired and get an estimate. They said give them about an hour and they would call with their findings. They called within 45 minutes to let me know what needed to be done. To my surprise they said they were even able to get ALL the work done same day. My favorite part of the whole experience is it didn't feel like they were trying to upsell me. They kept me updated through the whole process and informed me of my options, but didn't pressure me one way or the other. To top it off, the owner Arlo double checked all the work before sending us on our way. Overall, best experience I've had at an auto shop. I gimped my car in at about 12:30 and it was back to me by 6:00. This included them needed two parts delivered and the fact that they squeezed me into their full schedule.
