I wasn't going to write a review about my experience, but my friend has since had 2 similar experiences here so I feel like people should know. I am extremely hesitant to bring my car to a mechanic shop normally because my dad typically fixes my cars for me. I wanted to give him a break so that is what lead me here. A little over a year ago I brought my car in for a horrible noise it was making. They diagnosed it and over $1,000 later I got the call my car was fixed and ready. As I was driving away, the same very glaring and obvious noise happened even before I left the parking lot. I called and let them know it was still making the noise so they had me bring it back the next day. I went on a drive with one of the mechanics so I could make sure they knew what noise I was talking about. They kept my car, put some oil/lubricant on a few things, and said good to go. Again, my car made the noise as I drove out of the parking lot. I called again to tell them it was still making the noise and I was told, "I don't know what to tell you, your car is old and we could spend years looking for what is causing the noise." And that was it. No offer to try to figure it out and I've now spent the money I barely could afford as a single mom and my car is not fixed. And I don't have the additional funds at the time to take it elsewhere because I spent it with them. Here I am, over a year later and the car is still making the noise because I'm nervous about trying at another mechanic. My friend over the past year has had two very similar experiences where the initial issue was not fixed at first and she has had to go back. She had to pay for the non-fixes and again for the going back to actually get it fixed. I have no doubt the work they did on my car was done properly, however it was not the right work or the fix for my issue. The employee even said he thought what they replaced looked like it had already been replaced before (like it was not the original part). I feel like that should have raised a flag that maybe it wasn't the part that needed replacing. I would use caution when considering going here. read more

I've been going here for years and highly recommend D&M Automotive. I recently got new tires and was given a long list of things I should get repaired. I went to my trusted mechanics at D&M and was relieved I didn't need half those things. I'm an elder lady that appreciates the honesty and integrity I can count on at D&M. I can trust them to give me great value and never, ever try to pad the expenses for parts and labor or try to charge for repairs I don't need! I found D&M Automotive just googling a place to change my oil, rotate tires and flush my brake fluid (as it is recommended by Subaru at 30,000 miles.). I dropped it off and within the hour I received a call letting me know was at 1% moisture. He explained that it doesn't need to be flushed at this time. I was shocked and surprised I received a call to tell me I didn't need the service. In my option, there are a lot of auto shops and dealerships who would just go ahead and do it to get more money. I found this place by reading the reviews and they did not disappoint! Took my car to the dealer and they told me the fix was over $2,000. Since my car is out of warranty, I first called D&M Automotive for a quote and their quote over the phone was considerably less. After dropping off for repair, I got a call from Erik that the dealership had misdiagnosed and the repair turned out to be minor and only around $300. I switched to D & M after considerable experience with a larger, valley wide firm. It was a very satisfactory decision, despite having to travel several miles further. I have dealt with Eric for service and repairs to our 2013 Acura and 1997 Lexus, both of which are highly dependable cars, despite their ages and mileage. Eric is always helpful, very efficient, and makes it easy to schedule the work and get the needed parts so there is no delay. Plus this: you could eat off any surface in the place! Significance? They care. You want someone working on your car who knows what that means. Reasonable prices, quality work. Can't beat that combination. I recommend them to all of my friends. read more

I have never written a Yelp review but was impelled to do so with respect to D&M Automotive. I'd taken my 2006 Nissan Frontier, which I'd purchased used, to multiple mechanics and garages because of a chronic stalling problem. Although I ended up spending a significant amount of money in the process, none of them were ultimately able to diagnose, to say nothing of, repair the problem. Finally referred to D&M, I was far from optimistic that D&M would be able to identify a problem that had eluded every previous mechanic. Indeed, I'd resolved to sell the Nissan if D&M proved, like all previous mechanics, unable to help me. When I dropped my truck off at D&M, Eric assured me they would promptly find and fix the problem (I'd heard THAT before!). But, true to his word, D&M came through for me. Turns out, the problem was a faulty camshaft module, which D&M replaced...Nissan now runs like a champ for the first time in many months. Communication was excellent, work was completed as promised, and the price was fair. D&M Auto has my future business. read more

Took my new 5 year old car here for a complete check up. I asked that everything be checked. The call back they stated I needed rear brakes and possibly spark plugs. I gave them the go ahead. When I picked the car up ($1037 for the two items) I was given a receipt and that was it. Where is my diagnostic print out? They say everything is fine but what is everything? My old auto shop burned down this past February, they always provided me with a diagnostic print out. I was hoping this new shop would be my go to shop to keep my car running great for many years. I was an hour and half away from home and my car wouldn't start at all. Unfortunately the battery wasn't the problem. I was concerned because I didn't know any mechanics in the area so I had to just take a shot but thankfully it worked out. I was able to tow my car to D&M and they quickly got my starter replaced. The guys at D & M are great. They know their stuff and are straight shooters. My dad was originally referred to them by one of his friends to work on his classic car and they did a great job on it. About 15 months ago I bought a Suburban and it needed new suspension and cooling system components (radiator and what not) and it has been running great ever since. I recently started using the vehicle to tow and the transmission temperatures were getting way too high. I called them to ask about installing a transmission cooler and had it in a week later. I brought my own oil and filter in to have them change it while it was there (I change my own oil but figured since it was going to be there might as well let them do it). On my last change I used a new bolt because the one that came with the suburban was a bit stripped. I either over tightened the bolt or the threads on the oil pan were already starting to go, but whatever happened the threads came out with the bolt. They installed some new threads in the oil pan and it was good to go again. The transmission cooler is fantastic. I towed with it today for the 1st time. The last time I was on the same road it got up to 225 degrees. Today it barely got over 180. I am a happy customer and will continue to refer people to their shop. read more
