I had took my performance car in for work here and received nothing but headache and a car that caught on fire ! I would never take any of my vehicles here ever again. It started off with a diagnosis of an issue where the car would struggle to rev and ended with me never trusting a shop with my car ever ! The car needed a tune that ended up getting figured out but took multiple months. I had them fix my rear main seal and the engine issue which was fixed with a tune. When i had received the car back. The technician "Eric" drove it like a mad man breaking the tires loose which shouldn't be part of the " simple repair ". Once the test drive ended i had took the car back home and before i even made it back the car had ignited brake fluid that was leaking from a clutch line onto the header that wasn't properly installed causing the whole entire car to catch on fire ! After i had to save my own car from the fire they were so eager to fix but i was given a car that had the power steering go out on me while I was driving it. After another 2 and a half weeks of the car being in the shop i got it back with only repairs that were "necessary" to get the car to run still had burnt hoses and lines in back of the intake manifold that i paid good money for burnt for me to repair on my own time. Once i got the car back i had countless phone calls of having the Owner/manager hang up the phone on me from another issue happening with the clutch after they had just messed with it my clutch was not wanting to engage properly and they refused to work on it i have audio recorded calls with this as well. I then had another shop "On-The-Go transmissions" diagnose the issue as them not bleeding the clutch properly. So thanks Curt's auto repair for absolutely torturing my car. read more

I had my 1978 Corvette towed to Curt's Auto from a Corvette Specialist who couldn't repair it. I hate to admit it, but when I showed up, I was sassy and frustrated because the previous shop had my car for over a month and soaked me over $8K and I was in the exact same spot. Even with my sass, I was greeted by a professional, personable and friendly representative. She explained that they had been working on it, and they were waiting for parts, but would grab the technician to elaborate further. I don't think there are technicians anywhere that know more than the team at Curt's! I'm not kidding! The technican knew some tricks to tune it up without running my pocketbook through the ringer. I could go on for days about their knowledge. You can believe my surprise when I received a call from Curt's saying my car was ready for pick up after a few days when a corvette specialist couldn't figure it out after a month! I love to learn and wish I could do more of the work myself but that's not always the case. The technicians at Curt's can dumb it down even if you're not a gear-head and take the time to explain EVERYTHING in as much or as little detail as you want and answer any questions no matter how silly! Even after my little attitude problem they welcomed me to the Curt's Auto Repair Family :) The prices are competitive, quality repairs and customer service can't be beat! REASON FOR BRINGING THE CAR IN: Check engine light was on. CONCLUSION: I cannot recommend Curt's Auto Repair for the following reasons: HIGH PRICES. HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR WITH THEM FOR 2 DAYS BEFORE THEY GOT AROUND TO CHECKING IT OUT. CHARGED $145 FOR THE ESTIMATE (which took 2 days & was very difficult to understand due to the language & tiny font). AND THE CAR RETURNED TO US WITH A BROKEN DOOR. I still can't figure out why Curt's Auto never reported the broken door to me after they ran a "curtesy" maintenance & safety check on the car. They pointed out that the car should have a new radiator hose, new spark plugs, etc., but they said NOTHING about the broken door (which is a huge safety issue, because you couldn't get out of the car unless lowering the driver's side window). REASONS: My wife & I dropped off her car Monday afternoon. We didn't get an estimate until Wednesday afternoon. The estimate was not ready when we picked up the car. They were having lunch, so we waited another 45 min for them to return. Still didn't get a written estimate. It was a verbal estimate which we were charged $145 for. The estimate amounted to $3,500 to fix an oil leak, replace spark plugs, & a radiator hose. After receiving the estimate, I noticed there were shop fees & hazardous waste fees on EVERYTHING!!! They even charged a hazardous waste fee PLUS a shop fee just to replace a plastic dashboard air conditioning vent. Completely Outrageous!!! I just finished reading other YELP Reviews & found other customers that have been gouged by their prices. So, we're not the only ones. Another thing: When we dropped off the car, my wife told Anna (who was, by the way, very pleasant) to make sure that the VIPER remote is used to open the doors. When my wife went to get out of the car after stopping for gas, the door wouldn't open!!! I can't prove that they broke the driver's side car door, but NOBODY INFORMED US THAT THERE WAS ANY PROBLEM WITH IT after doing a safety/maintenance check on the car. FOLLOW-UP: I took the car to Christian Brothers Automotive in Peoria, Az. I chose this place based on what was written in Yelp reviews. They gave me a detailed estimate with pictures in a few hours. The estimate was very straight forward & easy to understand. The broken door cost me $350 to repair. The entire bill was $1,300. My wife & I left Christian Brothers Automotive very satisfied. They fixed the car at a reasonable price in about a day including the estimate and guaranteed their work for 3 years (labor included). read more

I have taken my 2019 Ford F150 to Curt's for the last two oil changes. They have been nothing but professional. They check out your vehicle and give you a written scorecard. No pressure to repair things that aren't broken. And it is always ready when promised and they have a courtesy shuttle to take you home and bring you back. Whether you are looking for a quality automotive repair shop for your recent model vehicle or in search of someone to help keep your older car or truck in top running condition, Curt's Auto Repair should not be a first choice. Or a second one either.... In business for over 35 years, owner Curt Rock has crafted his business into a highly profitable operation. There is nothing wrong with that unless it negatively impacts the consumer. How does Curt's do it? Contrary to his claims of using top quality OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, Curt's first strategy to every repair is the substitution of OEM parts with third tier unnamed knock-off products. Unlike reputable repair shops, the customer is given no option in this process. Invariably these inferior quality parts fail, sometimes very quickly. Curt's will then walk the customer through the warranty period by replacing any defective product with the same in kind until the warranty expires. Then the process starts all over again. An inquiring mind might ask why Curt's chooses to go this route instead of installing a high quality OEM part in the beginning. Welcome to part two of his highly crafted business model: an extortionate parts markup, which can range past 140%. Since OEM parts always come at a higher price, using a lower priced unbranded part allows for a greater markup and more profits for Curt's. There have been numerous comparisons made regarding OEM and aftermarket parts. In the majority of cases, the OEM part always is superior. It's a perfect storm when inferior parts meets inferior workmanship. Curt's presents the facade that no job is too big to handle. The store's lobby is festooned with certificates for their mechanics. Don't trust the certifications. Judge the quality of their work. A cylinder head gasket should not fail in under 20,000 miles unless there is something seriously wrong with the components OR with the workmanship. In this case, Curt's used a non-OEM head gasket set, did not replace the old cylinder head bolts with new ones (as specified by the manufacturer) and failed to test the cylinder head for cracks (even though it is a known issue on some vehicles). Curt's response? A deafening silence. Yet somehow this business managed to win a BBB Ethics Award. In summary...with new car and truck prices going through the roof, the option of retaining an older vehicle is more sound than ever before. However, this can only be done with the help of a qualified repair shop. Curt's Auto Repair is not such a facility. I have had some complex issues with my Chevy Tahoe and the team at Curt's Auto Repair we're not just confident that they will fix it, but they listened to my input and they absolutely over delivered. What a fantastic experience. They won and new solid customer now. My cooling system was not functioning properly and they found all issues (compared to other repair shops which stated the issues to be different and way more expensive, by the way: big respect to the Pep Boys on Bell Rd who said they weren't able to find the issue but provided awesome service to what they were knowledgeable about, and didn't try to just make a buck by dabbing into the dark - like what other shops do), fixed them in one day and even put a present box in my car when I picked it up. And they were not expensive at all compared to what other shops listed for me. So these other shops listed some WRONG PARTS to be the issue of my cooling system not working AND they were way more expensive. What a bunch of crooks. read more

First, I don't flinch to keep my vehicle in top shape. I expect my mechanic to be responsive to my vehicle needs. After spending almost $3000, this repair shop does NOT stand behind their work. They're quick in getting you into the facility, but slow or non-existent in everything else. I changed from AAA repair for not standing behind their work, now I'll change from Curt's. 1. Antenna paid to replace, is not working (after replacement, it broke in a windstorm less than two months. Taking it back was told a part would need to be ordered. "I'll have to check" was their reply to inquiry after two weeks, and has still been left unanswered and probably won't. 2. Cruise Control repair not completed. After all the major work was performed, I'm seriously concerned about all quality from Curt's. In addition, they don't get in a hurry doing repairs. Your vehicle can sit in their shop for days before they call for pickup. I WON'T go back. read more

I have used Curt's Auto Repair for my vehicle maintenance and small repairs for the past few years (7). They did a tire rotation on my pickup, that required a separate lock nut to remove tires. Curt's completed the tire rotation as many times before, I assumed that they left lock Nut in glove compartment as before.(I have fault for not confirming as well) A few weeks later I am driving back from Rocky Point, Mexico and get a flat tire. As you can guess, the Lock Nut is as Curt's. Thereis NO way to get the tire off and have to get a tow in AJo, AZ. Where they were able to get the tire changed and back on the road. I called Curt's to let them know what had happened, as I needed to come by and pick up the lock nut. I explaining the situation and the expense incurred as of this oversight to the manager said she would discuss this with ownership and get back to me. Had an oil pressure problem in our truck, took it to them and they even found the exhaust leak problem which we knew we had, but Midway Chevrolet and another mechanic said we didn't have! Predatory pricing. Marking parts up by 50% or more over what you can buy in person at places like NAPA. Gouging on labor and routine diagnostics. Using the cheapest Chinese parts available. So they fail sooner than expected requiring the job to be redone. Never takes appointments on time. There are much better places to go for service. Especially if you own a Toyota. Would give less than one star but that's not an option. read more

I'm a tow truck operator and just got done dropping off a vehicle there. I don't seem to understand why the service writer's at shop feel they have to be disrespectful and rude to tow trucks. How many tow trucks feed your business. If you are going to be in the radio pushing your business on Saturdays then you might want to be a little bit more respectful to the people who help you have a good profitable business. You may have great mechanics and good service to customers but I would never take my personal vehicle to this shop because of the two-face attitude from the service writers at this shop. I went to Curt's Auto Repair as a new customer because of the 4.4 star Google rating. I don't know how it got this rating based on how I was treated and the incompetence of the staff. I can only assume the Google ratings are embellished or fabricated. I dropped off my Dodge Dakota because it was losing power while driving. I asked Curt's Auto to look at it and let me know what is wrong with the truck. The service advisor told me they would run diagnostics on the truck for $186. They would send me a text containing a full report of their findings and a service advisor would reach out to discuss findings and next steps. Three days passed and I did not hear a thing and did not receive any report via text. I called to check in and was told they could not find anything wrong with the truck. When I asked if the truck needed any work, I was told "based on mileage" it needs a "tune-up". I was very clear the truck is driven only 2,000 miles per year and to not base service on the mileage of the truck (which was ignored). If you are a new customer, don't go to Curt's Auto Repair. You will be treated poorly and the staff is incompetent. read more

Hopefully, I will get satisfaction with the lawsuit of fraud. I just cannot believe I have to go through this to get satisfaction and a reason, itemized bill, for the $1000 labor cost for an air compressor and a new battery I probably did not need. They took advantage because they knew I was just passing through, imo. Maybe they don't scam their local customers.. not sure but double check.
