Eddie was knowledgeable, friendly and made me feel like I had been coming there for years. They fixed a transmission fluid leak and the car runs better than new. I thought I would need a new transmission based on how my car was acting, but fixing a leak and topping off the fluid was all it took. Under the previous ownership this place was great. Under the new ownership, not so much. I had a window regulator fail under warranty from them and they replaced without hesitation or charge which is the only reason for 2 stars instead of zero; however, when I drove the truck home - a truck I've owned since new - there were a lot of new creaks and rattles in the door they had just worked on. As it's not convenient for me to take my truck there I thought I could easily fix it myself thinking it's just a loose screw and not to bother the shop. What I found was very disappointing. When I removed the door panel, a bracket used to secure the panel to the door fell out of the bottom. Of course the screw that goes with it was missing. But also before that, you can tell the tech didn't know about a screw behind the door handle and man-handled the door panel off, cracking the plastic around the screw and making the screw useless. Why use tools when you can use brute force? Finally, another screw and plastic that attached the control panel to the door panel was also broken which is why it is now loose and not secure like it should be. Finally, it doesn't appear that they applied new adhesive to the vapor barrier so it really doesn't do anything any more. Very sloppy work, and dishonest in the way they did not tell me about the damage they did. read more

Took my Jeep in for alignment on a friday. Picked it up that afternoon and as i drove home, my steering wheel was crooked to the right and when i let go of it, my vehicle would instantly pull to the right. Being late Friday, i figured i would contact them on Monday morning. Contacted Monday morning and described my issue with receptionist. Made a new appointment for wednesday (you would think they would tell me to come on in and let us check it out, but no). I also wanted a diagnosis for an airbag light. Wednesday comes and I drop off jeep. Later that day around 3pm, they call and tell me my light is caused by a short in the wiring in the clock spring (I had already determined this was my problem and had the new part in my backseat). They gave me a price of well over $800 to replace. I asked if they would be able to replace it today and that i had te part in backseat and asked what labor cost would be. He told me $210 (the part was $150, so why was the original quote over $800?). As for getting it done, they said no, it's too late in day now. Then I was proceeded to be told that they could not correct my alignment due to many worn parts on the jeep (why did they take my $140 the first time and not tell me i had any issues? After picking vehicle up, I took it to another mechanic who inspected the parts that were claimed to being worn. The mechanic told me there is nothing wrong with any of the parts Masterwerks was telling me to replace. They refused to correct the alignment until i replace the parts and fix the track bar which none of them have anything wrong. The staff appears to either not know what they are talking about or are trying to rip people off by making them replace parts they do not need to replace. I used to be friends with Dave & Mike when they held the Hughfest, however have not been in touch much since they stopped it. I am very disappointed in the staff and the lies I was told. I will not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I used to go here yet they must have changed and not for better either. I called the other day a I always would to make an appointment for an oil change. So "Hank" goes to set it up. While doing so I mention the Check engine light is on. Man he must have had Dollar signs in his eyes!!! He was so happy to tell me it would cost $144.00 plus tax to check that. Folks, I added oil, it was too low and the light went off and stayed off. Hank would have ripped me off. Our Tire monitoring system never worked again after going there last time, so this phone call was their last chance to prove they haven't become greedy creeps like most mechanics, well, they have. My wife and I will never use them again. This used to be an honest shop, I guess greed finally got to Dave and his crew. Sad. Had a horrible experience on my very first visit with a rogue employee that took my payment and didn't apply it to my account. The office lady aggressively calls a day or so after accusing me of ducking out on a $25 payment, mind you, but admits to having to terminate this rogue employee for insubordination. I simply asked why she wouldn't call to explain the situation and seek remediation vs immediately accusing me of any wrongdoing as I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have given my keys back and allowed me to leave without paying as that's SOP everywhere. I told her I couldn't go down immediately however happily offered to go back down and pay the small amount of $25 or even pay over the phone. From there I thought she might have said ok when can you come down and square this up but nope absolutely not she was not at all pleased with me sharing what actually transpired from my perspective nor with my overall concerns/thoughts around her approach. She showed no empathy and fired back never mind I'll just take care of it and ended the call. Guess I'm the fool as today I attempted to take my other vehicle back to them to complete a small tire repair as being honest the actual service on my first vehicle was performed well and at a good price point, outside the horrible experience with the rogue employee and the overly aggressive office lady. Walked in and spoke to the counter man and even transparently explained the situation with the first debacle to see if that still needed to be squared up or was it potentially written off, he said he wasn't aware nor too much concerned. Turns out they were busy but able to set an appt for later in the afternoon so off I went. 30 mins later get a call that my account flagged and now they can no longer work on any of my vehicles. I again stated all over a rogue employee of yours that you terminated for insubordination and I also transparently disclosed and was willing to square up upon revisiting, next I was told none of that was relevant and I was also denied to converse with a manager as I was then told the owner made it "very clear" they were no longer doing business with me. Very disappointing to see this subpar business approach with no accountability on their part just an overly aggressive stance accompanied with a mentality of the customers in the wrong. Definitely a horrible customer experience especially coming from a background of 20+ years of experience/ownership in the automotive industry, but some of that's on me as I definitely should have learned my lesson with this place from the lingering aftertaste of the first experience! read more

I had my Jeep repaired there a couple of months ago, and they did an outstanding job after the dealer made a real mess of it, so I knew I could trust David and Mike. I told them about the problems my other car was having, and after listening to my description, they said I could bring it in for a look, or just check for the security of the battery cables. I made an appointment for later in the week but made sure to check the cables when I got home. Sure enough, they were loose and the source of all my problems. I can't think of any other repair shop that has that kind of integrity. They could have gotten an easy hour of labor out of me, but instead they took the high-road and told me how to check it out for myself. MASTERWERKS IS ACES IN MY BOOK! As a young woman who knows almost nothing about cars- this place is a life saver. I know there are certain mechanics who will over charge or over diagnose a car just because they know you don't know otherwise but these guys at Masterwerks are nothing like that... I've been bringing my car here for almost 4 years now and I have always had a great experience. I took my car in yesterday after almost a year and a half of no service of any kind (I know, I know...but money you know?) and I wholeheartedly expected to leave with a $500+ bill. I needed two new front tires replaced and asked for a oil change and tune up (I'm not sure what exactly I needed done though). Not only was there an adorable and very sweet husky there when I waked in to drop my car off, but when I was called to pick up my car about 2 hours later, I was told the two front tires and oil change was completed and after they inspected the rest of my car, there was no need for a tune up or any other maintenance! They even verified with Kia to be sure there was no recommended maintenance needed on my model/year. Out the door I spent $230 with my car running like it was brand new. David, the owner who's a really nice guy, also called me again today just to be sure that everything was running smoothly and that they appreciate my business. Came in to get my brakes and ac done, needed a lot more; but that's usually how it goes at the mechanic. However, wasn't able to get everything done. But after a trip to the mechanic, even after getting stuff fixed my car is in worse condition. They messed up my sunroof, so one of the functions no longer works. Guy returning my car said nothing about the sunroof. In addition, I came in to check my breaks because they would squeak every once in awhile, wanted to get them checked early. I know I only got one axle done, but now they literally squeak everywhere I go, no matter how light I press on the brakes. Called in mechanic basically says they were already like this. A friend recommended this shop, so I brought my 97 Tahoe in Monday afternoon w/ a failing water pump expecting to have to wait until at least tues for them to finish it. Meanwhile I needed to leave for flagstaff that evening. Upon inspection and a cooling system pressure test I was told they were going to get the part, and have it installed by the end of the day making it possible for me to get home without having to rent a car or take a shuttle. Then today, (Wednesday) I get a phone call from David, just checking to see how the truck ran with the new part. It is service like this, which will bring me back and have me recommending Masterwerks to any and everyone!!! My top priorities for a car repair shop are honesty and competence. Mike, at Masterwerks, one of the owners, gets five stars in both categories. I have been taking my car to Masterwerks for about four years, mostly for normal service, but I have also had a complete brake job done there. Today I had my car in for service. It seemed to me that it was about time to change the radiator coolant. Mike could easily have simply said "OK" and changed the coolant. Instead, he checked my records and discovered that I had done this about a year ago. Moreover, he explained that the PH and glycol content of my coolant was regularly checked whenever I had service, and there was no real need to do this at this time. Result? I saved over a hundred dollars. This is a great shop with a proven track record of a couple of decades. I strongly recommend this business. read more

The first day I got here, the owner/front desk person Mike was about 20min late to opening his business. When I was able to talk with him about an alignment, he was a little rude but I tried to not let it bother me. After he saw I was actually there for business and ready to be serviced he was more personable. I set my appointment up for the next day first thing in the morning. That morning that i got there I met Dave who was the complete opposite of Mike. Super super nice guy great and easy to talk to! After they took a look at my car Mike told me they couldn't do the alignment because of some issues on my car. Told me to get a hold of Insurance and get quotes because my car was technically totaled. I was extremely confused and didn't understand what was going on. When I asked for a quote to fix it he wouldn't give me. I asked three time if he could give me a quote so I could see if I could pay for it because I need my car ASAP! He wouldn't. So he just charged me $30 to 'inspect' my car. The only reason I came here is because Gary's Wheel Alignment was closed and Gary although isn't the most talkative person, he at least helps you out with understanding what's going on and gives you solutions to fix your car, not just tell you to make an insurance claim. I do believe the guys are capable of doing good work, but I do recommend an improvement on Mike's attitude. If you go in there, talk to Dave or someone else. Mike just seems like an emotional guy that you gotta catch on a good day to get help from him. Needless to say I won't be coming back. Beware of this business. The manager is a super slick salesman with low integrity. Beware of what they promise. I paid $80 for a pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle. They found a loud sound during their road test and stated it was 'no big deal.' I bought the car based on their inspection and after a few mechanics inspections, had to pay $1,987 in repairs. An excellent place to take your vehicle. I had some difficulty finding a local place to get my vehicles repaired after moving to North Phoenix, but after finding Masterwerks, the search was over. Whether you need an oil change, alignment, a.c. service or something diagnosed and repaired, this is the place. You can trust them to be completely honest and 100% upfront with you on all issues. They are always more than happy to explain and/or show you what the issue is so you understand the problem and what needs to be done. Masterwerks is also very good about getting your vehicle repaired quickly or if not, at least letting you know how long it will take, but in my experience they have an excellent turn around time. They use quality parts, and their work always stands out as top notch. They are also very good about scheduling. If you want your car looked at that day and they don't think that they will be able to get to it they will tell you instead of just making you wait all day and then calling you at 5pm and saying they couldn't get to your vehicle. So to summarize, they are EXTREMELY honest, very reliable and tend to get your vehicle repaired and back on the road fast- I highly recommend bringing your vehicle here. read more

As honest as you can get. I have been bringing in my old POS Nissan Sentra (no longer own) with several issues when it comes to overheating, electrical, and general mechanical problems. They are a bit expensive, but they will break down the work they did right in front of you, and even show you the old part that was replaced. I would inspect every area where the work was done, and it was always left clean and clear for you to see for yourself. They were able to help me get by with my older vehicle with solid repairs until i got a newer, more reliable vehicle. Definitely recommend them. read more

With the cars we have today, there's no sense even opening the hood to take a look for yourself. And even when you find out what the issue is, there's not much you can do about it. Great place for car and truck repair with costs well below what you would be charged at a dealer. Dave the owner took care of me after another shop in the Deer Valley area refused to install a part purchased by me the customer. Let me say I made it quite clear that because I purchased the part I would in no way hold them responsible for anything and I was in a JAM! Called Dave and without ever having used him he offered to take care of my problem. (I might add I had used the other place previously for work.) So not knowing me he installed the part in about 15 minutes and charged me less than what he had quoted on the phone. That should tell you something right there. I have since then had them do other work always done in short order for quoted price or less. I highly recommend talking to Dave or I believe it's Mike who is also on the phones. By the way Mike (I so hope I got your name right) the recommendation for a rear main oil seal sealer was right on spot! You as of now have saved me close to a thousand dollars. I won't tell Dave you took the money out of his pocket, it's our secret.
