Office being cooled down with the AC unit
    Adam N.

My family has been coming to Ha's Auto repair for many years now, even when he was at his previous small location. When we have ANY auto need from an oil change to something more complicated such as a rack and pinion change, brake change, blown engine fan - this is our go to spot! He is one of the most honest and straight forward mechanic AND person that we've know. He'd finish the service for our car and would let us know what else he found and the urgency of it. Honest pricing and the service is finish in a timely manner and with such quality! I truly feel comfortable taking our cars here versus going to any dealer or car service facility. (Yes, we've cheated on Ha's Auto shop, just because he was closed or the shop was full) They even have the office equipped with an AC unit for you to cool down! I'd highly recommend my friends who would happen to have any car trouble to stop by Ha's Auto shop!

Recommendation: Yes I would definitely recommend this shop! My number one place to go when my car or my family's car needs a fix or an oil change. Price: Great price Quality: Great quality. Service: Ha is great. Treats customers like family and very helpful. Tip: His services are only for cars like Asia imports: Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc. Detail: I've been to this place a few times after a family friend recommended it. Ever since we got our service done the first time, we've been coming here. Ha is a great person, very honest, and he puts great quality into his work. I would definitely recommend his place to everyone. He really treats his customers like they're family. Today, my mom and I brought in her car in since she said her break light wasn't working and an oil change. When he opened the front, we saw oil leakage. And so he did a full check on the car to see if anything else is wrong. He found 8 things that needs to be fix and replaced plus the oil change that my mom wanted. He quoted to be $550 which is still a good deal since my mom had brought her car to another place a few months back and they were already quoting her $330 for two things (Sorry I don't recall what my mom said since I overheard her talking to a friend about it after Ha told me what 8 things that needed to be fixed). Obviously it's the labor that affects the price the most. For Ha, he care more about the quality of the service and satisfaction of his customers than overcharging for labor. Like the other reviews, he's the best! :)

I understand that automotive work can sometimes take longer than expected, but after an hour and a half I had to ask for an update because no one had communicated the delay. I noticed on the front desk computer that I was entered into the system as a drop-off, even though I was waiting for my vehicle. I always wait during appointments, and if that impacts how service is prioritized, it should have been confirmed when scheduling. I also noticed there appeared to be either a misunderstanding or scheduling issue with another customer who had an appointment after mine, which raised concerns about how appointments were being managed. When I asked for an update on the timing, the response I received felt dismissive. The employee responded that "nothing is ever a half an hour, not here, not any shop." I understand that estimates can change and that inspections may take longer than expected, but my concern was not that it took longer--it was that I was given an estimate, waited significantly beyond that timeframe, and had to ask for an update myself. The employee told me he would check on the timing and get back to me, but I did not receive an update afterward. Instead, he returned to the office and continued working with vehicles. Another employee also said he would check on the status and where the first employee was at, but I did not receive an update from him either. A simple update or revised timeframe would have gone a long way. The inspection, which was quoted at approximately 30 minutes over the phone, ultimately took about two hours and cost around $100. The findings included recommended back strut replacement, brake fluid service, and a battery replacement, with an estimated total of around $1,760. They also identified a bent rim, but I did not appear to receive a quote for that item despite requesting one. I have no doubt that their technicians have the knowledge and skills to diagnose and repair vehicles, and that expertise has value. However, expertise does not replace the need for clear communication and respect for a customer's time. I was hoping for a shop that values the customer's time as much as their own. Given this experience, along with pricing that appears to be higher than other shops I have compared in the area, I am uncertain whether I will return for future service. I hope the shop improves its scheduling process and communication with customers when delays occur. ******* Edit in response to their Google review commentary: It's worthwhile to note the company response below essentially argues pricing (which was never contested as explained in my above review). The pricing was provided for other individual's knowledge of business pricing and a stated reason for hesitation in repeated business. There was no argument to the state of the car either-- it's at a shop as it needs repair. I went to one other business, not multiple as was stated in person and over the phone-- indicating a lack of clarity again with notation on client accounts more publicly-- and and was quoted half an hour of my time with no updated timeline despite two requests to one staff member as well as the owner, Jesse, who just walked away. The Argumentative and dismissive responses on the stated concerns in the severe lack of timing and communication are what have just ensured I do not return to this establishment and suggest others take a closer look at what shop they choose for the work on their vehicles.

I have had our family vehicles in a variety of maintenance facilities, many of them owned by immense business enterprises paying profits to shareholders. Our vehicles, on several occasions, had totally rookie maintenance mistakes, misorders, mis-assemblies, plain old misses. Finding the Alauria family repair shop, the "Servants of Sunnyslope Rising" , quality repairs, three year, 36,000 mile warranties, made us permanent customers. Three more family vehicles get serviced here now. Proper inspectiond and troubleshooting, no rookie mistakes. Follow up as needed, Pricing appropriate for this level of service. Kirk, the service manager, has been a big part of why I keep coming back -- he's down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to even when I don't fully understand the technical side of things. I really appreciate their communication process, including texted reports and photos of the work being done. So far, everything they've done has been straightforward and honest. When I've questioned their diagnostics or recommendations, Kirk has taken the time to explain things clearly and has even reached out to Jasper (the company that rebuilt my engine) just to help put my mind at ease. That level of follow-through means a lot, especially after a bad experience elsewhere. My one significant complaint is their shop fees. These charges aren't itemized as a "shop supply fee" or anything specific -- they just appear as a flat fee, and they're not disclosed anywhere in the initial quote. Most shops I've dealt with cap this type of fee around $50, but I was charged $90 on one occasion. Not listing this upfront feels misleading, and I think it's something customers should be made aware of before authorizing work. That said, trust in the actual mechanical work matters a lot to me, and this shop has earned that trust. I'll continue bringing my vehicle here, but I'd strongly encourage them to be more transparent about these fees upfront -- it would go a long way toward making an already good experience a great one.

However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.
