I was initially told i'd be getting some sort of money back but that wasn't the case, i got the run around and was blamed on his "mate" named Bevin. He'd always say it was this guys fault and how he owed him money & that "we both" got screwed on the deal. Andrew, no ... WE didn't. You screwed me over. Someone who trusted your word. I asked my friend who is a car guy where I should take my 2018 E63s for an oil change (B Service), because the dealer wanted $700. He swore by Atwood. So I called and made an appointment, but before I took it in, the check engine light came on! I called and they told me not to worry but booked additional time to take a look. Long story short, they changed the oil and filter, cleared the code and tested the triggered system several times with no issue. They told me no need to replace anything unless it happens again. Never gotten that kind of honesty anywhere else. And I was still out the door for half what the dealer would have charged me for just the oil change. HIS EMPLOYEES WRECKED MY CAR AND HE WON"T PAY FOR DAMAGES!!!!!! He doesn't even deserve the 1. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!! I brought my car in back in February of 2024 for a new Alt Batter and battery, which i had it in the shop 6 months prior and was told it did not need the ALT battery and if i did it would only be XXX amount of dollars. I had my car towed in on a flatbed because it would not start. I was smart enough to take pictures of my car while it was going on the tow truck. I live 5 mins away. My car was supposed to be down in 1 - 2 days, after a couple of days run around and over charged for ALT Battery, I walked out to get in my car at his shop and it was WRECKED!!!!!! The owner said he would review his cameras and get back to me. After a few hours, he did and said the cameras did not show it was damaged there at the shop. I told him i had the pictures and he finally admitted one of his workers backed into the car and showed me a picture of the front end of an SUV, with a black mark on it like a sharpy pen did it. The picture was from the front of the vehicle so it could not have "Backed into it" he said he would pay for the damage to my car as it was HIS FAULT. Fast forward 5 estimates later of $4500 - $5000 dollars (included the body shop he works with), he REFUSES TO PAY or give me HIS INSURANCE INFO. I have to pay for an attorney, rental car and my deductible when I have him on Text message, and email admitting fault. To the previous person who wrote the review KARMA WILL COME BACK TO YOU!!! Please read ALL The reviews, he has done this before and cancelled a check when he paid someone else for his awful work. The MB Schumacher (Penske) dealership failed to diagnose oil leaking into my transmission fluid. Somehow. Biannual service really means nothing at the dealership. The transmission was kicking relentlessly and they told me to drive it around until it gets better. Twice. Bastards. I knew that was a bad idea, but they then drove it around for me. Andrew and his crew saved me from $10k repair. He diagnosed the problem within 30 seconds of opening my hood. (The oil looked like a strawberry milkshake.) Had I gone to him sooner, my transmission would have been flushed, cleaned, and tuned, and my transmission would never needed repairs. And still! After all of that damage, i didn't hit anywhere close to MB's $10k price tag. Andrew was a certified MB dealership technician for a long time and knows the ins and outs of german cars and the bean counter corner cutting that has plagued luxury vehicle production. He will give a fair, non-exploitative price. His resources are vast and his time is precious. It's a small shop with a lot of clients, and an eclectic variety of European vehicles, so don't be put off if he misses a call or doesn't reach you as quickly as you would like. Trust me, it's worth it. I've taken 3 vehicles to him and they all came out much better than they went in, and more so, much better than when I took them to the dealership, and at a much better price. I waited 2 weeks for an appointment with this place, I was referred by a coworker at the VA Hospital. I let them know the convertible had a missing piece that needed to be replaced, they didn't seem to care about what I said and managed to destroy the whole unit and explain to me it needed all new parts. When I brought it in the top would function completely, now it doesn't work at all. That was a minor issue turned into a major issue, their total cost to fix was $500. The reason I went in was because the ac was not blowing through the top blowers. They told me it was probably one motor, but they suggested to get them all fixed. 12 motors at $125 each. Total was around $4k in total work convertible and ac. Total cost of the inspection $120. Went to another place in Scottdale, they confirmed with me that there is 12 motors but to fix something that was not broke was not always the most proficient way to go. They checked the ac and said it was that the motor was not connected, total cost $250. The convertible top was a whole other issue and it was going to be a process to get fixed. Over $3k just to get the motorization parts correct, not including the actual top. Ac is blowing very hard and cold, convertible well that's another story. This place gets a bad review, the guy was not nice, he came off cocky and loud like I needed him for their service. I ignored the red flags and they jerked my problem like a political Pinocchio. read more

It took me a few years to get to this review so hopefully things have changed at Atwood since. My experience with Atwood is that these guys are crooks. Hopefully you will have a different experience than I did. I had a Mercedes with 51k miles and took it to Atwood for a repair that ended up costing between 1-2k. I didn't complain because in my mind that's a typical cost for repairing Mercedes. Andrew kept my car for 4-5 days and said he would pay for a rental car for the duration of the repair. The quote Andrew gave was the price I paid. That's the only fair part of this exchange. I have a few issues with Atwood but for the sake of fairness I will leave it out because I'm not knowledgeable enough on cars to prove them. My biggest issue is that I was stuck with the bill to pay for the rental car that Andrew said he was going to pay for. He rented me a car at Enterprise, gave them his credit card and then cancelled the payment! This is what the account rep at enterprise told me verbatim. Then enterprise came after me for the ~$150 payment. They reported it on my credit and froze my account so I couldn't rent cars, which unfortunately I found out the hard way while traveling on business. Andrew said he would pay for it multiple times via email after following up with him to pay it and still to this day it has not been paid. Obviously he never had any intention to pay it. I gave Andrew multiple chances to make good on his promise but he never did even after saying a number of times that he would. Andrew, I certainly hope you treat your other customers with more honesty and respect than I experienced. My experience with Atwood was a huge disappointment and I will not return or recommend anyone to your business. read more

I have been going to Atwood European with my Mercedes for seven years, so I feel I have a very accurate accountance of the quality of service at this European specialty shop. It is very obvious that the owner knows his stuff to properly diagnose your vehicle without raking you over the coals. The prices are far below the dealership and the quality of service is outstanding! If you need a ride to or from the shop while your vehicle is being repaired, they have a courtesy vehicle at your call. Since I do not know a ton about under the hood, I could easily be confused about what's going on with my car. The owner takes the time to explain all of the diagnosis and your options. I have no doubt Andrew and his technical team are very talented and have a lot of know how when it comes to the intricacies that come with maintaining and repairing various vehicles (european or not). However, if you don't own a Mercedes-Benz, may patience be with you, because my Audi-owning neighbor and Volkswagen-owning friend had the same thing to say: anything else isn't quite worth their time. Prepare to chase after them on follow-ups calls that they promised to make days before, and double check parts prices on your invoices when you thought you were getting one brand and another appears. Atwood provides a fairly decent warranty on their parts and service. I'm not well versed in Volkswagens, but one of the brand new hoses attached to the water pump that was replaced in my VW already came off while I was driving and I thought it blew up again. Don't worry guys, thanks to my Haynes manual I was able to put it on correctly for you. Rear-left brake caliper was also incorrectly installed, and I had to take it to another garage to identify the problem, in which I then brought it back to Atwood with the pictures to prove it. Fortunately at this point, they fixed the error and I was able to escape their clutches. read more

I made the mistake of purchasing a pre-owned Mercedes without having a mechanic fully look it over first... lesson learned there. I had been hearing a noise coming from the car... long story short, my car ended up at Andrew's shop and it turned out that the back brakes needed to be replaced. Andrew took the time out to take the car for a drive with me so he could hear exactly what I was talking about. He was very knowledgeable and fair... he could have told me I needed to replace all four brakes but instead told me that I could get away with just the back brakes for now. Believe all the negative reviews they are absolutely true. I was lied to and I had conclusive evidence that he was lying. The sad thing is that he lies so well that I know the majority of customers do not know they are being lied to. It is not every business that can earn the lowest possible rating of an F by the BBB, but these guys have done it. My advise is to find an honest shop that knows what they are doing, I have been using the Mercedes Dealership Phoenix Motor company, in the end I spend less since they know how to properly fix my car.. These guys suck. Car was overheating. We told them what we thought was wrong with the car. They fixed something else instead and gave it back. Car overheated again within two miles of their shop. Way to check your work, jerks. When contacted, they said the original work was subject to warranty but if we wanted the real problem fixed we'd have to pony up another $400 to take it apart again. When confronted with the fact that we TOLD them what we thought the problem was and they ignored it, they didn't care. We just got the problem fixed at another shop nearby for about 60% of what Atwood charged to NOT fix it. Seriously, this is a no-brainer. Let this shady business die on the vine. edit: three years later, the owner responded to this review without addressing the specific concerns. no apology for the bad service, or for taking money for not fixing the car. if your business satisfies a majority of customers and continues to get you referrals, great, but you might want to reconsider how you treat the people whose cars you fail to fix. read more

I have to agree with every other reviewer. This place is awful. I was recommended to go here by Chapman BMW and I like to think I'm pretty good at sizing people up when I meet them. This was no exception. Andrew, the owner of the shop, treated me like I was an absolute moron and tried his damndest to upsell me with things I know I don't need or want. I've been a car enthusiast for a long time, and I can do most of this work myself except I don't have the tools or space. I know that a BMW auto tranny should not be flushed with pressure if it is high mileage, and I told him I don't want the service. He continued to argue with me and tell me he knows better. I'm sure he does quite well selling un-necessary service to your average luxury car owner, but I know better. Arrogance only gets you so far in life. Kevin from Brakes Plus on north 35th ave, said he took my Mercedes to Atwood because Brakes Plus could not fix what they messed up. Kevin said they paid Atwood $2000.00 to fix. It runs worse than ever. All the vacuum lines were moved around and none are connected to where the book states they should be. They even hooked a vacuum line to the window washer water line( washer is electric) why hook to vacuum and suck all water into engine. I never write a review, but today I was treated so badly by Andrew the owner of Atwood European I wouldn't take a bicycle to him. I was referred to him on Monday because we are looking for a motor for our 2001 BMW 740IL. Which we want completely redone. He said he would call me back in a couple of hours with a few quotes. We'll today, Wednesday I call him because he never called back. he says he can't find a cheap engine with low miles, they are all too expensive. That It will cost $3, 4, 5 maybe even $6000 To fix. I said OK. He said it would just be too much money. I asked him to who him or for us? And if that was why he hadn't called back. He was rude and finally I asked him, do you want to fix our car? Are you assuming we don't have the money to fix it? We are calling and referred by someone he knows and trusts, because we do have the money. And he hung up on me. Andrew NEVER assume anything.
