    Valvoline on Cave Creek Rd in Phoenix, AZ. I have literally never written a negative review on a business before. However, as a young girl I feel I was totally scammed by this place. I brought my car (that's in absolutely perfect condition) for a basic oil change and left with a list of problems. First, the guy told me my battery was going bad. I let him know it was less than a year old and still under warranty through my roadside assistance, so I'd have it replaced through that company. Later on he claimed my skid plate was dented and loose... then said to me, "If you hear it dragging when you leave here, that's why." It was not dragging at all when I arrived--and if it had been, how would I have even made it there? You cannot drive your car with the skid plate dragging on the floor. So he had one of his guys zip tie it back on... When I go to leave my car doesn't start. He shrugs and says, "Yeah, it's that battery..." I thought okay maybe that's just a crazy coincidence... I told him I was still going to handle it with roadside assistance, so they jumped it. I drove straight home and called roadside assistance. They tested the battery, told me it was in great shape--and that it looked like someone or "something" had spiked the voltage, causing the issue. THEN the next morning, I go to leave for work and find my skid plate completely detached, dragging under my car, (see photo) making it undriveable. I had to Uber to work, and meanwhile call someone to come to my house and remove the skid plate just so we could drive it to a repair shop--costing me even more to fix something that was never broken in the first place. I don't know what their game was, but it definitely felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. Shady, careless, and dishonest!

    My first oil change never leaving the car and everything went well. Only had a short wait and then the actual oil change took only 20 minutes. You could see everything they were doing and they had good communication with me throughout the process. Coupons were also available to use. Nice staff and good results.

    I have been using Valvoline for almost 10 years now. I had an issue where my cover underneath wasn't fully put back on causing it to be damaged and paying for a new cover for underneath, which was not cheap. I decided to give them another try even though I had this experience prior and went in on Monday to get my oil change with my newer car. I asked for my tires to be filled and checked which was not done, I asked for help with the oil reset instructions which was not done, I asked for air filter check which was not shown/told to me. The guy at the computer put that they did these things on the computer and he also put the wrong amount of oil needed for my car on the computer and if it wasn't for another worker I would of had an overfilled mess. The worker didn't even bother to look up my account I had on file. The worker on computer also decided he would rather talk about my personal life than what my car needed and treated his time with his coworkers as social time, even the guy who was filling my oil up front was asking why I was not gone yet. I am beyond disappointed and hope that my oil is actually fully changed correctly after spending a large amount for my requests to be ignored. Do better.

    I drove in on Wednesday late morning- they were not busy at the time and I pulled right in! The folks were very friendly and helpful with selections in what services & price ranges they had available. They promptly began working on my vehicle and several other cars started arriving- they had a very efficient way of getting them set up and prepared for their service. I was very happy with my oil change and gave each attendant a Starbucks gift card for a beverage to enjoy on their break! They worked hard and I appreciate being able to sit in my vehicle while they get it all done! Thanks guys!

Instead, over the course of three months, my vehicle was severely disabled by a team unable to perform the level of work they undertook--and those errors were later protected by another team under the same franchise rather than corrected. This matter is now under a formal Better Business Bureau complaint: BBB Case ID #: 24357302 (Filed 01/06/2026) Locations & Management Involved Big O Tires - Cave Creek 5355 E Carefree Hwy, Building C Cave Creek, AZ 85331 Store Manager: Kris Maxie Big O Tires - Phoenix 21029 N Cave Creek Rd Phoenix, AZ 85024 Store Manager: Jeff Hunter General Manager (both locations): Blade Bush Regional Manager: Mike Sharpe Serious Safety, Repair, and Oversight Failures As a woman in my 60s doing the best I can without a mechanical background, I trusted Big O Tires to act competently and ethically. Instead, I experienced repeated misrepresentation of repairs, dismissal of safety concerns, and pressure to accept incomplete or incorrect work. I am deeply concerned this conduct may affect other customers. Documented issues include: * Wrong transmission fluid was used; this was not acknowledged when a new transmission was presented as "necessary," omitting the true cause * Transmission replacement forced me into an extended rental car * Vehicle shudders violently when AC is on, making it feel unsafe * AC compressor was under warranty, yet I was charged for a new one * Compressor replacement was double-billed and immediately followed by severe shaking * Work was performed involving airbag systems * I was later told Big O does not handle airbags due to lack of certification * I was also told airbag work had been performed by a non-certified technician * Warning lights were repeatedly dismissed and later tied to airbags not functioning * Steering components were left unsafe, including screws not replaced and later described as hazardous * Vehicle returned with missing or unsecured hardware, including an engine protection plate left hanging * Horn and cruise control failures were not properly repaired * Multiple return visits were required due to errors from work performed the prior day; many visits were not documented * An incorrect belt was installed, causing the vehicle to break down and require towing * When I requested safety issues be resolved, I was instead offered an oil change * At the Cave Creek location, the manager was frequently not on site, and vehicles appeared to be worked on without direct supervision * I was told management knew errors were occurring but could be fixed--yet they were not * All warning lights remain on * Although verbally stated to be "safe," this is my only transportation and I have lost all trust. I am taking my life on the freeway in a vehicle ablaze with warning lights I was told to "monitor." Lack of Corporate Response * I contacted the Big O consumer complaint line on 11/23 * No one from corporate or regional management contacted me * I was given a $700 check for non-certified airbag work, which felt less like a resolution and more like being told to go away--while my vehicle remained unsafe Financial Impact Between transmission replacement, repeated repairs, towing, rental car costs, and related expenses, the financial impact exceeds $18,000, yet the vehicle remains unresolved and unsafe. Final Statement I trusted this company because I am not a mechanic and relied on their professional expertise. Instead, my car was compromised by work beyond the team's capabilities, and those failures were protected rather than corrected. This is not professionalism. This is not accountability. This is not acceptable. Shame on you.

    I came across an online coupon for 25 % off any oil change service so I thought I would give Take 5…read morea try. When I pulled up to Take 5 I accessed the coupon on my phone and followed the instructions to enter my email address for marketing purposes. When I entered my email the coupon closed and I couldn't access it any longer. I went online and found a $ 7.oo dollar off coupon to use. I pulled up to one of the 2 entries to empty bays while the third bay was occupied. I was greeted after a couple of minutes by a young man who explained that it would be just a few minutes and they would be with me. Eventually I was directed to pull my vehicle into the service bay and again told that it would be a few minutes while they finished up the 1 customer they had When I arrived. Finally someone came to explain the services to me and take my information. In my photos I included the price offerings for oil change services which I had questions about. I was told that for the less expensive synthetic oil change options they used a rebrand oil under their brand but it was Castor oil which is considered a mid- top quality oil. The highest price oil change option is Mobil One synthetic, which should tell you how much better Mobil One oil is considered to be. I settled for the full synthetic change ( $ 84.99 ) with the rebranded synthetic oil. They checked my air filter and other essential fluids and everything was good because I check them myself regularly. My oil change was done and it was time to check out. I brought up the problem with the 25 % coupon disappearing after I entered my email and the attendant indicated that the marketing people were aware of the problem and were working on it. He didn't offer to honor the better coupon but did accept my smaller coupon. From the time I pulled up to the time I pulled out was more like 15 to 20 minutes. There were 2 attendants and both were very personable. The prices are high and if you search online you can find local oil change specials at a better price. The service was good and I was treated like a valued customer. I can't justify them not honoring the 25 % off coupon which was the motivation for me trying Take 5 in the first place. I feel that if they are aware of the problem they should honor the coupon the customer tried to use. I will stick to finding local oil change specials as I have in the past and Take 5 won't get my or my families business going forward.

They have notified me that oil was leaking out somewhere and that It needed attention. It was quick and fast oil change little under a hour. I should have notice that they poorly did a sad shit job on a simple oil change and couldn't even place the oil filter on right. I was furious about how the poor service was done. I took it upon myself to have someone else look into it, they had notified me that it the oil filter wasn't on right. I replaced the filter and redid the oil change. After putting more money into getting it done right, I was not given a full refund of 120$ and got back 35$. Shout out to Chad Peter and the mangers at this facility for poor customer service. Worst place to ever get car maintenance.

I've been going to Jiffy Lube for years, several different states, and when I say these guys ARE THE BEST, I'm not exaggerating. Fast, super friendly and efficient. The manager Fabian was so generous, and the crew that day, Juan and James (especially James) was so very kind and hooked me up. Ladies and independent girlies, if you're weirded out by the experience of going to get an oil change with mechanics, I can say confidently that the staff was superb. No weirdness, no flirting, just business as it should be, quick, kind, and courteous. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! 12/10 thank you so very much gentlemen. It was such a pleasure. You WILL see again next time :D
