Have been going to Lowery's since 2020 when they fixed my F150 throttle body issue like a champ. Could have cost thousands anywhere else, but they took the time to research the problem correctly. We all know that it can be a challenge to find a good mechanic who is fair and honest. I'm happy to say I found one right in my backyard. After reading reviews, I visited the shop as I was in need of brake repair. They scheduled me in and then bumped it up earlier at my request. I wound up bringing my car 4 hours earlier than the appt., as I could hear that dreaded scraping noise and wanted to avoid further damage and cost thinking the rotors would need to be replaced. Well, just as the others experienced, John did not suggest replacing. He said all they needed was some machine work and that resulted in a huge savings. John was awesome. Had some troubles with my Golf and he took the time to answer my questions and listening to my thoughts on what was wrong. Most places don't care for your thoughts but he made me feel good. He stayed late to finish my car which was greatly appreciated. His prices are reasonable and you know you're getting good work done. Got my oil changed here for the first time and the people there are nice and took care of me, and didn't have me waiting too long. There's a chill waiting area, and a tv so you can just wait in there while your car is getting serviced. The price was right as well. read more

On Monday morning, wife went to leave for work and the '07 Jeep Grand Cherokee didn't start, it was only making a clicking sound. I called Lowery's and told them I was having it towed to them. AAA arrived, and ended up giving it a jump, and I took it to Lowery's. Ended up needing a new battery, and the terminal connecter had to be replaced after being eaten away by battery acid. Also had them give it an oil change and check the brakes. For a Monday, and not having an appointment, John was able to get it all done in under 90 minutes. He rotated the tires for free (since he had them off) and said the brakes still have life to them. Didn't charge me for looking at the brakes (I've been to other garages that charged me just to put it on the hydraulics) and even said he was applying some coupon to the work that I didn't have nor was aware of. While I waited, I sat in the waiting room (basic but very clean, and roomy) and had my choice of what to watch on Netflix. They did what they could to make me comfortable, and easily could have added "work" without me knowing about it. John is a very honest mechanic, and I'm going to tell anyone that needs the vehicles worked on to take it to him. read more

Sun Devil auto told me I needed new rear breaks. Took my car to Lowery's and was told my breaks are fine (have another 10,000 mi left). They then gave my car a good once over and said everything looked fine. Gave me my keys back and didn't charge me a penny. Wouldn't even let me give him so cash to pay for his lunch. Open on a Saturday?! Never thought I'd find a reliable mechanic opened on a weekend. When my window crashed into the door and wouldn't go up I was panicked as not even 2 years ago Autonation Ford Scottsdale replaced a broken motor part in my 2006 Focus. I would describe Lowery's as Old School honesty, get it done right and pay attention to detail. I came in search of trust after another garage said I needed a full front end for $2000.00 after checking out a thumping noise and hard ride on the 1996 185k miles Ford Explorer. John determined it all looked fine but needed front shocks. I brought in a 2003 Corvette for a cooling system flush that for three years and several unsuccessful diagnoses would overheat at temperatures above 100 degrees. While completing the work and looking further into the overheating problem John found hard to see major debris jammed into the front scoop that was blocking the radiator air flow and the problem was solved. John has demonstrated that he will go the extra mile to fix problems in an old car at my request that others would probably not touch. John has also offered me a solution that will fix the Corvette ABS system and save me about $1200.00. The last problem was a major rattling knocking noise on the Ford's engine area when loaded by the A/C. This is where someone could take major advantage of this situation, but I knew John would fix only what was needed. He found a Flywheel Assembly that was completed at reasonable cost and replaced several bolts that were missing from the oil pan in the process. read more

I have a Chevy Duramax Diesel with the SCR system. The Diesel Exhaust Fluid tank had an internal level sensor failing. He accurately diagnosed the required parts and gave me an estimate. I asked him to install another part of the system while he was working on it along with programming a new key fob. They completed the job quickly, on time and only charge minimally for additional requests. Very happy to know these guys. read more

After having the timing belt in my 2009 VW Jetta TDi, aka, "Das Booger", replaced by the dealership on VW's dime, the dealership informed me that the outer CV boots should be replaced at a cost of over 600 bucks! So I said, "Thanks, but no thanks!" and proceeded to shop for another garage to do the job. It was then that I remembered that when my brother was out visiting this past summer that he took his beloved Mercedes 500SL to this little garage just around the corner from my home when he thought the car was having an AC issue. John with Lowrey's garage gladly checked out my brothers car, could not find anything wrong and didn't charge my brother for taking a look at the AC in his car. I was impressed by this, so I took my little Booger to John at Lowrey's garage after contacting him by phone to discuss the job with him initially, then continued the pre-job correspondence via email (this ensured that all was in order and understood before doing the job). What I thought was really cool is that John took considerable time to discuss the job with me, to make sure he got the right parts beforehand and to discuss options in the event the CV joints were found to be damaged. When I did drop the car off, John asked several times if I needed a ride home, showing concern about my crossing Cave Creek during rush hour on foot, but since I live within easy walking distance, I chose to decline. Needless to say, the CV boots were replaced correctly and at a reasonable and competitive price especially when compared to what the dealership wanted. John and I had agreed beforehand that if in his professional opinion, he felt the axles should be replaced as well as the outer CV boots, that I would authorize the work. As it turns out, John reported the axles to be fine and only the CV boots were replaced thus saving me additional loot. I am so very pleased to have a good, honest mechanic within walking distance from my home as although I do a lot of the maintenance on my cars myself (I know them inside and out), I don't have the equipment or the time to perform the BIG jobs. So having Lowrey's garage so very close makes my life a LOT easier. I have a 2011 VW Jetta TDi too, aka, "LorJetta", that my wife drives and I have no doubt John and Lowrey's garage will be getting to know her ("LorJetta") very well. read more
